I just finished reading Bridgeburns thread and also yours!I am from the balkans and i have crown thinning.I started finasteride 1 mg March of 2019 and last august i added 0.5 dutasteride(Avodart) minoxidil since 2017.I did not have balding just thinning !! I still have a small spot that is thinner otherwise i have a full head of hair!! How do i start HRT if things do not get better?You really see improvement in just 3 weeks?? Do you believe you will get full reversal??Can you expect hair thickenning with just 5ar + estradiol?? I am taking both duta and fina i am reckless!

Hello and welcome to my thread. I'll help you as much as I can

If you want to start HRT I would suggest starting with Estradiol gel, as it can also be used topically. If breast growth bothers you, start with a higher dose, something above 4mg is good. If you don't care you can use a lower dose, but for lower doses an AA might be required. Just to be sure my androgens are blocked I also started taking 50mg Bicalutamide with my 6mg gel dose (I've lowered it down to 5mg since to economise on gel, but this requires me to put some on the scrotum to keep my levels high. As I don't care about fertility it does not bother me, but it might somebody who does care.) but I had an adverse liver reaction, toxicity to be precise with signs of jaundice. So I stopped. If everything is ok and my liver regenerates I will try Cyproterone Acetate 12.5mg. But this is not strictly needed. Estradiol in high enough doses to stop androgen production and Fina/Duta should be enough. Good places to put the gel besides scalp and scrotum are thighs and armpits. Butt is also good.

And yes, I really do see improvement, it's all in the pictures. I myself am very surprised at the speed this is happening, but it's all true. I have nothing to hide, so ask as many question as you like.

HRT is the cure for androgenic hair loss, a costly one for most biological males, but if they can accept the other effects hair regrowth is basically guaranteed.

Well if you are willing to go as far as castration I see why not try Estradiol together with the AAs. They might not even be needed if you have a high enough dose of Estrogen. Antiandrogens might stop you loosing hair, but they probably won't regrow much. If you want regrowth then just buy some Estradiol, gel is the best for this if you ask me, but anything will do, patches, pills, injections etc.

For Cypro the best dose is bellow 25mg. Even 12.5mg is enough to destroy most Testosterone production with little side effects.

But once again, if you are suicidal and can't stop thinking about hair, just go with Estrogen. It will work, trust me.

I don't know to be honest, it might happen with Cypro or it might not. One thing AAs stop 100% is further hair loss, that's for sure. No, I don't use Minoxidil yet, will get on it if my results slow down, I already have some ready.

As for Estradiol, brand name is not as important as the substance. You want bioidentical Estradiol (E2). I use 17b-Estradiol gel. And as to where to get it, I'll send you a private message.

No it's a synthetic birth control pill. You need bioidentical Estrogen. If you want branded stuff look for pills called Estrofem. Or if you want gel look for a brand name Oestrogel. Also read my private message for more info.

Wait. According to Bridge and others, ethinyl estradiol and perhaps, Premarin are highly effective for feminization, hair loss and birth control. They are however dangerous in terms of clotting and liver damage in the longer term, which might mean 0-36 months. Premarin is still the go to med at my endo. Except for people with a purpose, Sol is right though. Avoid them since bio-identical and especially parenteral estrogen appear to be just as effective and far less dangerous. Yasmin also contains synthetic progestins which are not necessary but some times effective perhaps but more so reputed for breast enhancing without evidence to indicates this to be anything but an hoary myth. Same with P4 which Janey uses "just in case".

I don't mean to be a gadfly critic because you are largely correct about all of this. Using Estrogel on the scalp can also have placebo effects and possibly anti-DHT effects but it is also systemic eventually and feminizing. Some MtF's claim that nothing halted their baldness but this is without any correlation in terms of E2 levels reached and we don't know what level works best for hair. Janey thinks upwards of 300pg/ml sustained for say, 18 months if not indefinitely might work to reverse decades of T/DHT bombardment as might microneedling as it induces collagen production and stem cell renewal.

I am currently estradiol only. I stopped spironolactone in May of 2020 and stopped medroxyprogesterone last May. I think many are coming to the idea that spironolactone or cpa or bica can be more so stereotypically "female" in terms of loss of strength and fatigue, more so than muscle loss. If you want to DM me, I can discuss your entire protocol and as you know, I owe Reddit for much of my "knowledge". Reading and answering pertinent posts has really helped inform me and now Sol. But the MtF's and XY's in it (HRT) for the hair are making new anecdotal progress about hair restoration and what works vel non. I also always ask about breast growth preferences as low-dose estradiol is best for breast growth initially and then high dose seems better for hair recovery and facial feminization.

Most females carry two XX chromosomes while males carry an X and a Y which can drastically alter pubertal and adult bodies to the target gender which for MtF's by definition essentially means replacing testosterone with estrogen/estradiol all but completely.

Mixed gender people can have two XX's and an X or a Y which can work out perfectly fine but there could be some impact on fertility. Some such people might reportedly be able to both inseminate and become pregnant. I at times use the term XY female for myself but other MtF's might not like such usage or such term but eh, it's hard to be both descriptive and specific without a way to separate out females not born female or XX at birth.

Yeah, I admit that rant earlier in the thread about Poles was not too nice, and I didn't mean to offend any individual, it was more of a rant aimed at some behaviours a lot of them exhibit. Plus I've never publicly stated the name of my Eastern European country, but since anybody who knows me irl will basically recognise me from my hair pics I see no reason to hide it anymore. It is Poland. I was literally ranting about my own countrymen lol. Which has a lot to do with trauma. Being a gender non conforming kid was hell there. And then in my teens most of them tried to groom me into a masculine man, from my family to so called friends. So I don't identify with their values but since I've observed them for years I can objectively criticise them.

Also, I don't really emotionally identify with any nationality at this point. Diversity of nations is good and adds a lot of uniqueness to Earth, but ultimately we are all humans with the same consciousness/soul so I choose to look at the individual, not their nationality.

And I don't think explaining myself is self-crucification. I am simply admitting the reason to why I said such words, that might have come off as too harsh to nice Poles who don't behave in the way I specified, quite a few who I personally know. But yeah, as for Polish politics CIA camps are only the tip of the iceberg. The Polish government likes to be seen as better then other Eastern European governments, but they are no different. They are bunch of oligarchs who got rich off destroying the economy and peoples lives, and their only goal is to further stuff their pockets full of money.
