Hello! Any updates? Has anyone mailed 2hpharm? Just wondering :) I've been following this closely. I posted the followup r/tressless post after /u/myhipsareliars told us about the study. I messaged myhipsareliars, asking about updates, but I think the account is a throwaway and I don't think he checks it.

I think the newest date we will have news on this discovery is the dermatology conference in june where dr Choi will be presenting himself his recent findings.

[Medigate News] It would be nice if the hair reproduced from people suffering from baldness. People with baldness want a remedy that will remove their wig. The hair grows by repeating 3-7 years of growth, 2 ~ 3 weeks of retrogression, and 3 ~ 4 weeks of rest. However, hair follicles, which are the hair-producing organs, become smaller due to the effects of androgenic hormones, or are damaged by autoimmune diseases or injuries, leading to hair loss. Existing hair loss treatments, such as minoxidil and pinastelide, are helpful for hair growth, but there is no effect on the progressive hair loss and side effects due to male hormone suppression. A new paradigm to overcome these limitations is to develop a new therapeutic agent that can promote permanent hair regeneration and treat permanent hair loss and baldness due to hair follicle damage. (In the development of baldness treatment) Finally, the light of hope began to shine. In 2007, George Cotsarelis and his colleagues published a study that suggests that regenerating hair is possible and that the Wnt signaling pathway * is involved in the hair growth cycle and follicular stem cell activation (Nature 447, 316-320). Since then, research has been carried out to solve the problem of rapid hair loss by activating hair signal transduction system or by making dermal papilla cells into hair follicle stem cells. The possibility of neogenesis of new hair follicles has also been shown in bald patients who already have hair loss. However, the protein regulating hair growth and the specific regulatory process were unknown. On October 20 last year, Yonsei University professor Choi Kang-yeol's research team published a paper titled "Targeting of CXXC5" in the Journal of Investigative Dermatology, an international journal of skin science. a Competing Peptide Stimulates Hair Re-growth and Wound-Induced Hair Neogenesis. Luis A. Garza, professor at Johns Hopkins University, concludes that a review of the results of this paper concludes the importance of this study. Professor Choi and colleagues found that a protein called CXXC5 (CXXC-type zinc finger protein 5) **, which was produced during the activation of the winter signaling system, acted as a negative regulator factor and suppressed the activated winter signal (J. Exp. Med. 212, 1061-80). CXXC5 is a newly identified zinc finger family protein that has a domain (DBM, Disheveled binding motif) that binds to the disheveled protein ****, It will hinder the delivery system. In this study, we first identified that CXXC5 could be an important target for hair growth and hair renewal by using scalp tissue, human dermal papilla cells ***** and genetics mouse in hair loss patients. The most important findings are the development of a protein-protein interfering peptide (PTD-DBM) that can competitively interact with CXXC5 and disheveled proteins to inhibit CXXC5-Disheveled binding to develop hair growth and hair renewal drugs This is a new target for Treatment of this substance (PTD-DBM) with a human-induced drug to human cells or mice shows a hairy effect superior to commercial hair growth promoting agents, as well as a regenerating hair growth effect in which new hair follicles are regenerated with adult stem cell activation. Peptide (PTD-DBM) ****** and wilt activating agents in the same area of human cells or mice have been shown to inhibit the negative feeding mechanism, thereby regenerating new hair follicles and maximizing hair growth This was confirmed by using stem cell markers and the like. If you press the pedal without releasing the vehicle's side brakes, the car will not come out properly. The side brakes must be released to ensure proper driving. Likewise, you need to step on an excel called "Wnt" to get the signal to work properly. But we often do not know the brake is turned on. The car should work properly if you put in a blocker to release the brake. Until now, we did not know that CXXC5, which increases in the scalp tissue of patients who are undergoing hair loss, acts as a sideblock that binds to disheveled proteins and inhibits the activity of the winter signaling system. When I stepped on the Excel (Wnt), I thought the car would go fast. In mice with the CXXC5 gene removed, the hair follicle cycle quickly resumed growth and by observing early hair growth, CXXC5 proved to be a braking inhibitor of hair follicle formation. The materials to be developed based on this research are expected to contribute to the development of therapeutic agents that regenerate not only baldness but also damage to skin tissue as a first-in-class drug.

any updates on this? can whoever emailed the lead researcher earlier post his contact info or maybe email him again? maybe they have some preliminary tox results. of all the new stuff from 2017/18, this is still the most promising in my opinion

We need a lead company that presents a product or treatment not researchers that think and talk a possible solution in 5-20 years...

They are currently testing the candidate product for toxicity, so unless safety has been established, no company will pick it up yet. Yeah if this ever sees market release its gonna be few to many years from now so albeit promising, dont get your hopes up

Trump has reversed an incredible amount of worthless federal regulations. He is the anti-bureaucracy, not big government. Maybe he'll do the same in the FDA, but he didn't create that either.
