.

Yeah, you were right with what you posted in my "story" thread: our situations are very similar. Hopefully we'll both have success with our regimens (I feel like an idiot at the moment though... I just missed nearly two days of mine).

Hey a question:

I'm 18 in six weeks.

I know that i'm fully sexually developed (I was an early bird)

But will Propecia stint my growth?

Because I am only 5'9 and I would like grow more.

Thanks.

Height is genetic as you know so how tall were your parents and grandparents? If you don't have any relatives over 6 feet then you are probably done growing.. Men typically have had their growth spurt by 16-17.

sure some guys continue to grow until 21... i think i may have added another 1/4inch after high school, but when you hit 18, generally you are finished, and what I remember from my embryology and human development, anatomy and physiology, penis growth (yes penis) is one of the first to start and stop in puberty, so you guys worrying about growing more down there need not worry if around 18

again, if you are losing hair, your hormones are now usually setup in a way that growth has stopped

Ah. Here is a picture of me now. And a picture of me two and a half years ago (at age 15)

My hairline may have gone up a tiny bit but it looks the same to me (because in the right photo im looking down). You can tell in the 15 year old pic, even though it's blurry that I have a V shaped hairline. The hair on the tip almost looks like peach fuzz.

Innteresssting.

Hey speculum2
Your looks good man. I started propecia at 18 also. I too am 5'9 i think i continued to grow just the little bit while on propecia so i dont think it will stunt your growth (ask the doctor to be sure).

Goodluck and keep us updated

Pic updates. 2 months on finasteride.

My hair is brushed back like last time and taken in the same light with flash mode ON.

And the image i took 2 1/2 months ago is this one:

I don't know what to make of them. I reckon i've improved a little slightly hmmmmm.... i've shed like a dog today.

:?

My hair is actually cut a lot shorter in the front then compared to the longness of the back, which was a stupid idea on my part. It makes it even more obvious.

It is also lighter as I stupidly dyed it. Which makes it even MORE obvious.

I can't wait for it to grow enough so that I can get it cut properly at a good length, with a dark color. Should look ok.

Judging from the photo- would I look alright with a buzzcut? Be serious please

Why would you want to a buzzcut? With a bit longer hair you can easily style it in a way that your hairloss is hardly noticable. I buzzed my hair and didn`t like the outcome. I`ve done a sort of a combover for nearly 10 years (I style my hairline up and all the rest forward to cover the temples). After buzzing my hair that was not an option anymore and I hated it. I`m just happy that it has grown back.

Maybe you should try a bit shorter (3-5cm) hairstyle first and not jump straight to a 1mm style?

I can't wait for it to grow enough so that I can get it cut properly at a good length, with a dark color. Should look ok.

I have always thought that lighter colors are better for people who are thinning. Not my thing though, since I have dark brown hair and when I have tried coloring it blond I look like a total freak

For white people, it lessens the contrast between the hair color and scalp color. This is why I think dark skinned people tend to look better with buzzed/shaved heads in my opinion, because there is less contrast between their hair and skin color.

The other side of the coin for buzzes on fair skinned people is that though lightening the hair or having light hair means less of a contrast, it is easier to see through light hair and it can appear thinner.

Hey guys, just thought i'd post pics of what my hair looks like WITH Nanogen and a ton of hairspray in it.

nanogen1.jpg

nanogen2.jpg

However the stuff isn't cheap. Currently I pay $50 U.S for ONE BOTTLE!!! That's because the site I order it from has to add a $30 shipping fee (I live outside the US)

Does anyone know where I can get a cheaper shipping price, like... more in the $10 range and under?

Why don't you use Toppik?...Isn't it pretty much the same as Nanogen? You'll be able to get it in NZ.

Damn Spec,

that's some tight-*** hair!

How do you apply Nano? Do you just "shake" it onto the hair?

I'm drunk.

I haven't seen it anywhere. I searched google new zealand and nothing:

Do you have any places you think might have it?

Pretty much yeah. Just open the bottle and shake it a little bit, then mash it into my hair with my fingers and voila. It's annoying though because the small container is dark blue, so I can't see how much of the stuff I have left. I don't know why they don't just make them clear for christs sake. I should really order three-four more of them now then wait till my one and only runs out. Coz then i'll have to improvise for three weeks. (it takes 7-10 days each way, coz I send actual cash through the post)

Yay for being drunk. I need a frigging drink.

The only improvement I can really see are some thicker, darker hairs growing along my receding hairline.

It's my 18th birthday tomorrow. Woop woop like I give a f***.

Happy birthday bro. I know, it sucks to lose hair young. We shouldn't be going through this. I'm older than you (24) but can deeply relate with the pain you feel.

I can definetely see some improvement with your hair. Don't give up the treatment. You seem to have most of your loss on your frontside, your top and back side seems pretty full. Why don't you try to cut your hair shorter on the parts of your head where you have stronger/thicker hair? It will give you a more balanced and easier to maintain head of hair and I think you will be able to mask your loss easier.

Happy B-day man.

I think you might hold onto your frontal hair for a while, but it will eventually go, or stay thin...

I DO think you have a great chance to keep the hair on top of your head and crown for MANY decades if you keep up the treatment.

Maybe in a few years you can consider a hair transplant or HM.

I hope you're not getting down on what I'm telling you. I just want to give you a straight-forward opinion.

Keep up the faith, the treatments, and pray to the hairloss gods that HM makes it out for all of us!
