People who wear hair systems show what they achieved on hair system forums - again no one is paying them. Most people who post on both forums are looking for advice. That was my point.

I have two good friends who are around my age and both of them are complete solid NW1's with no family history of Androgenetic Alopecia. I have thinning in a NW6 pattern and both of them know that my hair loss bothers me a lot. They just tell me that I'm going to be fine and one of them even said to me that women find bald/balding men more attractive than the ones with hair.

I was one time hanging out with one of them and they got a new hat. They took off their hat and asked me if their hair looked fine because they told me about being worried of getting hat hair. I just gave them a look of, "Wow… I've got the hair of an old man in my early twenty's and you're worried about your jet-black NW1 hair looking a little flat?"

This is one of the main reasons why I hardly ever take advise from anyone anymore, it's because most of the time they hardly even know what they're talking about.

I know what you mean, but at the end of the day, people have egos and have a hard time being empathetic in the big picture, while being humble and grateful for what they have.

I can use myself as an example in douchebaggery: at my worst I was a NW3.5/NW4 with diffuse thinning and I kept thinking to myself I would be happy if I were a NW3 but with solid thick-ish hair with decent density, so I could at least style longer hair in such a way that I wouldn't appear to be balding. My diffusing was so bad I couldn't grow my hair to be longer than a centimetre or so, lest it would be all thin and wispy in appearance.

Well, I bounced back to nigh NW1 range on the meds. After a while, you get used to the "new you" and the hair greed can become real. I've had a few days where I've had a bad hair day, as it were, but even then I wouldn't appear to be balding to the public - not even the Norwood-spotting pro crew, yet I would be annoyed at the situation. It would simply look like a case of bad haircut/bad hair day in general. The old me would have slapped this greedy fvcker so badly for being an ungrateful douche. It's realizing my own greed during moments like those that make me be grateful for what I have.

So in a way, with the "hat hair", from your friends' PoV, they would probably legitimately think that their hair looks like ****, because they're comparing it to themselves at their best. It's rage-inducing, yes, but I guess that's how humans can be. A bit offtopic on my part but I felt like I had to undergo some penance.

I see Jimmy. Then again all forums attract scammers/advertisers and this concerns pills, creams, systems, doctor recommendations, you name it. The industry makes its money this way.

It's the same old 'be happy with what you have' nonsense. Yes, it has been scientifically proven that those who appreciate what they have are a lot happier than those who don't. The point is, when people generalize that statement with everything, then it becomes nonsense. I have hair loss, should I be grateful and happy for that?

What do you mean by the "new you"? Do you mean by getting your old self back? What I mean by that is the hair, not personality. It seems like this 'hair greed' is the normal part of yourself that would love to have your hair back to its completely healthy state before hair loss struck.

A few bad hair days is something that has happened to everyone. But what about a bad hair day everyday? It's plain frustrating. Not every male human in their early twenty's has thinning in a NW6 pattern with the back and sides already greying. The state of my hair is in really bad shape for someone my age. My Androgenetic Alopecia is also showing signs of DUPA because there's also thinning on the sides of my head, so I wouldn't be a good candidate for a hair transplant if I ever want to get one. Again, I have hair loss, should I be grateful and happy for that along with having old man hair in my early twenty's?

Yes, it can be extremely rage-inducing with how delusional people's perspectives can be, especially when practically no one cares about men's hair loss.

Yes we all want our hair to be back to its normal density just like we want a perfect wife and kids, money, nice house, car, job etc. But at one point people like Fred and others who have somehow gained or at least maintained should feel content at the least. There are people like me on whom meds don't work and hair transplant is not a viable option. Of course that doesn't really help in making you feel better but at least you shouldn't be obsessing about hair if you have half decent coverage which is going to stay that way for the near future.

A buddy I went to school with is still skating and he is the same age that I am, but suffers no hair loss. That's another thing that sucks about hair loss, we can no longer feel comfortable enjoying certain things. I now feel out of place when before hair loss I never even thought about my age. I wonder how ridiculous I looked a couple of weeks ago playing laser tag with the young kids???

It was pretty fun though. If you guys haven't done it I recommend you give it a try.

Nes, I read in another tread that you're a NW2. You're dealing with hair loss, I understand that, but being bald is a whole nother ball game. Come back with your advice after you've crossed the NW5 threshold. Until then you're arguments and judgements are naive.

Everything changes when you pass the NW4 threshold, people will see you as bald, and will treat you as a bald person.

In the eyes of society, a bald man is: a loser, a man with poor hygiene, an old man, an ugly man, a pathetic man, a desperate man (if he tries to act like he's NW1).

Fred, I just want to point out that, although hairloss is compared to those unfixable(no real cure), there are other thing that have the same effect as hairloss; causing other to think you are the things you listed. Trust me I have been there.

i'm 5'6 and 125 pounds. that is kind of hard to do. ****ing hell i went to a college the other day and saw not one single ****ing bald guy. i was so glad i had my hat on cuz there was boatloads of young cute girls as well
