Suddenly thinning very fast whilst 11 years of finasteride and 12 years on min

Over time on Finasteride my morning wood eventually disappeared and as @losingbattle88 has put it I do not want to risk more severe sides with Dutasteride.

I can tolerate the mild sides with finasteride but I don't think its healthy nuking your DHT. finasteride & minoxidil gave me the years of perfect hair I wanted and I can now accept my hair slowly getting worse.

Havent used finasteride for some months and I get morning wood daily and random erections at 36. On finasteride this never happened.

Yeah I'm pretty sure loss off morning wood is a very understated side of finasteride and it is definitely not healthy. For me it slowly crept up over they years to the point where they are now non existent. I am just hoping more significant sides don't creep in, hence why i will never consider dutasteride.

Eventually I want to get off all meds and accept the balding but I am not quite ready to let go of my hair.

Well. Im gonna try topical finasteride twice a week to start with. And wait and see.

I just added my first dutasteride capsule to minoxidil 60ml full bottle tonight - will try this per bottle for some months see what happens again (this time only 1 capsule not 2 which gave me ab pains sides).

Losing ground on finasteride after 25 years and minoxidil after almost 40 years of usage.

I did - got the lower ab pains bad doing that. I continued to take the daily finasteride. Had to stop. No real results but only about 3-4 months of trial.

I take 1.25 finasteride (25 years on this) from a Proscar tab, 5% minoxidil (minoxidil 2% started 1985 and then when 5% came out in 90’s started) usually 2x per day, nizoral maybe 3x per week, and red light in morning now 5-10min to scalp for about 1.5 years. Take a variety of healthy vitamins so definately not deficient in anything.

Tried the essential oils (about 5) added to minoxidil for about a year and no change with this really.

New addition is 1 tab open dutasteride to minoxidil will see how this goes.

I’m a heavy diffuse thinner all over and crown is pretty well gone now - the frontal is decent and still diffuse even with a 300 graft transplant at 32 almost 28 years ago, so still looks acceptable. Treatments started with 2% minoxidil in about 1985 I think but the major ones started in about 1999 with finasteride and minoxidil 5%.

For sure the combo of finasteride and minoxidil saved me. I have older brothers who most likely are not on anything and they are almost completely gone now.
