what dosages of tamoxifen would you all recommend to combat 100-250mg spironolactone ED?
I am on dutasteride 2.5mg ED and it is not working but I'm not having side effects. I never got sides with finasteride either so I got a free testosterone test. My free test was 340 and the normal range is 80-180 and for those wondering my total testosterone was 1130ng/dl. Considering I have high free test then would I have to also take a higher dosage of spironolactone to get benefits? And what dosage would you all recommend for me to avoid gyno. NOTE: do not tell me to get on another SERM/AI since this is the only one I have access to and I am keen on sticking with it!

I still need to say it for other people that read this - tamoxifen isn't safe for hair. Raloxifene is safe for hair (as far as we know) and is more effective at preventing gyno.

OK now to your real question. You'll probably need 10-20mg per day. Start with 10mg. Watch out for indicators of breast growth - sensitive nips, itchy nips, breast ache. If you experience those for more than a week then bump up the dosage to 20mg. Sometimes 30mg is needed for a short duration.

Five patients experienced complete resolution of breast and nipple pain on tamoxifen 10 mg/day within the first month. The other patient had to be treated with 30 mg/day for 1 additional month, which subsequently resulted in pain resolution.

The same group showed that 10mg could be as effective as 20mg tamoxifen with less side effects

How do you know that ralaxofin is safe for hair?

Tamoxifene is crap for hairs by increasing testosterone and blocking estrogens receptors. But if you want use it with 10 or 20mg a/day should be better enough

It's not a known side effect and hasn't been found in any studies. Hair loss is a well known side effect of tamoxifen so it would have been watched for in raloxifene trials and it still hasn't been found. Just Google "raloxifene hair loss", hardly anything. Search "tamoxifen hair loss", a million results.

I'd just switch to cypro, its way less harsh on breast tissue imo.

Cypro isn’t legal in the US and customs would block it, trust me I’ve tried multiple times

Did you wait until the signs of gyno were present or start taking raloxifene prophylactically? I've been using estrogen for ~3 months and think I better add ralox just in case my gyno warning signs are not as pronounced compared to others. Are there any drawbacks or major side effects with ralox?

What dosage of spironolactone should I start out at and how often to increase? I’m starting tomorrow, keep in mind I have insanely aggressive male pattern baldness so I will probably need to take more.

I started raloxifene early. I'm on 100mg bicalutamide so gyno was very likely to happen (and at that dose there's still a small chance with raloxifene). The only side effect I've had is occasional night sweats (hot flashes at night). 3 of them since I started raloxifene a month and a half ago. Not a big deal to me. Those are supposed to lessen after the first 6 months of raloxifene. Raloxifene also raises risk of blood clots but that's more common in women.

Sorry I'm not familiar with spironolactone doses.

Btw I think your plan for topicals is better. If you have RU like your other post mentions then start with that. Duta + topical RU should be good. You need to add only 1 thing at a time so that you know what causes side effects.

Do you think it would be a good idea to stay on 100mg Spironolactone (low dose) temporarily for the next 2-3 weeks or so until I get hands on my topical ingredients? And would staying on Spironolactone for that long cause a permanent drop in testosterone or would my testosterone revert back when I stopped using spironolactone? I plan on doing this because 3 weeks ago I was NW0 and now I'm NW1 and am diffuse thinning really bad so I'm just trying to minimize the chance my hair gets damaged more by the time the ingredients for the topical come. What do you think?

3 weeks should be fine, T levels should revert back afterwards. If you start that, start low like 25mg and increase it every few days so that you get used to the diueretic effect of spironolactone. Restoring hair is slow so think about the long haul, make sure your plans are sustainable.

I remember a guy here who tried spironolactone after failing with the standard treatments he posted before and after photos where you can appreciate he regrowth thick long hairs but also developed a woman face. It isnt the castration and gyno the only side effects. Something to take in consideration.

I think you are the only person on this forum who is using ralaxofene. Therefore I would like to ask you few questions. What was your hair condition prior to Cypro? How long have you been on Cypro? What is the condition of your hair now? How long have you been taking ralaxofene? What is the status of your gyno? Did you ever shed because of ralaxofene? I am asking these questions because I am Norwood 3 and using spironolactone for the last three months. No improvement of hair so far. But I am growing boobs which is very painful and makes me shy.

-What was your hair condition prior to Cypro?
Norwood 1 or 2. Just the temples are receded. It's not bad on its own but it's noticeably worse compared to my brother.

-How long have you been on Cypro?
I'm on bicalutamide, 100mg/day. I've been on it for 2.5 months

-What is the condition of your hair now?
I can see the beginning of temple regrowth. A few velous hairs have grown dark.

-How long have you been taking ralaxofene?
1.5 month, 60mg/day

-What is the status of your gyno?
No visible growth. I've had some nip sensitivity this past week. I'm hoping that it goes it away. Gyno surgery is still a possibility.

-Did you ever shed because of ralaxofene?
No, not at all.

I'm waiting until I reach 6 months so that I can make a topic and show the results. It's kinda early right now. I've seen other people on here with tamoxifen or raloxifene but they always wait until gyno has already started. SERMs are better taken preventatively.

Alright, I just took my first 50mg of Spironolactone today. About 4 hours later my left chesticle started to hurt a bit. Is this sign of gynecomastia? Or am I being BDD? I don't get my SERM until the 18th of February because I just ordered raloxifine and cancelled my tamoxifen. What should I do guys?

EDIT: Tonight is the first time I did not have that shitty DHT itch in my crown area so 50mg must be doing a lot?

50mg is very low..and yes you have gyno and it will get worse with spironolactone. But with surgery you can extirp the totally of the gland and it will never growth even with high estrogens.
