TheShopKeeper, thank you for your update. I would have to state that a large majority of posts describe an experience similar to yours: Hair loss has not gotten worse or has stabilized; hair texture, skin, overall mood/attitude has improved significantly.

It is also worth noting, as someone reminded me, that we may have, in fact, achieved regrowth, but it is very thin and light colored, virtually invisible to the naked eye; present nevertheless though.

This, for me, has been the most frustrating part of my equation: How to brings these vellus hairs to term. I have been trying some natural topicals in search of an answer. Will discuss my experiences next year.

I look forward to your coming posts. I have these small hairs in frontal region that even minoxidil is not beefing up. They may just be dying follicles.

I have attached a photo to show you what they look like.

One more question The Natural. When did you start noticing a lower amount of shedding? I think I am shedding a little more now then prior to going on this regiment but like any treatment I think waiting at least 6 months to see if things are better or worse.

TSK, I was shedding terribly before I started. Then my hair loss stabilized, and I experienced some regrowth of very fine hair.

Seven or so years ago, I started out with just curcumin, resveratrol, and vitamin E (tocotrienols). It may be best to begin with just a few (three or four) supplements. Then add others one at a time to better assess their effect on the hair/scalp.

So I'm definitely experiencing sexual sides from this regimen, and I think it's the curcumin.

It is extremely unlikely that curcumin causes any significant sexual side effects in the vast majority of people that take it, as the two countries that uses it as a heavy constituents of their diet comprise 30% of the world population. They didn't get there with impotence.

Of note: This regimen, beyond its impact on my hair, has helped with two other inflammation based health issues that I have been dealing with for some time; much appreciation for that.

I am pleased to read about that, curiosity. There has been a campaign by some Finasteride, Minoxidil, and Nizoral users to discredit many of these natural alternatives, as you can see from the negative (red) rating that I have been given.

If there were some particular posts in this thread that you found informative, please be sure to give (rate) them a "thumps up." :)

Hi there Natural. First of all, I want to thank you for sharing your regime and trying to help us out.

I started your plan in Mid-September of 2012, and have been taking (all) the pills religiously ever since.

Unfortunately, this has not worked for me and it has been 6 months since I started the regime. My hair loss has remained steady, and I'm kind of bummed about it.

Again, thank you for the idea, but I feel like I should look into acceptance and move on with my life.

rudimentary, you are welcome, and I am sorry to read that your hair loss continues. "Acceptance" is also an option. I have two younger brothers who tried some topicals, but eventually decided to just shave their remaining hair off, and sport the Michael Jordan - Bruce Willis look, and they look fine. I, on the other hand, do not look very good at all without hair, so I must continue this fight .

Next year? I can't be the only one curious to know what you're using...NOW :D

Wait..it is next year. I'll just :sulkoff: until your next post.

Did I read you're going to give that PGD2 Inhibitor(or is it more than one) from Iron Dragon a try?

The three month mark will be in early March, so I'll let y'all know something then. This year (actually at the end of last year) I decided to become more aggressive in my search of effective topicals.

The PGD2 Inhibitor looks interesting doesn't it.

Man, male pattern baldness is such a complicated sport. I wish one day we truly do understand what the Prolactin - DHT - PGD2 link is.

Do you use a ketaconazole shampoo Natural?

Yep..but I'm waiting to see how others respond after a month or two. It's not "natural"..but..

I was looking at one of my favorite supplements and was tempted to start putting it on my head: https://www.swansonvitamins.com/swanson-ultra-fermented-superfood-complex-preb-8-fl-oz-237-ml-liquid :woot:

I stopped using medicated shampoo (e.g. head and shoulders, t-gel) after curcumin and resveratrol (virtually) eliminated my chronic dandruff. Probably wouldn't hurt to find a decent natural shampoo. I won't use Nizoral.

Thanks..I just noticed your post on getting the bad reviews etc so thought I'd help out. If it were me there wouldn't be these goofy ratings things in these forums

On topicals..I wonder what The Skin Revolution guy will be able to cook up....

How do you take curcumin? And resveratrol is it capsules or natural stuff?

I've restarted my improved health cleanse after wondering whether my on-off poor diet (used to be obese and occasionally relapse into eating binges) has anything to do with acceleration of hair loss. Currently back on having 4+ eggs a day, 5+ fruit and veg, probiotics, raw ginger and cider vinegar. Also cut out most dairy. Let's see if that helps.

4 eggs a day, whoa! That seems a bit much. What kind of effect has it had on your health?

I found it interesting to read about the negative effect saturated fat can have on equol production: "Eating a high level of saturated fats can kill off equol-producing probiotic bacteria in your colonic flora in less than 24 hours. This will effectively halt equol production until the colonic flora can reconfigure. You must commit to eating less than 20 grams of saturated fat per day in order to be an effective equol-producer ."

Could explain why Asian populations experienced more hair loss after WWII - the westernization of Japan, for example.

A brief on the topicals that I have tried to date:

1. Revivogen - messy; did not stop my hair loss; the shampoo smelled nice; grade: D

2. ThermaScalp - relatively light; cayenne pepper/herbal smell; thickened my existing hair, nothing more; grade: C

3. Siddatech, Flower Essences - water-like with zero residue; not sure what this product did for my hair, to be honest, but I liked using it; grade: C+

4. Capillogain® - dries quickly, leaving a somewhat flaky residue; earthy smell; caused some initial shedding that eventually regrew, but nothing more; grade: C

Next up, CG210.

CG210 looks interesting: http://www.altopharma.com/#!ingredients-and-properties
I noticed that combo has been posted about before around these forums..but don't have time right now to read if anyone used it etc

Yes, I think so too. A downer is the price though. The other products were inexpensive, so I didn't really mind, but this stuff costs two-three times as much in some cases. We'll see what happens.
