The negative prejudice against baldness in Hollywood is pissing me off

You haven't seen Kingpin, have you? I suggest you refrain from making comments, it's very clear you live in denial about social disgust towards baldness.

I didnt say what you said wasnt true just that the excuse would come out...the point i was trying to make there is always something hence the two and a half men thing i said...if alan was bald the same thing would be said but because he isnt...its another excuse...again i never said what you said wasnt true did i?...and anyway isnt that the film where he lives happily ever after? but we miss that bit out right? right?...and you telling me that we cant have "loser" characters what ae balding? or bald? they are ment to be "hero" type characters in every film they are in? come on...and again with the denial bull you are saying there is people out there what "hate" the bald look? captain obvious strikes again.

What are you talking about? They made Roy Munson a successful bowling prodigy with a mane of hair at the beginning only to have him end up as a washed up loser with a fat belly living at poverty level in a motel, a bald head and, cherry on top; a comb-over. Why do you think that is? They drove home the notion that to have everything in life includes hair and to be a bottomfeeding low level social class loser means to also be bald. You think society doesn't view baldness with disgust or humiliation? Here, watch this:

These guys on national television are completely humiliating the guy over his genetics. Why do you think that is? I've seen one of my FEMALE coworkers laugh at another balding WOMAN. You know how hard it is to keep my actual feelings inside instead of giving her ****? I kept quiet because I didnt want to bring attention to MY receding hairline. I've got two women in my office, the other recently said 'whats NOT wrong with bald men?'

Hollywood perpetuates the idea that baldness is disgusting. Don't even try to deny that. You wanna use the idea that some celebrities are doing well bald? Yeah? Well, lets take a look at how many other celebrities completely fell off the grid when they went bald... does John Travolta not ring a bell? When's the last time you saw him get any major parts for films? He's laughable now. How about Billy Zane? Jude Law? Or maybe a lesser known actor Michael Deluise? All these guys had their careers vanish once their hair started to go.

Did you even read my message? again WHERE did i say that what you said isnt true? again the point im making is the excuse would come out...if Alan was bald in two and a half men you are telling me you wouldnt be using the same excuse?...well? but because he has hair its another excuse and noone thinks nothing of it...Alan from that show is divorced lives with his brother Charlie you see him go on sites cause he cant get laid etc he is made out to be a loser...but its different cause he has hair right?...anyway the celebrities you mentioned? if i remember correct they still get roles Travolta got a hairtransplant Jude Law has being going bald for like ever not recent other two i admit i dont know much about so cant say...and the comb over look (the look in the film) is horrible in my opinion its a look one gives to themselves its the reason i shave my head i dont like the balding outgrown look...but the bald look?...well...thats a different story.

And lol the vids i seen before you got BALD men taking the mick at the fact LeBron putting his head band all the way up to hide his hairloss they say "come on home" cause they want him to shave his head and stop worrying cause they have been through it...you use the wrong vids just lol.

Well the aging process is generally unkind to most people. Still no one can refute the historically accepted sentiment that people are far more attractive looking with a full crop of hair.

Best example in my opinion: Jean-Marc Barr from The Big Blue.

Nothing new there. Bald men can't be aesthetic. They can only be rugged/masculine.

In this case the guy you posted doesn't have the facial angularity (no cheekbones/bodyfat too high) to pull off the bald look, hence he looks like a potato. The same applies to Liam Hemsworth. Good looking guy but if he went bald he is cooked. His Brother Chris would look decent bald as he has more suited features, including way better cheekbones (which are very important to give something for the eyes to latch onto).

Found this looking up something else

MARK STRONG

For Mark Strong, hair loss was not an easy ride, but he soon learned that when one door closes, another one opens. "Certainly, there was a moment when I thought my life was effectively over. I couldn't believe that I was going to have to walk round for evermore without any hair on my head," he said. "But then, very quickly, I got used to it and found that it was actually quite useful because you could use it for character. Villains in particular..." It doesn't hurt that the look also suits him very, very well!

Sure hes listed as "hot" which honestly I dont see it and have no idea who he is but really that one line..."Villians in particular" says it all.

No one does the crazy, godfather-esque, horseshoe villian quite like Mark Margolis!

Mark Strong looks like the poor man's Stanley Tucci.

When did Stanley Tucci get depicted as attractive??? Hes not ugly but ever since Hunger Games he is listed as hot?
Lets not forget they gave him insane hair in Hunger Games....

..,I might add long before Hunger Games he wore a" Fabioesque" hair piece in Shall We Dance. Although more romance/ comedy than drama I thought his character successfully and humorously portrayed the conflicted feelings of a bald man attempting to come to terms with his angst outside his own normal zone of comfort. A small victory tale of sorts. The sort of milestones we all seriously strive for everyday down here in the Big Baldlands.:)

Not true at all, Patrick Stewart, Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, Bruce Willis. If anything bald men are actually over represented.

I agree with you. There are some bald characters in strong influential roles. House of Cards may have been just a coincidence with Peter Russo being bald and weak also Doug Stamper. I don't think the director was looking specifically for bald men.

Like in life, as well as on the silver screen, as bald men we cannot help but "stand out". The stark difference is that the bald actor cheerfully welcomes his viewers attention. Oddly he may even benefit. Chances are he may never receive any critical accolades for his performance(s) but there's a fairly good chance he will be remembered as "Oh You Know, That Bald Actor So And So". Whereas here outside of La La Land we bald men are usually found busy running for cover away from the threatening glares of the critical masses.
