I deeply apologize for yet another seti thread. I have been on the fence about seti for months now, emailing suppliers and then not following through. I am thankful that users are occasionally updating us in a few different threads. Unfortunately, the responses have been sporadic, spread out, and difficult to track. Many users have also seemingly moved onto other treatments. It would be fantastic to learn if anyone besides @westonci is having success with Seti.

If willing, please respond with:
  • Your supplier
  • Dose
  • Length of time on Seti
  • Self-assessment of results
  • Anything else you think is relevant
Lastly, I want to thank @westonci for being a guinea pig and providing us with so much background on prostaglandin related treatments.

-Lyphar
-1 gm./day (500 mgs. 2 x per day)
-on third week
-no reduction in scalp itch or shedding yet
-pretty sure the seti I have is legit since I've had insomnia the 2nd and 3rd day I was on and also have dry eyes which is also a common side effect of the drug; shedding has increased the past few days but I'm not sure if it's caused by the seti

-Lyphar
-500mg daily (250mg every 12 hours)
- Been on seti for about 8 weeks. Scalp Itch reduced by about 90%. Hairline has been staying the same but it’s also too early to tell.
-Sleep issue for first night haven’t had a problem yet
-Had a shed that lasted like 2-3 weeks since then hair fall has reduced dramatically. (Run fingers through my hair and pinch my fingers together to catch any strays) I also see how many hairs on stuck to my hands when I wash my hair as well.

When did you noticed that it worked? How many days/weeks..

A bit over a month might not be enough.

hey guy how much do you pay seti from Lyphar ?
The quote they gave me was 100g for USD 670 (USD 13.40/day)

Wei quoted 200g for USD USD 1100 (USD 11/day). I have seen people say Lyphar offered a similar quote for 200g.

I purchase in small quantities which is probably why they charge me alot. 1st order I bought 30 gms. @ $7/gm. and my 2nd order I purchased 40 gms. and they charged me $6.50/gm. They have better deals if you purchase 100+ gms. I'm only taking 1 gm./day so if I increase my dosage I'll probably buy in bulk. I know this stuff is very expensive, but unfortunately I'm so desperate since my hair has been falling out like crazy I'm willing to fork out the $$$ just to get a relief from this accelerated hair loss.

you guys realise that falling hair has been dead since 3 months ago right ?

Really?? Now it makes sense why people say you need to use treatments for a few months to see if it works. I guess I always assumed that if you respond favorably to a treatment, results should be noticed within days.

Do explain (please)
the hair you shed are in the telogen phase , which lasts several months
while in the telogen phase the hair dont have access to the blood supply , they are essentially dead and just waiting to be pushed out by the new hair growing underneath them

It's due to the hair cycle. When your hair enters the telogen phase. He is mostly correct although things can make you shed faster than that.

Shedding is also a pretty poor indicator of balding. But for many of us who are diffusing it is all we can go by: https://www.hairlosstalk.com/news/education/understanding-shedding-hair-loss-treatment/

The underlined section was my concern

Min stimulates telogen follicles, resulting in rapid progression to anagen follicles. Studies show that finasteride synchronizes the hair cycle and thus causes shedding to synchronize, where the follicles may not reach independence until 2 years on finasteride. I don't have a study in front of me but I believe topical AAs do the same thing. More info: http://www.hairlosshelp.com/forums/messageview.cfm?catid=11&threadid=98200

Many factors can cause rapid Telogen Effluvium. Drugs, poor nutrition, Iron deficiency/poisoning, stress, etc.

Things that you can see quickly (if the treatment works), in under a week:
-reduction in scalp itch
-reduction in shedding
-improvement in the health and quality of existing hair

Things that take a long time and need several hair cycles (months):
-deminiaturization of hairs that have lost significant diameter
-vellus to terminal
-any significant growth on bald or near-bald areas

As of today it's been exactly 3 weeks since I've been on seti with no reduction in shedding or scalp itch. I'm truly cursed.

Also not really.
The dht starts something similar to an inflammation process in the hair bulb. It can take months until the scalp has calmed down even when the treatment is working well.

I saw an improvement in itching and sebum more than one year into treatment.

You really can't tell if something is working in the first months.

I dropped Ru for two months (in Feb) and later finasteride for three weeks to test something.
Now one month into full regimen again shedding itching ect. hits like hell.
So as @Min0 says it's just very anticyclic.

With seti I would expect results even later as I think it's slighly weaker than Finasteride.
