I agree, but looks remain the cornerstone through and through.
If one of the spouses lets himself/herself go, it really is the biggest deal breaker.
If my girlfriend became fat, I just wouldn't want to touch her anymore, I would be disgusted by her.
The same thing happens when a woman's boyfriend goes bald. For many women, it's just unbearable.

Of course being nice and being interesting is important, but come on, it's not like it's something that's hard to achieve.
Every person is interesting to some extent. People who have 0 hobbies, 0 interests, 0 things that they appreciate are extremely rare.
