I'm from the UK and was wondering where other people from the UK get there finasteride from if they order online. I just bought some from this site http://drugshopforyou.com/item.php?id=177
but I'm not sure if they have a good reputation as I have not read any posts from anyone else on here who has bought from them. Has anyone from the UK bought from United pharmacies or Inhouse Pharmacy and had any additional costs added at customs due to VAT etc. Also is it legal to buy drugs from these companies in the UK. I wish I could get propeia from my doctor but unfortunately its just to expensive for me right now. Just found another company called 4rx.com which seems to have quite a good website has anybody heard of them?

I have just begun finasteride myself and bought Finpecia from Inhouse Pharmacy. I am confident they are legit as lots and lots of people use Inhouse on this site and the pills are made by the respectable Cipla company.

They cost me £13 a month ( 30 pills, including shipping)

Unfortunately, to buy more than 30 you have to pay a customs charge, so untill i find out the cost of this i'll continue buying them monthly.

Jake, i'd say Inhouse is probably the cheapest/safest generic for UK peeps.

Boots on the High Street do genuine Propecia for £30 a month and there's no customs or shipping charges to pay.

I don't have much money as I am unemployed because of long term health problems. Being unemployed and losing my hair isn't doing much for my self-esteem right now and I don't really want to pay more than I have to as I'm really quite broke. I'm not sure how much it would be to get it from my doctor but I'm sure it would be much more expensive than buying online. Think it depends on the amount you buy. It's goes up with the cost of the meds.

Another alternative for a UK supply is Dr Ashcroft. He prescribes Proscar or generic finastride (a bit cheaper). Because it is 'prescribed' it is definitely genuine. I used to buy from abroad but various taxes made it prohibitive.

Go on the Boots website and search for "Hair Retention Program". It should show you your nearest store participating.

Ring them up and book an appointment. The Pharmacist in the shop is allowed give you a prescription so no you don't need to see your doctor.

I don't know what the cost is from other places but it's £90 for 3 months or £45 month by month.

I didn't know that generic finasteride was available at Pharmacists in this country but that may be worth checking out too as long as you can be sure it's genuine.

There shouldn't be any Customs charges as long as the sender doesn't give the Customs declared value at much over 18 quid or so. Email them and ask the sender if they are willing to under declare the value.

I tried that with a company for Proscar and they didn't/wouldn't.

Go to your GP and beg him if you have to prescribe you 5mg on a private prescription. I do this and pay £13 for what is effectively 3 months worth, more if you take 5 pieces per day!

Yeah I agree, a reasonable doctor should prescribe you proscar (or any other 5mg finasteride) with no problems and it will cost you less and you won't have to deal with customs.

I paid about 50 ish quid for 180 strips from inhouse and no issues it did take about 2 weeks or so though for them to finaly arrive... But I did have to pay customs/delivery charge from royal mail it was like £9 or 10

That other place linked looks very good prices and 100 more tabs but dunno cos thats propecia tabs? I know there similar but everyones going for the Fins since there less sides or cheaper apparantly !

Either way I see it 180 finasteride tabs gives u 6 months supply and then another 50-60 quid for the rest, id say the Big 3 for any Uker is gonna hit about just over £200 quid which aint too shabby if it can give u your hair or better conditioning back

After searching the net and finding this forum I knew differently so I went back and saw another GP, but they refused me a private prescription and were actually very rude. What should I do now? The boots scheme is pretty pricey unless it's propecia and minoxidil, etc? Do I have to keep seeing GP's until the surgery gives me a warning or I'm successful?

It wont cost you any less with a prescription from your doctor than it will at Boots I wouldn't have thought. You'll still have to pay the cost of the meds at whatever pharmacy you go too.

Your Doctor sounds like a dick though.

Just througt I'd let you guys know I decided to go back with my Mother and he took me seriously this time. I've got a prescription for Nizoral (good as I'll need this eitherway) and I'm having a blood test on friday to make sure it's not a thyroid problem as I am underweight.

THAT SAID, try finasteride (PropeciaTM) first. It's the only drug FDA approved for hair loss.

Dutasteride has not yet been approved for anything other than benign prostatic hypertrophy and there are no signs that it will be approved for hair loss in the near future. Many speculate that its clinical trials probably demonstrated an unacceptable prevalence of adverse reactions.
