It's been shown that needling works without minoxidil as well. There's the Chinese study published last year in which needling alone was marginally better than minoxidil alone. Of course, needling + minoxidil outperformed either of then alone by far.
Thank you. If you find the study please link it

There's no doubt that the 2nd picture looks like a decent improvement. How much of that is due to having it grown out 3 extra weeks and camera lightning (i mean your hair literally went from brown to black lol) I don't know, but it looks promising :)

It’s taken with the same phone, in the same room with the same light, can’t really do much more than that

What’s funny is my hair does seem to be darker and my beard does aswell, it usually has a ginger tinge but looks more black hmm..

Progress update :
I’m near the end of week 5
First pic is from 2 weeks ago
Second pic is now

Looks and feels to me my hair is gradually getting thicker, still, with having long hair it is really hard to keep progress and get my hair exactly the same as previous picture, I’m still contident there is regrowth, crown seems to be slacking but I’ve started concentrating on needling most in the crown now see if something happens, I also noticed as I left it 10 days to needle now that my itch starts to come back the lomger I leave it before I start to needle again
I’ve dropped sandalor now and only needle + minoxidil, so my regime is:

Needle 2mm every 7 days 2mm with pen
minoxidil twice a day ( apart from needling days)

Going to add trivon when it is released
Hair does look darker! But again, it's too early to look for significant improvement.

Yeh, I’m not looking for significant improvement at this stage, just looking for something to be happening so I know this is working or not and tweaking my regime to maximise results

agree I think there may be something good going on there. Just stick to your routine and don't let others make you change your mind. It takes a very long time to see results . Most people are discouraged after a couple of months but that's not how this is supposed to work if you want to fight hairloss.
male pattern baldness is a daily battle. gl

That's disappointing!
Hopefully someone with stabilized hairloss could try dermastamping every 1-2 weeks and give us updates at the 3 and 6 month mark, without the use of minoxidil. Or perhaps an actual study! (Though I believe this may have been done with decent results in India already)
I'm derma stamping with 1.5mm weekly without anything else other than Keto shampoo (and head massages). Just done my 4th session today.

Derminator session two complete.

1.5mm depth
Fast mode
9 pin

The crown didn’t hurt as much this time.

However we did the front section this time and it hurt like a son of a b**ch.

I had to think “no pain no gain” to keep me going

'A total of 12 microneedle treatments were performed every 2 weeks with 2ml 5% minoxidil delivery in group 3 during each microneedle treatment'

Notice that they were using minoxidil on microneedling days.

What study is that from?

Use something like Lidokain on your temples.

It's been 4 days since I last did my 7th session and the flaking seems to be non existant now. Usually by this time I'd get tons of flaking.

One thing I can say from my last session was that I felt it was a bit more difficult as the hair grew longer. Maybe the session wasn't effective because of that? I don't know.

in my case I don't really look at the duration. I just focus on the numbers: 8 times (back and forth) in all 4 directions (if dermarolling) and 8 times if dermastamp(my hairline). tbh You can dermaroll during 1hour but with the worst technique ever, but you can also take a couple of minutes and have the best technique and efficiency.. that comes with experience^^. I use dermaroller for 1 year and 1 half and it takes me few minutes to do my whole scalp (al norwood 6 area). It's all routine at the end

A year and a half is a long time of dermarolling. Is it working, any visible results? Thx

Yeah you need extra cartridges, if I remember correctly it comes with 1 of each type (1, 9, and12 needles). Here's a link, https://owndoc.shop/Dermaneedling/Derminator digital needling device/Derminator 2/ .

Buy some 9 and 12 needle which is what you would use on your hair (I use 12 needle). I would suggest buying at least 5 extra cartridges so that you don't have to worry about it for a long time. Some cartridges I've broke after a few uses, and some last 6 months.

How many times did you use one cartridge? I think (if I remember correctly) for the short time I used dr Pen, they were saying in the instructions to only use one time. Of course, I'm not sure if there is any drawback at all using multiple times...Thx

Does anyone know if it's possible to do microneedling when you have an inflamed scalp (possibly seb derm) that already stings and itches a little?

good maintenance overall and I dont use any anti androgen. l also dropped minoxidil months ago and did not see any shedding. tbf I have a diffuse pattern It s not as aggressive as receiding can be , I don't know if my hairloss would have stagnated or not without treatment. that said I added dermastamp like 2 months ago and I think it’s a better alternative. I see some terminal. You can really press hard all the way through and it’s quite painless unlike dermaroller you cry using it. I think dermastamp leaves really “better” wounds than dermaroller. So I don’t know why guys using device such as derminator shouldnt see positive results. I wish I could buy one but I will have to save money first.^^

when I started dermarolling I had all kinds of skin issues, excess sebum, burning scalp,etc... I had dandruffs in the glass where I was rinsing dermaroller. after few months I realised the water was almost "clean" when I was rinsing. Can't be sure it's directly linked but I mean dermaroller did not make my situation worse...
