Forgive me if I come off as a newb, I am fresh on this board, but I have been doing some of my own research. One question that has been on my mind is whether or not any of these upcoming treatments help to resolve DUPA? If the upcoming treatments dont work on DUPA, wouldn't their still be a need for sites like this? Or am I completely off-base and several of the upcoming treatments do also address DUPA? A sense of direction/hope would be appreciated.

DUPA is different from male pattern baldness,

Wellcome

Are you now with dutas, etc.?
Was on minoxidil for 8 years and now added duta into minoxidil, so topical yes.

Also added vitamin d and cetizirin to the mix, still not sure if it works. Maybe gonna add finasteride too. Hardcore topical :)

If I shaved my head, I would probably stop taking hairloss meds.
A lot of luck

Don't forget the 500-10000 pages long threads of "Tsuji transplanted - full head Afro - Bob Ross style - 2 m long hair" threads that are going to pop up like crazy all over hairlosstalk.com

Well sh*t thanks a lot. There went my clever thread idea...

Are the optimism and euphoria in this thread justified or is it just the usual hype that comes and goes every couple of years? I m new to this hair loss nightmare and I just read a little about all these promising companies, specially the japanese hair cloning one, and it sounds too good to be true.

Have the researchers even overcome technical problems of hair cloning? In other threads I mostly see discussions about availability and prices, so that confuses me. Any simplified explanation of at what stage the cloning technology is atm? That seems like the most logical and best solution for balding, I dont believe in all these lotions and magical cremes. People should have learned about it from the past already.

Wrong thread buddy, look at the Tsuji and Replicel/Shiseido thread and how far they are :)

Yeah I saw it, but I didnt want to bump it since my question is more general. And I saw in this thread that people act like hair loss is already cured and its a matter of couple of years before it stops being an issue.

I dont have enough knowledge about medicine and hair loss advancements to evaluate it properly, those excerpts from studies mean nothing to me.

Until you have your head full of hairs again you are simply not cured, doesn't matter what someone says it was announced.

Tsuji is very likely to be the real deal and their treatment is planned to be released in 2020. They've stayed true to their timeline thus far and have seemingly solved their largest technical problem. Follica and shiseido/replicel may provide some benefit, but I'm much more skeptical of them. And most of the others are just straight hogwash.

Well.... it's still much better to have something tangible to hope for and to look forward to than to have nothing but hopeless uncertainty for the future. The knowledge that the cure may arrive in the next few years (which I've learned from this forum) keeps me sane tbh.

Sure hope is the only thing that we have, but I was just saying it ain't available now like some people suggest.
Still think better mantaining treatments will arrive in 2018 and the end is near in 2020 like you said.

Well, by this logic you won't believe that anything will work until a cure is in the marketplace and growing you a good of hair. That will take one and a half to 3 years. Keep your eye on Follica, Shiseido, and Tsuji.

Do you believe it works until you/a lot of people tried and it really worked ? Don't think so :)

All depends on how you play with the definition of belief. I think most of us are just saying that we believe it will work based on all the evidence presented. You present belief as more of an absolute certainty. I believe I could beat my 6 year old cousin in a fist fight because he is like 1/4 my size, but should I not because we have never fought? ;)

I hope you are right and that we will have a solution till 2023-2025 at least.

But then again, I read some other forums and sites and found posts dated in 2003-2005 where people were convincing others that the magical cure is about to be discovered in 2-3 years, so I m frustrated and skeptical about all this.

That has already been discussed quite a bit and a lot of skeptical people use that argument. But most people would agree that this is different. At least with Tsuji (in my opinion).

İf Tsuji will be ready for a reasonable price I'm going to get a shirt just for this trip.
Tsuji godmode or something like that. He should be awarded with a Nobel price for this.
