I would say I have made some positive progress within last two months, unfortunately I can't post pictures from the beginning of August because I broke my phone but I should be able to post last months and next months pics soon when I get my phone repaired.

Hair looks good mate, even if you only maintain then that is a feat in itself. Keep it going and keep us posted. :)

Hi guys,

Sorry about being lazy updater for lately. Well I just bought new phone but I can't post older pictures. Anyway here's my current situation:

FYI:
I've changed rogaine / cvs generic foam to liquid minoxidil from DS Laboratories. As you can see it gives me a bit flakes but since I moved to another country and it's ridiculously cheap comparing to rogaine that's the way I have to go. I was also a month without any minoxidil and I guess it affected about my temples. Nevertheless, I would say I'm quite happy for my current situation. All opinions are welcome and appreciated.

In my opinion from the beginning I've got some regrowth but nothing major. At least I've been lucky to maintain what I had. I've started to using creatine ( 2 weeks in ) because I work out. I guess it gave a shed or the other cause is the new minoxidil which I'm one month in after a month being without and I realized shedding today.

I also change proscar to a generic finasteride dosing is 1/8 of 5mg / day so it's about 0,625 a day, ( three months in ) and I haven't seen any changes. I guess I should still mention no sides from finasteride. I've had nice gains at the gym, I haven't gained fat as some ppl may have mentioned. Of course when you gain weight you also gain some fat but still nothing huge and surprising. Everything works as they should.

Since I haven't had any sides should I dose up finasteride maybe 1,25mg / day because there is no easy way to split finasteride 1/6 or 1/5 etc... I'm just thinking because 1mg/day is the "usual" dosage so maybe I could get better results with it ?

Btw, how I can edit the topics heading ? Thanks!

Dosed up from 0,5 to 0,625 in September which I was for four months and now dosed up to 1,25mg finasteride / day just for testing purposes. So far this is 4th day with 1,25mg and no changes about anything.

Not to sound like an asshat but it's kind of a relief to see that my friends has been losing their hairline / thinned also so I'm not only one anymore. Anyway, I feel it's too sensitive topic to bring up nevertheless there one friend of mine who did bring it up and we can kinda joke about it nowadays.

My front hairline seems to be filling at least and it seems 1,25mg is doing its magic or I'm just thinking. I'll post new pics at the end of Jan.

Hello guys! Here's my one year update
hair.jpg
And as I mentioned lately I started to gain new growth around this arena nicely.

As a side note: three weeks in 1,25mg finasteride without any other sides than watery semen. I guess I can live with that ;)

You will mantain your hair for at least 10 more years with finasteride/min ;)

Thank you for your input. Hopefully 1.25mg finasteride will give me more regrowth but that will be seen in the future.

I wish I felt that I could believe that... I mean, it's perfectly possible for it to be true, but I need more personal accounts of long-term male pattern baldness fighters to be sure. My personal 'game plan' is to use finasteride until a better mass market hairloss treatment emerges, whether a proper PGD2 blocking topical, or a legit release of CB-03-01, or 'big guns' like Histogen et al.

Kirby, as long as his male pattern baldness progression is very slow he will maintain long term. If you have slow progression, you will maintain. I have seen your hair and I definitely think as long as you stick with finasteride, you will maintain. You may not get back to baseline. I never did, but at least I have maintained for over 7 years. You have to understand age is a factor too. As we get older, hair density is slowly lost due to aging too. Supposed the mechanism behind thinning due to aging differs than genetic male pattern baldness. The only thing that may happen is his hairline might get thinner and recede higher slightly because these meds don't fight the hairline too well. I looked at some older pictures of myself and I definitely had signs of thinning way earlier than I thought. I never paid much attention to hair until I got older and really noticed it. I think I showed my first signs in my earlier 20's, never chose to use treatment until late 30's only because I thought nothing was wrong with my hair. The OP's hair and my hair are very similar so he has great chance to maintain for 10 years or more as long as he keeps taking finasteride. Minoxidil really won't help as much but it will be the icing on the cake as I mentioned in another thread. Kirby, your hair looks thicker or coarser than I ever had. I wish I had hair like yours as it makes great hair to transplant with less grafts. However, like you said, in the future we should have more treatments that could work at a different angle than finasteride, and help fight hair loss too. My suggestion, don't quit finasteride.

I dunno what's that talk about to assure something to me ? I may have stated at some point in some topic I might stop using finasteride. Anyway, I continued and at the moment I'm pleased with my situation. Do I have the hairline I had 6 years a go... No... Has it gone worse... No, and it seems to getting better a day by day once I dosed up finasteride from 0.5mg->0.625-> finally 1.25mg. Now I'm about one month in with 1.25mg and it seems I'm getting my old hairline back! Or at least getting some growth at the frontal line :) I'm still not hoping miracles but as long as I can keep my current hairline I will be satisfied. In the future when finasteride may stop working or if that ever happens I can smile in my mind and think I did everything I could and not everything can be postponed forever.

Just a small update. I don't have windows OS at the moment so I can't upload the newest pics. Unfortunately I think my progress haven't been as good as previously ( in a first year when I used proscar 0,5mg /day ) and I'm just thinking what would be the reason.
I dosed up finasteride for 1,25mg, I'm using some generic liquid minoxidil from UK by DS Laboratories ( previously I had generic CVS brand or Rogaine foam ), I did change also proscar to a generic finasteride.

I kept seeing improvements but now I'm thinking could there be a difference between different generic minoxidils and between a proscar and a generic 5mg finasteride since I think my hairloss has advanced a bit :(

Looking really good G2BB. Tough to tell with your current hair cut but seems you have maintained a really straight hairline. Are you on generic finasteride. (1.25mg Finpecia from Inhouse is what I use) I think I'm noticing a slowing in my shed however its still a long way off repaired. Cheers for the update anyway. Hope you're happy with your results.

I'm on some random generic finasteride. To be honest I lost some of the hairline before I realized what was happening and began big 3. If I compare my hairline 1,5 years ago and now I would say I've maintained it from there which is good of course but sad that I didn't start the regimen early enough to maintain full frontal hairline. According to my sister who's a hairdresser and cuts my hair she hasn't noticed any negative progress at least.

I'm glad about this summer's men hairstyle because I'm still able to pull it off quite nicely :)
