Why Do You Guys Keep Surfing This Forum? (genuine Question)

I frequent about 4 hair loss boards and I learn a lot and feel I have a lot to offer. I started losing my hair very young and have been through a lot with this and feel I have learned a lot over the years and can sometimes provide good information to people who are suffering.

Here, I can be myself. I don't have to hide my depression, self-hate. In the real world, I have to pretend to be someone I'm not. I have to pretend to not care that people with barely a high school education get to have better lives because they are pretty.

This forum is therapy.

what does that has to do with baldness? being pretty doesn't mean you'll have a better life, yeah you'll have an easier time with women, but not necessarily better lives, I've seen enough models and pretty people committing suicide due to depression or giving in to drugs due to whatever issues they had to know that being pretty doesn't mean you'll have a great life.

some things people say here simply do not reflect reality. the only thing you're right about is better life as in dating life, of course if someone is very attractive it will be easier for them with women, but that's pretty much all there is to it. and that also doesn't have anything to do with baldness, there are many people with full head of hairs who are not attractive and don't have the lives you people dream of with women.

I don't get what's the point of ranting and hating and feeling sorry for oneself, no one will ever feel better if they keep being stuck at feeling sorry and complaining about how life works. people should move on.

I will give you an example:

A few days back, I got upset because someone wrote something that hit my sense of self-worth. And I said: I will take a break from this forum. I logged in the next day and saw that I have received plenty of support from most regular members here. I am very thankful to them for it.

This is why I am here and I keep surfing because I feel less alone with all you guys around. I feel like I have friends and I am not the only one who is impacted so deeply by hair loss.

I'm not saying you should feel good about your hairloss, but people should live with it or accept it, or at least stop thinking about it.

It's hard to stop thinking about something when you're reminded of that something ever minute of every day.

I'd cut my left hand if that would make me a fullhead again (just kidding, besides I'm ambidextrous so LOL who cares). Joking aside, it's a f*****g daily nightmare, an aesthetical, psychological and social torture that never ends.

I thought it didn't matter to you anyway? You were fucked regardless of hair loss.

Seriously? That's a question trolls and new (good-looking fullhead) users normally ask. What a surprise.

It's not about being attractive, it's about losing a part of my own identity, looking 20 years older and sick at age 25 and being made fun of as a result, feeling uncomfortable with your own peers because you've been stripped of a part of you so young and so quickly. I don't care about women or being attractive, I care about my own peace of mind.

I was pretty sure you've said it's the least of your problems so it doesn't matter anyway. I was mistaken.

I do plan on talking a break from the site at some point when the British summer decides to come around for its 10 days a year.

Haha.. What's more depressing, this forum or the damn English weather?

Are you from the north?

The English weather without a doubt it's more bi polar then my ***.

I'm from the midlands. My city is supposed to be the most depressed city in the country and we once got voted the 5th worse city in the world by lonely planet guide for being a cultural black spot.

I think I could handle this hair loss sh*t better if we had more then 10 days sun.

I hope to move to rural Europe at some point in the future and live a modest life.

But you're being snobbish a bit.
Being educated and having the belief that you are smarter than those with an elementary level education (often a comforting delusion) is no reason to feel entitled to having a better life then them.

These "dumb" people are often educated in ways that wouldn't even occur to you.

Give it some thought.

I can sympathise. Now, I'm not being a smart *** but last summer, down here in Australia, we had way too much f*****g sun and heat.
It was brutal, it really was.
We were all praying for summer to end.

This is where me and dante actually agree. Hair loss isn't just about being attractive to women because it also affects how we see ourselves and how other people treat us in life.

I come here to talk to people going through the same as me. As a young, balding woman I feel incredibly alone in ''the real world'', so talking to like minded people brings me comfort. Also, I love the humor and the memes here, and of course the different personalities and discussions we have. It's almost like having friends to talk to, which is why I come back anyway.
