Will finasteride make this thinning thick again? 19m

You don't even know if he has hairloss. Not knowing anything he's tried or not tried you just recommend a treatment that could potentially limit the size of his genitalia for life? Why do you only take it every other day? Did you have sides? This shouldn't be the first line of treatment for somebody as young as him, extremely reckless and stupid!

He's a basically a teenager. You even say your self "most likely" he's done developing. But your willing to throw him under a bus. he could of tried Ketoconazole Shampoo/cream or CB, micro- needling.... Did you tell him to take low dose eod? Did you tell him to get blood work done? I've seen crazy hairline recoveries. Recovering masculinity (Dick size) isn't as likely! Your advice is sh*t! Are you a Tran by the way? Oh and "AA or die" eah lol

So I think he should monitor the situation a bit more and start finasteride every 2 or 3 days if the need arises. As more people gets the courage to use finasteride we see that that the side effect profile is somewhat overrated. Most common side effects are low-libido and runny sperm, which returs to baseline in 1-2 months if one quits the drug.

You can go for a blood test (testo,DHT, liver enzymes) every three months for a precaution if you start finasteride. Also please notify your general pediatrician or dermatologist if you know one. But do not forget if hairloss cause mood problems and depression for you seek a therapist and start finasteride to prevent more hairloss. That is the reality.

As for Topher we are not patting ourselves on back; we are giving objective experience for him to take with a grain of salt.

Yes micro-needling is effective even on it's own. Castor oil would be good to apply alter needling and after washing your hair aswell (just on scalp) You could get Ketoconazole Shampoo too or cream. Sorry for ranting on you post, the majority of people handle finasteride fine. Good luck brother!

I also agree with Topher - even if you are going to recommend something off such little information, the very least you should recommend are conservative treatments at this stage. While I will acknowledge that most people will respond well to finasteride, I can speak from my own experience as an adverse responder. I went on it because it's what you see people recommending left and right. But the truth is I could have saved myself lots of time and money by taking a more conservative approach to figure out what works for me and what doesn't.

We really don't even know how aggressive or how mild this case is. I can only imagine a derm taking one glance at a person without examining their scalp and making a determination based off that.

works mild at best it blocks dht that's it really. some people get some mild or minor regrowth on it.

why should you use finasteride when you can get sides? Bi-estro cream has no systemic absorption and 1 pump is 1 mg of Estriol USP and 0.25 mg of Estradiol USP...that's non-existent. All you need is 1 pump a day. Also so your body needs a certain amount of estrial and estriol

If it's such a concern u can just take bi-estro cream out of the equation and stick with the other stuff I went on. Plus, I keep my hair gains once I'm done with the regime...unlike the other stuff everyone else takes.

I'm wondering how much stronger bi-estro is compared to estriol. From what I've read, a lot of people are side-effect free from estriol. Since bi-estro contains estradiol, it seems more effective, but there is a greater likelihood of side effects. I tried asking this on another thread but did not receive a detailed answer.

Bi-esto has estriol and estrial together btw. I've not experienced not one single side effect nor has the other 2 guys I know as well. You can't get side effects from putting it on the scalp the systemic absorption rate is non-existent and u only need 1 pump a day and since one pump is 1 mg of Estriol USP and 0.25 mg of Estradiol USP. That's still incredibly low.


Those who you say are getting sides must be taking the pills no doubt about it

I guess the best way to figure this out would be to compare the molecular masses of it to other topicals. If it's fairly large, not much goes systemic, i.e. topical dutasteride.

Generally the lower the number.

Since estriol and estradiol have pretty low molecular weights, they likely have a decent amount of systemic absorption. However, the side effects may not be very present from it because you're using around 1mg or so per application. Whereas people who are using 100mg+ of RU or minoxidil or etc sometimes twice a day may get side effects because the dosage is phenomenally higher.

This is very interesting...i really find this eye opening. despite estriol being relatively low i and others have not experienced a single thing. well to be fair I'm only using 1 pump which is very little dosage to begin with.
