Would A Hair Transplant Be A Good Idea For Me?

Get on finasteride or dutasteride and wait for a year or two.
Check if you have any results and THEN think of any transplant. The money you spend on it will be considerable so be cautious.
Although to me it seems like a losing battle id suggest to go the medication route and wait for any future treatments.
Also forget the crown, do all you can to frame your face. Im pretty sure you are not hoping for a Brad-pitt type head of hair.

@fred i get you man, i feel so frustrated when i see people complaining about hairloss at 25-30. YOU LIVED A QUARTER OF YOUR LIFE without having an Everyday-bad-hair-day like some of us.

No offense OP just releasing my anger.

I started to lose my hair at 19 and it was pretty aggressive from the get go. It was devastating.

Many years later, I was leafing through my HS yearbook and saw a guy in my class who was easily NW3-4 when we graduated. Poor guy!

Please don't do it man. I was super depressed about my hair loss that I even took pics everyday for years just to look at it. I just underwent a strip procedure and had fue done too and let me tell you it won't look like your original hair if buzzed down. The problem is that you can never cut your hair short again and if you lose all your hair up top you can't achieve close to original density but only fine hairs. FUE can let you buzz your hair down to a 2 usually but even at that if you lose all your hair up top you can't fully cover it and then you're stuck leaving your sides at least at a 2 guard. Now I'm trying desperately to get rid of the scars I'm gonna have with using things like ginger and creams to hopefully bring skin tone back to normal. Some people say ginger works but doctors in the transplant business says the scar is there forever which means I'm stuck now with having to grow my hair out that will thin even more as I'm older. Please just buzz it down at least. It doesn't have to be clean shaven but try to live with a buzz cut for awhile and you might realize you actually look great

That's quite aggressive hair loss for someone who is only 27. You can clearly see it will progress to at least NW6.
Make sure you don't lower your hairline too aggressively. An NW3 hairline would be safe but you'll probably want an NW2.
Definitely get on finasteride and minoxidil for a year first, then decide whether your hairline or crown is your priority. If they are equal priorities then perhaps buzzing your hair short and a hair transplant could give a nice result. Even better if you add scalp micropigmentation.
Your response to medication will be very important, and the deciding factor in how you approach a hair transplant.

Thanks for the response! I fear I am headed towards an Norwood 6 or 7 for sure. What if I am comfortable with the buzz look (Brad Pitt esque hair is not a reality for me) - how would I go about combining scalp micropigmentation and hair transplanting? Thanks!

Brad-Pitt type hair - I wish haha. I am just looking to frame my face better and was hoping to find out how best to go about it.
