I am really starting to freak out about my hair transplant. Unbearably unnerving. Questioning eveyrthing.
Yes, I am seeing about 10-20 new fine hairs sprouting, but it seems SO LITTLE, considering I am already 4 days short of 4 months post op. Any comforting words? Am I a slow grower, or is this just how it goes?

As you said you are only 4 months out. Im sure you know by now it can sometimes take a year or more to reach an "ultimate" conclusion of your hair transplant results. Has your hair transplant surgeon followed up with you recently? He should be able to clearly answer your concerns. If you decide later on that his/her work ethic and/or performance is unsatisfactory don't be shy about politely obtaining monetary credit from him/her. It's not too late to get a second opinion either. Trust your instincts. This may just be a "normal case" of the post op. heebie jeebies. All the best.

Yes, he has. Although I live in Norway and he in Thailand, he answers my every question, but his english and writing abilities are limited.

The hair that fell out, caused by the shockloss, is starting to come back.

Can't see to get the camera to focus properly, as there are many smaller hairs it does not pick up. There is much more growth than the picture implies.

Maybe look into scalp micropigmentation ? I just turned 21 and propecia is not helping and Im losing hair very fast. There's no way I'm doing a transplant but I'm considering just shaving my head and getting smp done.

No, thank you. Can't you see I just had a transplant? There seems to be a lot of shameless promotion for this so-called smp-procedure.

I believe you made a big mistake by going to an unknown doctor, should have gone with stronger meds and waited at least 5 years.

Month 4

4 months it has now been. The growth is starting to kick in. Not as much as I had hoped, but I still have a long way to go. Next photo update will be in one month exactly.

I'm glad you are noticing more progress. The waiting game is often the most stressful part of the process. All the best.

- I am 20 years of age.
- I paid between 5000-6000 USD.
- 4 months is when things just start. I did get 2000 grafts/3500 hairs (32 grafts per square centimeter - which may sound sparse, but it should be enough to simulate that of a bit more than a semi-dense hairline).

No need to get all worked up. It seems like your transplant was a serious mistake from what I'm seeing that's why i suggested an alternative.

SMP to me, seems like a last resort. Is it not? Still, a very lame alternative, considering I haven't exhausted even half of my donor supply, this I would not even begin to consider. Thanks for the input, but no thank you. My transplanted hair is growing more now, and I am somewhat pleased with how it looks now, not to say I'm content, but things are starting to look better. If it indeed was a fail ed transplant, I take it the hairs would not grow at all, and especially not this early in. My native hair actually grows straight up (just like the transplanted hairs), not forward/downward. This is mighty strange, I know, but that's my hair. I literally have no need folr hair styling products, since it grows naturally upwards.

Hey bud I know you got a hair transplant and we can't reverse that fast but man if you'd just got on propecia you could of seen a ton of regrowth, I've seen guys in the exact same situation as you get for from to a nw1.
You'll have tto get on propecia to stop any further recession. Bah nvm.

Were you aware of this?

"The explanation is that the genetic reason for Pattern Baldness is linked to your mother's X-Chromosome. Everyone get one-half of their genetic make-up from their mother and their father. The final chromosome pair of the 23 pairs is the sex determining set. While males are XY and females are XX the determination of an individuals sex is made by the father. It is the father who gives either the X chromosome, which matches with the woman’s X resulting in XX and a female child or the Y chromosome which joins with the woman’s X resulting in an XY match and a male child. It is the X chromosome or female sex chromosome that contains the gene for Male Pattern Baldness. Since men have only one X chromosome, the gene for baldness is a single expression gene that shows up because there is no possible dominant gene to suppress what would normally be a recessive or hidden characteristic. Since Male Pattern Baldness gene is only on the X chromosome and men can only get that chromosome from their mothers, it is simple to see how this type of baldness is passed from mother to son."
