I had similar if not more recession when I was 20. finasteride seemed to work really well but gave me lots of side effects-puffy nipples, nut aches, watery semen, body hair loss (I didn't mind this one) and loss of muscle tone. I have maintained baseline levels on Min and nizoral for all these years. Recently I had an 800 graft FUE to fix my temples (600 on the right and 200 on the left). Also I am on topical spironolactone which is helping my hairline but it is really hard to apply if you have anything other than a buzz cut. I'll probably try RU soon cause I don't want to get another transplant until my late 30s.

If you are afraid to try finasteride, there are still plenty of other alternatives.

I'll be on it very soon. Just waiting for my current batch of spironolactone to run out.

I had some spironolactone at one point... is that the cream you ordered form this site? How do you feel it's working for you? do you microneedle before applying?

Yes I purchased it from here. I apply it along my hairline five minutes after I shower my hair. I sometimes partition my left side (currently experiencing thinning here) and apply over there too. It is hard to apply in regions other than your hairline when your hair is even a bit grown out. I believe the stuff is legit and can halt hair loss especially in conjunction with Min and nizoral. The only reason why I am interested in RU is that it is capable of attacking hair loss at a more fundamental level and even revive some of the follicles that have shrunk dramatically in size.

minoxidil would probably grow all of his hair back (both temple hair loss and crown area). Yes, finasteride is more powerful,
but in his case it's probably overkill.

He has vertex balding (slight). Also only slight hair loss around the temple area. Just use five percent
on the temple area and crown.

Why not? Results would show with minoxidil between twelve and sixteen weeks.

There's lots of success stories on the success board with minoxidil. Purvi had more baldness than him, and he regrew
all of it. He has photographs that prove it as well.

In the beginning stages, Minoxidil will probably work. Look at the success stories for visual proof.

And yes, he could definitely grow back his temple hair with minoxidil alone. I did it with two percent when I was twenty (only
option back then).

He's an excellent candidate. If hair has recently fallen out, which is his case, Minoxidil can definitely do the trick.

minoxidil would probably not grow all of his hair back. Most people do not have that strong of a reaction to minoxidil or finasteride.

Update: My head feels extra itchy on my right temple, and it is definitely thinner than the otherside. I resist the urgen to itch as I am scared it might make it worse lol. My crown gets itchy but on two spots where there are 2 moles, is that my moles itching or hairloss around the mole?

If anyone wants to see what my recession looks like at 20 let me know, I want to know how aggressive my hairloss is!

Try using finasteride. If your self conscious about your hair currently you can also use some toppik/caboki to conceal your loss until it grows back.

Good Luck.

Right, I have a doctors appointment on Thursday about something completely irrelevant to hair, but whilst I am there I am looking to ask them about removing moles on my scalp, as I have two or three on my scalp and various other areas. If I were to become bald soon I want them gone!! Whilst I am there, I may ask about seeing a hair specialist to determine what I should do for my hair.

-I will keep updated from what I do and any treatments I start to do.

-I will attach more images of my current state and help me recommend if I need to start now and how bad I am getting.

(Baring in mind I am only 20 years old and always had quite a big forehead.)

Any feedback now from anyone would be good and honest opinions only on how bad it is, no false hope!!

I agree with most others here. Take finasteride as soon as you can. It is very likely going to work (more than 80% chance) and it will probably help keep the hair you already have. I feel your hair loss is minimal so far; try to keep it that way!

Is it possible to purchase finasteride without a prescription? I don't have health insurance right now so scheduling a doctor appointment will be pricey.

Your hair still looks great. Just showing first signs of alopecia. If finasteride works well on you, you can keep it for many years to come. Same I used to have 2 o years ago and I looked another side...i wish i started finasteride back then, instead of now (1 week ago) that my situation got worse...

So I have highlighted some areas of my balding. The front of my hairline seems to be getting thinner and recession is becoming noticeable... hard to cover.

Also my crown normally looks much worse in light and is always so red looking... Every photo or reflection is visible. I want to get Minoxidil and maybe finasteride but dont know if it is worth it... people say it wont help my hairline so will it even fill in my crown or is it a waste of money??

Start with minoxodil and see where it goes from there. It does, or can, work on the hairline - it just isn't always very effective. Or, rather, it works better on the crown.

If your scalp is pink, Nizoral might help. I used to always have a pink scalp which was also quite sore. Nizoral cleared it right up, though it does still flare up from time to time.

I'm in a similar boat to you, though I've got diffuse thinning and a receding hairline. I think it started when I was about 19 or 20, but I didn't notice it for a couple of years, and waited a couple of years more before I started doing something about it. Minoxodil has helped me a little bit. It's not given me a glorious mane, but it has made my remaining hair a bit healthier. Your hair seems to still be pretty thick, so you'll probably have better results than me. Don't put it off, though - I did for ages. I wish I had started sooner. The longer you wait, the worse it'll get - it won't magically get better.

finasteride is apparently pretty good, but I'm avoiding it for various reasons. Definitely an option, though. But yeah, the sooner you start, the more likely it is that you'll have better results

i think you just have a mature hairline. no male pattern baldness. you have thin hair that makes it look worse.
