I've heard one of the local Cowboys shows quite a few times on, I believe, the local ESPN radio affiliate. I love it... there's some older sounding guy with a serious drawl who's a really entertaining pundit. His relaxed accent is disarming, he's got a razor sharp wit. They weren't homers at all.

Our local LA sports shows are pretty fair and honest, EXCEPT for the local Fox Radio Lakers group. They're the biggest homers I've ever heard in my life. Vic the Brick Jacobs would shine Kobe's knob if given the opportunity.

And Cassin, I was ready to move on with the Brady/Romo discussion, but you had to do it...you had to go there. I mean, you're clearly a smart dude and certainly have a very good outlook on sports...please don't tell me you actually believe the "cheating" stuff has actually played a role in Brady's career and success.

With the whole taping hand signals thing, no. I believe it had a very minor to insignificant impact at best on the over all teams success but I just had to poke you with a stick.

Obviously it was benefiting them somehow or they wouldn't have done it.

Or perhaps Belichick is just such a massive OCD control freak he had to have everything he could on every team and I find that to be most likely.

As far as Brady specifically, no. Not at all. Of course not. He's just a stud who was grown right...just like Romo ...who, mind you...hasn't even played 2 full seasons yet. So I implore you to keep an open mind on him. I rarely tout such greatness upon my own teams because I am overly critical of them. But when it comes to Ware, Witten, Barber, TO, Leonard Davis, Newman (who simply doesn't get enough INT's and yet is a disruptive force at CB) and Romo I can't say enough about them.

Back to "spygate" :jackit: That entire thing was simply deep rooted hatred rival between Bill Belichick and Eric Mangini. One day I hope we get to hear just what happened between all of them and Bill Parcell. Those guys want to kill each other...seriously. And yet they are all so much alike...hahaha

Thats not them but I know who your speaking of.

I'm talking about 1310/1700 am (and 104.1 FM, yes they have 3 signals) "The Ticket" in Dallas. Next time you're in town you must give them a listen.

Oh and The Gardener...being a lost NFL soul with no home team...who do you root for? Just good games and appreciate teams?

Gawd that would suck to have no local team....

I root for the Cowboys! I have ever since I was a kid!

They have quite a following here, when I was a kid they always had their summer camp close to my home town. It was good to see them return this year, even if I didn't get a chance to go up there and watch.

Cassin, I’m surprised…even I knew that Gardener was a Cowboys fan. So how do you guys feel about the acquisition of Pacman? Could this be the kiss of death, so to speak? Again, I was watching that “Hard Knocks†show on HBO, and I will say that if he commits himself to playing football and winning, then he will be a GREAT asset to the Cowboys…he’s got a ton of ability. He certainly has confidence, too, as he called out TO during practice and covered him on every play. TO got the best of him…but Pacman played him very well. And he did something that was insanely impressive. He caught 6 fair catches in a row without dropping a ball. What I mean is that he caught one, didn’t put the ball down, then caught a second, didn’t put the ball down, and caught a third while holding 2 footballs…and so forth all the way up to 6. At the end, he was holding 3 footballs in his right arm, 2 in his left, and still caught a fair catch. It was pretty impressive to watch.

EasyEd.... I just looked up Frank Gore on the Rotoworld package I bought before the draft. They like him. They think he's got an MVP season in him, but it probably won't be this year. They specifically focused on the 49ers pick up of Mike Martz as offensive coordinator, and they think this will do great things for Gore's stats, not necessarily in rushing, but in receiving. They point to Marshall Faulk during Martz' tenure with the Rams as an example of how much upside there might be for Gore in a Martz-crafted offense.

That's good to hear, I certainly hope so. He's a beast, no question about it. My only concern is having a RB on a team that isn’t very good, and is often coming from behind. I had Steven Jackson last year who is as good of a RB as there is, but since they were always playing from behind, he basically only got carries in the first half, and in the second half, the team that is ahead is usually burning out the clock by running themselves, so Jackson would be on the bench for the most part, and when he came in, they’d be throwing. Hopefully that won’t be as much the case with Gore as Martz likes to throw to RBs, so this should make him very valuable. That is why a guy like Marion Barber is a great fantasy RB. They’ll be ahead a lot, they’ll run the ball in the second half a lot, and thus increase Barber’s productivity. I’m very optimistic about Gore, but do have my concerns. You have Adrian “All Day†Peterson, so you shouldn’t have too much to worry about.

How worried are you about McNabb going down?

I respect the Cowboys very much, but if they play the Pats, I hope that the Pats are ahead late in the 4th by twenty something and Brady’s still out there in the shotgun going for it on 4th down to score a “F*CK YOUâ€￾ touchdown. Same goes for the Eagles...actually, especially the Eagles.

Its a non issue if it goes south.

We have a pro bowler in Newman
A very solid Henry
First round pick this season

And possibly the best CB in the league in Pacman who is on his last chance and makes nothing so if he sneezes wrong he is gone forever. He can't be that dumb. Oh and by the way. He is guarded by 3 people 24 hours a day. No BS. Its true.

My top 3 order!

Cowboys
Yankee's (puke)
Manchester United

Cassin,

I believe the Boston Celtics used to belong on that short list, but the 90s and early to mid 00s really crippled the organization. Bird/McHale/Parish got old, Len Bias died, Reggie Lewis died, Pitino came in and destroyed everything, Auerbach lost control of the franchise (and he got old)...and so on and so forth...and before you know it, the Celts have the worst record in the league in 06-07. They’re obviously back on the winning track now, but they used to be a truly great organization, and I think that’s gone.

Here's where your argument dies....that's a global list and nobody outside the US has a clue who that team is.

Alright, Chad Johnson just legally changed his last name to Ocho Cinco. Seriously, go to espn.com.

Has there ever been anyone in sports that craves attention more than this guy?
