See this is the hypocracy of people here. When I complain about my baldness and situation, I hear about how it could be worse and people bring up people who are severely burned, dying of disease and so forth.

I bring up how it could be worse and only bring up my more severe hairloss and it's "ridiculous". My point was to show him it could be worse. And I did it by using hairloss as an example not the worst possible thing.

Sorry, but saying that you'd give your left leg to be BALDING really is fecking ridiculous. I'm 100% certain that, if given the chance, you wouldn't do that. Then you'd be balding and probably bald in a few years and with only 1 leg. Nice trade! By the way, how is your hairloss any more severe than an average hair loss sufferers' hairloss? Don't you have any hair at all even on the sides? I just want to know what makes YOUR hairloss so damn severe compared to other hairloss sufferers.

Yes there is a HUGE difference between bald and balding. People with full heads of hair make that mistake often. They say "hey will whatever many million of men in the world are bald". That is not true. Balding, yes it's true. BALD, not true. If you lower that number to people who are bald and over 60, it's even less.

When I was balding (bald spot) I went out without a hat and worked a job that way. Because I had enough hair that I didn't look stupid. It's different when you have 3 total hairs on top. If I had stayed around that level, not only would I have gotten over it, I wouldn't even be posting here. I mean was I before a month or so ago?

I don't say people who lose hair aren't hurting. I know they are. But they are NOT in the same boat as someone who just is bald. There are no more bad hair days. Every day is a bad hair day or no hair day. There are no meds or topicals to take. There is no way to comb it to hide it.

I am using minoxidil, Prox-N, spironolactone, AA, CPs, PTO shampoo , nizoral 2 percent, Essential oils (peppermint, emu, etc)....I think the ingredients you mentioned are added to Prox-N already.

This sounds like total OVERKILL to me. Just let your hair breathe man! Just get some fresh air, have a more positive attitude, stress less and clean up your diet and I bet you will grow more hair than being on all that garbage :shakehead:

Yeah, a good diet is essential if one has any kinda skin problems. My scalp itching has almost completely gone away since I've been on a healthy, low-GI diet. The most important bits are no sugar, no wheat and no yeast. So no pasta, macarone, potatoes, rice or anything like that, all they do is raise your blood sugar levels -> skin problems if you're prone to it.

On the original post though, Yes Hairloss does matter in society, theres no denying that, How much it actually matters would be the area of debate. How much it matters when it doesn't matter to that specific person for instance, It's all on how it effects you.

With women, although this has been said already whenever this has been brought up, Yes some women will write a guy off simply based on his balding head or bald one, But hardly every woman, and it isn't just the ones some would call unattractive either. One thing that is guaranteed to ward women off though is lack of confidence, so when your really really bothered by your hairloss, and you attribute every failed attempt with the opposite sex to your hair, well you may be right, but not simply because of the cosmetic reasons, mainly for the way it effects your overall attitude when it does bother you too much.

There are plenty of bald guys out there, who get amazing looking women...And they are not all movie stars or in a band.

SOME guys to look great in a shaved head. This does not mean everyone does

Some guys look great with long hair, not everyone does.

Some women look great with short hair, others look like biker lesbians.

Some men and women look great with glasses, others do not.

What I find ironic when I hear regular people telling bald guys to "get over it" about baldness is that they still try to hide pimples, spend tons of money to hide imperfections, get plastic surgery, get their teeth replaced, Dye their white hair and all these other cosmetic things because they haven't just "gotten over it". I mean shouldn't they "get over it" when their hair is grey too?

HAIR MATTERS in society. No matter how much you try to justify being bald or shaved, there is no denying that people with hair are always more desirable and generally considered more attractive. The overwhelming majority of chiks WANT men with good hair.

Some (shallow) women prefer only guys w/ hair - this is undeniably true, especially very young ones in their late teens/ early twenties. But, I no longer think it's the majority. I think head-shaver guys have become socially acceptable in the mainstream. Nowdays, a lot of women go for head-shavers - especially head-shaver guys that are buffed in the gym. Thoses guys are always hooking up w/ total hotty chicks in the gym. I'm serious - i'm not joking!!

Dude, I appreciate you trying to pump our spirits with this link, but unfortunately most of the women who vote on that website have no clue what it feels like to lose hair. I am not venting at you bro, but rather at some of the voters on that website. Take this response as an example:

Reading some of the regimen chat earlier on in this thread seriously made my head spin. How do you guys do it? You almost have to be a f-ing scientist yourself to figure that sh*t out. I might as well venture off into the Brazilian rainforest to solicit the help of a witch doctor. Ground appleseeds, root extract, this, that- sounds like medieval alchemist sh*t to me. Remaining on the cynical side, hair transplants are pretty medieval too. If you have the luxury of just barely loosing your hair then fine, this sh*t will probably work for you, but if you are NW5 and up then science or whatever the f*** is just not there yet and probably won't be for a while. Oh look, I'm fuckin 55 years old and they finally came out with HM, now that my face is all wrinkled and droopy I can have a full head of hair, awsome. :badmood:
