Lol. It was the first thing I ever tried back in 2014. Biotin is great.... for hair that isn’t genetically predisposed to Androgenetic Alopecia. Otherwise it does nothing except maybe make your hair grow a little faster. It has no impact upon the biological processes that trigger miniturisation, I can promise you that.
Are you still on it? Well she seemed to regrow a lot of hair that was in a receding pattern. I'm gonna give it a go anyway, I'm desperate and have no idea what else I can realistically try.

I saw a study where duta works better than finasteride in the front. With duta a good responder can have a regrowth in the hairline, this is not the same for finasteride.

Probably also depends on what your receptors are like in any given area

In the spanish forum there is a girl who said her derm prescribed her dutas because it works in the front scalp where finasteride not..

Just for curiosity, did you check your thyroid ?
That’s interesting. I hope it worked for her.

I have. My thyroid is fine.

Georgie, how's your hair at the back of the head? I would really like to see that. Full body shot if possible ;);)

Georgie, you haven't noticed any mental side effects on dutasteride ? 5-alpha reductase inhibitors like finasteride and dutasteride also stop certain neuro-steroids.
No I honestly haven’t noticed as “side effects” as such. I remember when I first started using it, my skin did get dryer and some of the female issues I had from taking the pill stopped, which my gyn later told me was definitely something duta would have done. Other than that I can’t say I noticed neural issues because quite frankly I’m a depressed b**ch with or without it. Brain fog goes hand in hand with depression so that’s not a new thing either.

Yeah, I think Biotin and expensive shampoos are where most people start, lol.

You don't find out about antiandrogens until you do more research.

Did you experience a duta shed? Doesn't look like it based on your progress in only 7 months. Like you, I didn't get results from finasteride or seti so you're definitely making me reconsider duta. Ironically, I just recently saw the back of my head and was devastated at how much thinner it got. Might be beyond saving at this point FML

I shed badly every single day so it’s hard to really know. I take oral minoxidil and it’s put me into this constant state of Telogen Effluvium.

No nice way of writing this, but is this a possible case of BDD and/or attention seeking? Catfish/fake account?

lmao no. She's already addressed that a bunch of times.

Okay, it’s just the pictures in this thread have the air of a Tinder/Instagram heart collector, and yet I’ve seen her write words to the effect “I know I’ll always be single”. She’s an 8/10 with no noticeable hair loss, apparently taking dutasteride despite there being no evidence this benefits women.

I hope you can understand my scepticism.

If androgenic alopecia is caused by DHT for most people then it theoretically should work for women too?
