Conundrum...do you mean my other post today about being trying to be happy as opposed to depressed, as the hair situation remains the same in either outlook?

i know what you mean, sounds so simple in theory, but it's difficult to not get pissed off a lot of the time :( i know that i feel better on good hair days, and go about my daily life happily enough, but on a bad day or shedding phase i can mope around a bit and get frustrated

richlocks,

I have the same opiniom about Derms. Many of then know sh*t about hair loss, duta, hm. We learn much more coming to sites like this and sharing experiences than losing our time in front of some idiots, waiting for their mechanic prescriptions.

Should we really trust some Internet prescription drug provider for something of this nature? I wouldn't. This has a sketch factor of 10 written all over it.

The fact that they use an excite email address makes me think they are just spammers getting addresses.

You know I am really interested to know how much scalp dht is inhibited by Avodart. I know Propecia is around 37% which if you think about it is pretty impressive by itself. I would fully expect duta lower scalp dht by nearly twice as much.

A lot of people are theorizing lately about the missing link in frontal hair loss but gotta say it doesn't seem likely that there is one. The front is the first area to be affected by dht and it seems to take fewer hair minaturization cycles to eridicated the follicle up front. This of course means you have small window to catch get back what you've lost up from.

Ralphy,

If we consider that people expect to thicken minituarized hairs on the temples, not regrow hairs on a shine bald temple, what does "small window" mean?
In other words, if it´s possible to see hairs on the temples, don´t matter the size, don´t you think that there´s a great chance to turn then into decent hairs with Duta + minoxidil.?

Thanks, sorry for the english.

I would have thought so. All of the drugs work on reversing hair miniaturisation. For me I can still see many little white hairs. Ones that I suspect used to be much thicker and darker.I guess the results will be different. I saw an article on the http://www.hairsite.com site where dutasteride grew an astonishing amount of hair back as well as loosing hair of his back (Double Bubble) There where even pictures although they are not very clear. They could have been any one but hopefully not. Even then he saw better re growth on the crown than he did at the front.

One thing that confuses me is the graphs that show the results of dutasteride they compare different levels of dutasteride to 5mg of finasteride why aren’t we all taking 5mg of finasteride?? it looks like it grows more hair?? If dutasteride comes out in a .5mg dosage what dosage are they planning to use for hair loss. The websites already say that 2.5mg has the best performance for hair loss and it looks like the side effects remain the same.

Also the graph shows that after six month of treatment, the hair counts measured in a 1 inch diameter circle increased by about ~96 hairs with 0.5mg Dutasteride, compared to about ~72 hairs with 5mg Finasteride. The hair counts increased significantly with an increase in dosage with the biggest gain being ~108 hairs with a dose of 2.5mg Dutasteride.

I don’t call 12 hairs more a significant difference for 5 times the dosage. Do they mean that more people grew more hair but the best they saw was ~108? Anyone got any ideas?

Are you sure it'sAGA(male pattern baldness)? There is the possibility it's Telogen effluvium or Areata induced. How long have you used Rogaine?

Hi,

Can anyone tell me when Avodart will be approved for use in BPH in Australia? Will it be in December like in the US?

Thanks
