the fact is that MTF do not take Avodart and Finasteride at all. they accept AA and E. So there is no point in avodart. I am not mtf, I just grow hair
Um.... Yes we do take Avodart and Finasteride many of us, and the consensus is that MtF hair is not fully protected without dutasteride. I currently use dutasteride and I used to use both it and finasteride for several years but desisted because it appeared to be overkill. My conjecture was that reductase inhibitors should be unnecessary without testosterone but the reality is that DHT is incredibly persistent even in some castrates and post-surgical MtF's.

Your knowledge of all of this without having actually passed through all of this yet chemically is startling.
Thanks, I guess? Haha

I want my hair back, and I will do what I will have to do. Not going to bother with the snake oils... lol

Hair loss is indeed a hormonal x genetic result.

perhaps IGF1 is somehow related to DHT.

Perhaps but there are limits to my knowledge in terms of putting together some grand theory of baldness via conjecture as opposed to what works. I mean according to the murcine testing DHT should be giving all humans huge beards and huge amounts of head and body hair and it does not so for some reason, we are all largely "naked" apes and males and females parallel each other in total hair volume if you will. It's just located in different places for males, and male body hair lamentably perhaps to many, is just out of style. Well, except for FtM's, Goddess bless them.

Janey Elizabeth wanted to thank you. I recently asked where to buy tablets online and you gave me a lot of good online stores.

Well, thank you. I woke up one day during the quarantine and realized that I had had virtually every baldness experience, male and female and since the science interests me so, I hope that I am able to help some folks diminish the pain of hair loss. I will never forget the night before my 20th birthday and someone telling me that "I was looking a little thin on top" and yes, part of my experience is the father in his 80's with perfect hair so I never saw it coming. I felt sick and I knew that my life would never be the same. I got lucky with polysorbates and then just had a so-so transplant but great maintenance with finasteride/duta/min and then it just stopped working. That sick feeling while I looked in the hand mirror that last night of my being 19 years old will never quite go away....

Once I realized that my HRT scheme seemed to be working, it gave me the confidence to post pics periodically so people could see what regrowth/restoration looked like because it is too painful for most folks to post and I realized like @bridgeburn, that at a certain point, assertions without progressive photographic evidence is largely useless....

Something to add; I might drop Bicalutamide for a year after a long time to reset my liver, but will continue with a topial androgen receptor degrader, when they come out.

I also started to lose my hair very early. I have been taking HRT for 2 years. I can't imagine what we would do without E.

Now everything is ok. the last half of the year I have not taken anything. after half a year, the hair became a little worse. now I'm back in HRT mode. but without avodart. I hope all be fine.

Well, stick with this thread and I encourage folks to read about the first 150 to 200 pages while @bridgeburn was still participating because he treats all aspects of the experience and what he writes about HRT is about 99 percent dead on and the rest is because new studies have come out since.

I try to focus a bit more on XX hair loss on my thread and what I might call baldness memorabilia just for fun like posting several guys who do in fact have great beards and great hair or linking to the youtube video of "Almost Cut My Hair" but my bi-weekly or so posting of pics is what I hope can be something permanent as a resource. My feminization effects or "results" as MtF's call them have been gratifying and many people feel that I have been successful at that aspect as well so I try to help all MtF femmes as much as possible both for hair goals and also transition/passing goals.

My Goddess Bless salutation is because I do believe that envisioning a deity who is female helps us see the universe as being with us as XY's and not being "out to get us" by a deity with a long beard and bad back comb-over and I think that it helps psychologically and it's a fun schtick....

It's not that you won't be fine without duta/finasteride. It's more so like belt and suspenders because it is hard to lose back any gains that we make. Theoretically and scientifically, RI's probably are overkill but we the balding tend to be obsessed with closing all ports to DHT....

then it makes sense to take cyproterone spironolactone and avadart. especially since cyproterone and spironolactoate suppress different hormones

taking dutasteride with cyproterone acetate is not a recommended combo.

Bicalutamide in doses of 50-75 mg with a 5 are blocker should block all receptors in the skin of the face and scalp. Why it doesn't help everyone is one of the biggest mysteries in my life. How the f*** is this possible?
I will try doses of 50, 75 and 100mg before jumping on E. But if Bicalutamide does not stop the progression, this will mean that I will have to use E all my life, that is, in fact, strongly feminize myself. I’ll do it for the hair, but I don’t want to make such compromises ...
try super low doses of E and taper up slowly if you need to. I have been on 1mg Estradiol and .75mg estrogel for 2 months with no feminization and vellus hairs starting to grow. I am in a similar position where I dont want to feminize
