yea ur diffuse mr ghg. im doin the same. i go diffuse but im buzzing it on a 1

is that a 1 guard in the pic?

It's actually a lot longer (about 1-2 weeks growth or something) which makes it even more sadder. There's just no coverage at all. Monty and Exodus, thanks for the voices of reason on this subject.

:s I meant diffusing & receding.
Exodus your hair doesnt look bad. But yes Im working on getting the balls to buzz my hair, the idea seems scary though. Im not on meds/concealers etc...Im just going with the flow.

I agree with this thread generally. I don't even notice it when most people have receding hair lines. They look like they have full, thick heads of hair to me.

As do 'minor' diffusers. It is impossible for me to achieve a normal look without transplantation at this stage of recession. Meds will never do more than maintain, concealers do almost nothing for a receding hairline, blah blah blah.

It looks quite thick. Just sayin'.

If that's thick to you... well, good luck! See an optician, and fast.

My dude....what you have written in your "signature" pretty much describes *YOU* yourself to a T! :woot: This is crazy....

Yes, you look to be mildly thin on top, perhaps. Guess what, it's pretty much not recognizable unless you point it out.

The profile pic you have on a BALD MAN's forum, looks like a model shot.....of a NW1.

Normally I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this isn't even bad news!

You have naturally very fine hair on top, you've tilted your head all the way down, and you took a shot that looks like it was some weird combo of flash and blur....which of *course* will obscure the hairs you have on top, and make the contrast to your VERY thick sides/hairline/everywhereelse be more apparent.

I don't get my kicks pointing out what nice hair guys have, but all your pics show is that you have a pretty nice head of hair, a very good hairline, and that you look good buzzed up. Already, that makes you more fortunate than like 98% of the white population :bravo:

No offense, but I gotta call it out...not that I know what the "code' is around here....but the ppl propping up this idea you have about being some "balded guy" are just enabling you, not really being critical, or doing so to further enable their own fantasies about how aggrieved they are over their baldness.

Right, the type of pseudo-recession these ppl are referring too is basically just a step beyond a "mature hairline".

If you matchup diffusion vs recession on the Norwood scale, "pound for pound", recession almost always will leave you more glaringly bald, AND as you wisely pointed out, unable to recover.

A lot of ppl who are diffuse and really want to do something about -- and many do -- use a bit of concealer to extremely good effect, or for very minor diffusers, can buzz down and look like a virtual NW1/not-bald-guy.

I agree if you buzz it down close, a bit of diffuse thinning is undetectable to the average person.

Look at Lewis Hamilton, badly diffusing at the front a couple of years ago, now he buzzes it down, uses concealer and I'm guessing meds also and his loss is undetectable to most people, i.e. if you revealed this to any non-sufferer they'd be like "oh wow, I had no idea he was losing his hair, I you sure, it doesn't like it" etc...

People on this forum forget how clueless the general population are about hairloss. They can only visually detect a huge bald spot on the crown or a NW3+ hairline, anything less and they really have no idea.

What about on a fully sly head? Most actually believe one would choose to walk around looking like an easter egg.

i actually know a few people who are bbc (not buzzed, slick shaved) and despite having hair choose to maintain that look all the time, even for years, why would anyone want to do that is beyond my comprehension.

To obtain some warped sense of attention, not realising the attention given by society is largely negative.

Some people genuinely don't care about hair. If they can be happy completely shaving it off then that's not weird. I hate hair and would be happiest with a good hairline and a 5 o'clock shadow on my head. The facial frame would still be there, but I have no hair to worry about.

Although if my hair was actually decent, I'd be happy with a bit of growth. My ideal hair situation and head shape would be Aaron Paul's:

He has a fairly high hairline but looks great with it. His hair is actually nice when grown too. It wouldn't be the best head of hair for an 18 year old like myself but there's something really cool about it.

My "full head of hair" once again. Not diffused on the top much, lol. The left side of my head (on the pic) is much better than my right, but it's still very diffuse too. There's individual hairs with noticeable space inbetween them, not strands.

You have thin hair. :dunno:

But nobody in the 'real world' looks at you as a bald man or even close to it. Especially since everybodies scalp is visible at such a short length.

I don't know what my naturally thin hair has got to with the fact that I've lost at least half the density on top? And I don't care if ppl are so stupid that they don't realize I'm half bald when I have buzzed my hair down. I don't want to be forced to buzz my hair down to gain the look of a somewhat not-bald head. Besides the hair-loss is continuing (fact you don't seem to want to understand) and I'm losing ground all the time.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but with youre pale features, and head shape, going sly is NOT a viable option.

Naw, grow a little facial hair. Even a shadow would help alot. Unless you have a super chisled face, bald head+baby face= awkward.
