Hairloss at a young age is a prison

It will loose slowly but for sure. You will most likely loose a lot of ground in the next 4 years. Maybe even 3. Your hair loss sounds really aggressive, what you said about your fanily history.

If I would be you, I would think about topical AAs (if yoi still think Miniaturization/hair loss is going on).
Why you scare me like this? I mean if it stayed this way for 4 years already why would I start losing ground suddenly? I know it happens I’m just wondering. Problem is I don’t think I can tolerate duta

Its not just about DHT. You are just genetically programmed to loose your hair, and androgens transcribe this information through the AR.

5ARi's won't do much. It just slows the progression down by reducing the strongest androgen in your body.

I personally would call this like a cup of water with a hole beneath it,... leaking water....

Thats why some got a bigger hole, and some a smaller. Some stop the progression of male pattern baldness for a decade, some for a year.

Or you could simply understand it like... a train, trying to reach its destination, but you just slow the train down from 100km/h to 50km/h... nevertheless, it reaches it's destination lol.

I personally would feel insecure sitting only on finasteride, and yeah,... I am.

I will try to stop the train, or to fill the hole in my cup. So I can finally sleep "well".

What can you do if you are sensitive to finasteride? And get extreme side effects like insomnia.
I would try CB-03-01 or Fluridil if you really DONT want to get side effects, but these aren't really potent to stop it totally. CB-03-01 even lost it's efficacy after 6 minths in the clinical trials, terribly...

Dont some people have success maintaining long term on finasteride/dutasteride? Idk I mean I thought there is a chance you can maintain long term even with aggressive genes if you are a responder. Regardless, your comments have scared me and I’m now obsessing about hairloss again lol. Honestly haven’t thought about it much the past several years because I figured i was in the clear for now.

Well. If finasteride would stop hair loss, then ut would be a cure to start it as soon as you are 18 lol, but that's just not how it works.

The science is there, I tried to explain you it, you will lose a lot of ground, nevertheless you are on finasteride. But good that you are, you will be able to maintain it. People who maintain with finasteride for a decade or more just are lucky ones and have not so aggressive genes/AR's.

Sorry!

Here’s a pic from Jan 2018 ( 3 years ago). Do you think my hair has gotten worse since then?

it’s hard to tell with diffuse because depending on the light it can look pretty good or horrible

Not much. Maybe not at all? You could be safe.

Norwood scale means nothing to me. As soon as I see some noticeable thinning, it’s all going. Thinning makes me look sick.

Hairloss sucks at any age. I'm 22. It wouldn't make any difference if it had started at 18. I did nothing with ay hair in the last 4 years. I didn't live like I was suposed to live. I wasted my hair

Only a bit.
That’s reassuring lol. Well I’m f*cked if I go bald but I’d rather not undergo any extreme treatments. I just wish I was an average looking good Guy then I could stop obsessing about it. Instead I have beta face and need hair to look normal... I actually don’t think I could go in public or even get hired for a job if I’m full bald. It’s terrifying.

Diffuse thinning is the worst. Luckily I can make my hair work with this density but if I lose more density it will be really bad. Also if I had more dense hair I could get a better hair style to provide a halo effect.

Just found another pic from sept 2018. This wasn’t even the point of the thread but now I’m thinking about this. I honestly feel like my hair hasn’t changed?? Idk I’m going crazy now trying to analyze things.

2nd pic is from today ( in good lighting)

It looks the same, if not slightly better nowadays.

It’s all about the lighting tbh that’s why I find it hard to compare pics with diffuse thinning. My hair can look terrible or almost full head depending on that.
Yeah that's how it is with diffuse. Either way, you don't seem to have lost ground.

Well now you see why I need to keep taking this finasteride stuff. My family history has NW6 in early 20s on most men. My hair has looked like the photo I posted since I was 18, but I’m pretty sure if I stop taking finasteride I will lose ground. Not willing to risk it tbh. Just have to hope it doesn’t lose effectiveness over time.
your hair started thinning all over equally? i'm very surprised it didnt start at the crown. there was one guy here years ago who started finasteride as soon as he started seeing thinning in a dime sized area on his crown, and he kept his hair for like 10 years. his brother or some close family member was slick bald in his 20s so he knew it was likely for him as well. you caught yours very early so you jsut need to focus on your mental health thats suffering despite having a pseudo full head (lets face it no normie wud see you as balding)

"The proportions of patients with improvement (score ≥ 5) and prevention of disease progression (score ≥ 4) were 91.5% and 99.1%, respectively."

99.1 percent of balding japanese men had no progression after 10 years. i guess you could say since theyre japanese their hair loss probably isn't as bad as a white guys but still. its something. probably some other studies out there but i'm too lazy to look for them

Say that to the others starting to loose again hair after 2-4 years of finasteride.

Very delusional to think that ONLY Dihydrotestosterone causes miniaturization, oh well.

I first noticed my hairloss on crown back in early 2016 although I think I was diffuse thinning throughout entire scalp at that time also. Now I just take pics of the hairline because it’s easier to see improvement or getting worse unlike the crown is hard to get a good pic for.
