Is Anyone Using spironolactone + Duta For Awhile Without Sides?

@Georgie Thanks for your input! :) Yeah spironolactone is def a hit or miss drug but dry skin would be nice for me, I get oily skin and acne on my back when I shed more than usual, I also got SD out of nowhere 3 months into fina and minoxidil, so maybe it will help with that???

Do you have miniaturization? Less DHT with more Estrogen should be helping :( but maybe even with the medication you've got an hormonal imbalance that put's you in a chronic Telogen Effluvium state??
You could wait until month 6 to see what happens... If it stays the same maybe up duta dose and try a stronger estrogen? (idk if there is anything stronger) but i know Duta is not like Fina, if you up your dose it should give better results...

Is your hair getting visible worse or are you more or less maintaining what you have?

@itchymadscalp "I really don't know, but desperate situations make us do desperate things (like when I started Cyproterone 50mg, Estradiol 4mg, Estrogel, ...)."

You didn't have any results with that combination?? :O :O wow!! That regimen is full on nuclear! No sides with those meds at all??? How long were you on them?
I'm thinking of adding estrogel to my hairline but I doubt my doctor will give me that prescription, I'll try though !

@BaldingGuy : Yeah no result with all of that. And I was still on dutasteride 2 pills EOD ... I had some sides, like loss of libido, but it was ok. I was on them for 6 months, I stopped 4 days ago.
You can buy it on thailand pharmacy net

f*** man we do sound alike. I’m literally on as much crap as I can be hormonal at the moment. Technically i cannot go any more nuclear than Diane35, avodart and darolutamide.
Those are the strongest drugs I could be taking to promote and inhibit hormones. I’m in the same boat - willing to try anything. I may give the sulfa a go, simply because I’m on the verge of killing myself anyway. Gotta die of something, at least if this sh*t kills me, I’ll have died trying.

Wow! I'm shocked too bad it didn't work if it did and the side was just less libido it would be awesome!!

Yeah that's the site I bought spironolactone from... But when it got to my country they seized my package so sadly it didn't arrive ...

Yep really bad miniturisation especially around the whole circumference of my head. Like retrograde alopecia with diffuse loss in everywhere else include body and facial hair. It’s caused by having NO estrogen. But being on the pill hasn’t helped.

I figured as your hormones seem to be in order but youre extremely sensitive to T maybe Bica might help. Itchy said its not recommended long term but there are trans women who have been on it for a while, something to look into maybe.
No use being on bical if I’m using darolutamide.

And now because I droppad CPA + Estradiol my libido is stronger than ever ... I've never been so ... GAY XD ... sorry it was fun to mention here.
But yeah ... I had almost no problem issues because my androgen receptors are really too sensitive :/

Androgen receptor sensitivity might also explain why some women get hit by androgenetic alopecia. They already have a very low level of testosterone and dht in their body and yet they get hair loss. Receptor sensitivity might explain why. @EvilLocks have you looked into it?
I have. I'm clearly not high androgen as I am feminine in every way (except hair loss), something my blood tests also confirm. I am not low on any vitamin except D (which I take) and I have thyroids disease (which I treat)
So to me it is pretty clear that I am sensitive to even small amounts of androgens, which is why I am losing my hair. I tried treating it with spironolactone at first, and when I had no results after some time I added Finasteride. Needless to say none of them helped and that is when I realized I was destined to become bald, sadly.

Did you ever go the estrogenic route? Or perhaps a topical like RU?

@EvilLocks : Oh I have also thyroid problems (grave), same with Vit D, but take supplement too. And my normal testosterone level is low medium and I don't look really manly (no beard, still a teenager face ...) .. and I still have hair loss, like you.
Maybe there is something to think about ... thyroid ? Vit D ? low Androgen receptors sensivity on the face and high in the top of the head ... maybe there is a link ? I just want to believe there is a link, and therefore a simple solution. Sorry if I said non sense again.

I did try a high estrogen pill called Diane for like a year, at the same time that I used spironolactone. Never tried RU but I used minoxidil for like a good two years.

I definitely think my thyroids disease is aggravating my hair loss. What is weird is that although I treat it orally with levothyroxine (hope I spelled that right) it does not solve any of my problems. I have thought about seeing a specialist that can take some more specific blood tests to find out what the problem really is but I have been to so many doctors and specialists over my hair loss and other things over the last few years that I'm sick just at the thought of another doctor office. But I know it would be wise to do it :)

I also took spironolactone for almost a year with oral
And topical minoxidil. Didn’t do sh*t. I’m
Still on everything but the spironolactone.

My mother and sister have hashimotos and have treated it for years. Replacing the hormones never helped their hair either. Both my mum and sister have thin hair and brows, but no miniturisation. It’s just fine and thin, but it has been that way from diagnosis and they’ve lost no further hair.

How is your hair status? Are you losing diffusely or pattern? I thought I was diffuse at first, but as my hair loss progressed I see that there's somewhat of a pattern lol. My hairline is intact, the top of my head is thinning in a typical christmas tree pattern, the sides are thinning too almost all the way down but the back and nape is thick. Very odd pattern.

@itchymadscalp I relate to your username. My scalp is itchy as well. Our situations seem similar!

Isn't scalp itch caused by excess of scalp dht? My knowledge is limited in the area so I may be wrong. The androgencity that I experienced was a result of androgen receptors becoming extremely sensitive. But what I don't understand is why my hair became oily. Is there some sort of relationship between receptor sensitivity and excess sebum production? Or perhaps the mechanism that makes the receptors sensitive somehow also increases sebum production.

I wish i could get rid of this itch man! Had some days of no itching and it felt heavenly... I almost didn't remember the feeling (or lack of feelings) of a normal scalp
