I finally decided to take the step and pop my first pill of finasteride... and it felt like the weight of the world was lifting from my shoulders.

I agree with many people here... why stick it out and wait for a potential next treatment to come out if there is something you could be doing RIGHT NOW (literally) to maintain your hair lol

Because that something can potentially be very dangerous and there is an in increasing amount of evidence that it actually is. Also for the people that do not experience the classic side effects right away.

When I finally came off finasteride my hair didn't change one bit and my dick only took 3 years to start working normally again

WE WOULDN'T BE HERE ON THIS FARKING THREAD IF WE COULD TOLERATE finasteride SIDES & IT WAS EFFECTIVE IN KEEPING OUR HAIR.

I'm not going to roll the dice on becoming a woman with depression. I'd rather lose every hair on my head.

I would rather lose all my hair instead of f*****g up my hormons which effect hundreds of body functions and harm my dick. Everyone who really suffered from health problems will agree on me that nothing is more important than health.

Exactly, I used to be the biggest slob with me health. I was extremely sloppy with contacts which, ate like shut, did drugs, dit not care about finasteride side effect before I actually started taking it, only thing I cared about was whether it would work.

All it takes is getting serious health issues to value health and respect your body.

Looking back I’d rather have my hair and combat the sides with other drugs, instead of stopping finasteride. NW6 makes me too depressed to f*** anyways

One year ago I didn't even have sex with a girl who was an absolute 9 even though I could, because of what finasteride did to my dick

Wow, I was expecting people on here to be more surportive of my decision to start using finasteride. Guess not...

Will report back if I get results though. I understand that it's a risk, but they are proven to be minimal and transient. So if worse comes to worse I'll just stop taking it. I have a NW2... and I would be content just keeping it, so I decided to take this route. The only available and legal means to have a fighting chance of at least keeping what I currently have.

It’s absolutely worth giving it a shot. There’s nothing worse than having hair loss and not being able to stabilize it. You have to remember that online is a really skewed sample for drug responders; if people got better results they probably wouldn’t be here. Only thing I’d counter with is that the side effects definitely aren’t minimal. Full blown ED in my case, it’s one of the worst side effects I can imagine. Like you said though, if that happens just stop taking it and you’ll be fine. If it works I’m sure you’ll be absolutely stoked.

I’ve been on finasteride a few months now. Very few side effects, maybe a bit of minor gyno and not a lot of morning wood. My hair seems exactly the same if not slightly better as when I went on. I don’t have the series of miniaturised hairs in the shower coming out and it’s a wait off my shoulders and it’s been beneficial to my mental health to think I’m doing something about it.

That said I’ve set myself a 1-2 year max on it before coming off, unless sides develop really badly or something better comes along. I hope Brotzu comes soon and I hope it works but a dose of realism is needed I think.

Good for you bro! Just took my first pill and am feeling positive. I hear that a lot of the side-effects (Brainfog, depression etc.) become evident the more you think about it (a.k.a It's all in your head). Remember, the mind is a powerful tool, sometimes convincing yourself of something is enough for it to happen!

I for one set myself the same goal as you. Am going on it for 1-2 years and going to reassess my situation then. In the meantime I'm just going to take it every day and forget about it, and find comfort in the fact that there's a good chance it will work.

If it helps to maintain = great, if it actually regrows minituarized hair = f*****g awesome!, and if it does nothing = at least I tried.

As far as Brotzu goes, if it comes out in October and turns out to be absolutely revolutionary, that will be great. If it's a flop, at least we have a hair recover/replacement industry working on the potential solution lol

One first pill won't make you sick, but do that for months, you never know...

Yeah I went through a stage when I first started on it when I’d blame everything on Finasteride. To the extent I was sat it my flat the day after a big night out with a horrendous hangover convinced I was experiencing the brain fog.
The thing is you get two extremes in opinion on here, the finasteride lovers who claim everything is in the head which is rubbish, some people have a horrendous time. And some who claim that it’s the devils work. The fact is that understanding and perspective is necessary. You need to understand that sides are possible but not inevitable, and that some people do have a bad time and some don’t, everyone reacts differently m and you need to retain the perspective that some things are more important than hair.

That’s what makes Brotzu such an abstract thought, if it’s when fidia say it will be and if it does even just what it was claimed/ showed at sitri it changes everything for the next generation. It would be a sides free preventative, so the second you saw a tad of recession you could use Brotzu. At the very least that should relieve those on here convinced that they shouldn’t have kids because they don’t want to pass baldness on.
