Thanks, and yes I get it... the sides CAN be real... but transient (in most cases). I'm gonna stick it out for 2 years snd see what happens. My derm was the biggest hairloss O.G. ever btw.. I mentioned Proscar and he said "say no more..." *prescribed me 60 pills* right of the bat and told me to cut them in 4ths or 5ths (if I can).

Thanks buddy... I know most of these guys on here exaggerate the whole finasteride side-effects-thing. What's the worst that will happen? My dick won't work for a while? I'll get man titties? LOL I've seen the Merck studies... the control group reported just as many sides as the subject group... I think people forget that ED and Gyno come from many otheer lifestyle factors and/or genetic predispositions.

i've been on finasteride for years (i am in my thirties now), i was never the most masculine guy (pretty boy face, skinny) but finasteride works fine for me. infact it increased my sex drive by about 10%. never had a problem slaying (never had a problem with my penis i mean, my problem with slaying now is my hair loss means girls aren;t interested)
there must be some really weak dicked (or i suspect, weak minded) people on these boards if finasteride affects them that bad.
i've been on some drugs that really do affect sexual function (dihydrocodeine, spironolactone, etc) and even they only reduced my sex drive from once a day to once every 3 days.
i've posted many times what causes finasteride sides (basically people take a pill, then when they go to have sex or jerk it, they worry about the finasteride sides they read on the forums. this makes them anxious and so their penis doesn't get as hard / get hard at all. so they worry even more thinking this is finasteride side effects; when in reality if the finasteride had been slipped into their drink without them knowing they would have 0 problems at all) - this also is where brain fog etc comes from as they work themselves up worrying about finasteride sides. same with PFS - they stop the drug but the worrying is still there = "PFS".

Amen to that! It's all in your head. If you're constantly convinsing yourself that you're going to get sides... you're probably going to "think/feel" you got sides lol
Me? I'm just gonna pop that pill every morning and forget I ever did it and focus on life.
Sorry saying finasteride sides are all in the head is at best wrong and at worst irresponsible.
I’ve had a good experience, few sides and the ones I’ve had have been mildly annoying rather than painful and very occasional. Put it this way if during the lessons on puberty I’d been told some men will get morning wood every morning and some will keep their hair I’d be firmly in the latter camp. However the stories of sides are true and for some people finasteride is not appropriate and to say it is not is not fair. Studies show most people have no sides and maintain at worst. However they also show sides occur, and the testimonies here do also. Some having negative influences on physical and mental health. For me worrying about hairloss caused anxiety, and anxiety stopped me from eating properly. Indirectly finasteride (or rather the knowledge I was being proactive and regaining control of my own body and the strong suspicion it was working) has had a positive bearing on my general health. But we are all different people who say there are no sides are as bad as the people who call it castration. As in all things it varies from person to person.

No. Your ego is trying to convince you that most guys on here exaggerate because your ego wants you to have hair at all costs. Notice how you call everyone that is pro-finasteride here 'buddy'? And what is the worst that could happen?
- Persistant depression
- Persistant ED/low libido
- Persistant memory problems
- Persistant anxiety

Think this was just an incident? Try to google 'Fosamax', 'Tredaptive', and 'Januava'. Other products developed by Merck that have led to permanent problems and even death for people, despite the fact that they were proven to be 'safe' in FDA trials.

Sigh...It has nothing to do with how 'masculine' you are before finasteride. Saying that people that do get sides are 'weak dicked/minded' shows that you have no idea what you are talking about. I always had an extreme sex drive, have a masculine face with a square jaw, thick bear, lots of body hair, low voice and still got fucked up bad by finasteride. If I would argue from your level I could say that maybe your body is simply used to having b**ch hormons and mine was not...
If you think that finasteride is all placebo then you have no knowledge of the drug. Luckily, there is a growing amount of evidence supporting the neurological dangers of finasteride that can finally shut up broscience-practicers such as yourself.

@NW2.5372846 finasteride sides are real and they have been documented in multiple studies. They are rare and in most cases either transient and not permanent, I also do believe that placebo could make things worse. Good luck and hopefully your experience on finasteride will be a positive one.

It’s definetely not that easy. I was fine on finasteride for years and probably worried much more in the beginning, but then side effects started creeping up. I was the opposite of hypochondriac and tried to deny them, but there came a point were audible joint cracking and pain and full blown ED could not be denied anymore.
Don’t feel superior to others just because you can tolerate a drug (for now), while others can’t. It’s definetely not all mental and nobody chose his genetic predisposition, that’s why you are balding and others are not.
