People will see you as inferior and they will make sure that you remember your place.

That's how it is and there's no other way to look at it.

You definitely are your hair, look at how generic and indistinguishable from one another most bald guys are.

It will save you a lot of pain to accept all this right now instead of burying your head in the sand.

Reality catches up with you, always.

You have a severe body dysmorphic disorder Fred.

No you aren't your hair. And if you think you need hair to fit into society you are delusional. Your version of society is that of Hollywood, fantasyland. Where everybody needs to and should look like a Celebrity. Because that is the standard apparently.

Nah no BDD, some people here will tell me that my hair transplant is nothing and that I'm bald.

I don't think so, so I clearly don't have BDD, because my hair sure isn't ideal.

Everybody shouldn't look like a model, but they should at least look normal for their age.

And being bald (or severely thinning with my hair transplant) at the age of 27 is not normal.

I was half-bald at the age of 20, and completely bald at the age of 22.

And that wasn't normal. People were asking me what the f*** happened to me.

It barely starts being normal when you're in your late 40's.

Hollywood isn't the standard, normal is the standard.

Dude, your definition of "normal" is warped. Some guys start losing their hair in high school.

You could be out on the streets in the freezing cold eating out of a f*****g dumpster, but you are so concerned about what other people think of you. Saying people think you are inferior.

That is an anxiety disorder.

Do you think a person born blind, or deaf gives a flying f*** if they have hair or not? People with terminal illnesses that are going to die and they can't do anything about it?

Be thankful for whatever the f*** you have. You could of been born in Ethiopia or a war torn country.

I'm a Norwood 3 with severe diffuse thinning. Here we go with a stupid Norwood classification, and how life is all about hair and sex and getting laid.

I get by just fine dude.

I agree you aren't allowed to complain about anything (or try to fix) that's not life threathening. The only people who are allowed to complain live in 3rd world countries and are half-dead.

Before there were cars and buildings and airplanes, there were just men and women. Us. And we're driven to mate by a powerful natural force. And there is also a nature-driven force in humans to do this mating on the basis of attraction. And nature gave us a tool to use to attract. And now nature has taken from us the tool it gave us to attract. We're left with the powerful drive to mate but without the tool to make it happen. It's a recipe for major internal conflict.

If you have truly moved on from your hair loss then that means you have grown beyond mating and women. But that's doubtful because wanting to mate and wanting women is a deep biological drive embedded into the core of your being by way of 3+ billion years of evolution. You can't simply talk yourself free of this drive during a night of meditation anymore than you can change yourself from a human being into a fish.

I noticed on the shop homepage, there is a screen that says, "losing your hair is a choice" captioning a picture of a NW1 guy.

I never complain about this site, because I friggin love it.

I would like support in removing this quote.

I assure you, I am not a whiney b**ch about this stuff, but for some reason, this PARTICULAR quote upsets me, and I am sure it would upset others.

Please don't crucify me for being a whiney b**ch. I am simply stating that, for people like myself, who have tried EVERYTHING, reading this is horribly upsetting.

I love you, Buckthorn xoxoxox

If losing your hair is a choice; so is losing a limb (sorry for the bad comparison)... Yes, it's f-cking infuriating to read statements like that, when you've been to hell and back in the quest of more hair, but failed. It's not a choice; It's a disease that's mostly out of our control.

Anyway, Merry X-mas everyone (especially Buckthorn), if I had one wish for X-mas it would be to give all of you perfect hair and leave the fullheads with none.

I like your new quote btw.

We celebrated xmas early because my fam is going out of town. It was nice. My Mom wore her wig (started losing massive amounts of hair again) and I wore a hat.

My older bro (who somehow has more hair than me now) told me to take off my hat during dinner. I was drinking and instinctively said, "the horrendous discomfort I feel without my hat greatly trumps the mild inconvenience you feel by me wearing it, so f*** off" smiling. everyone laughed, knowing that I had been struggling with losing my hair.

It is good to see everyone. I am surrounded by the most loving, caring, hilarious people I could ever wish for. In addition, a new pup that is the cutest f*****g thing in the world.

In the back of my mind, I feel that all their love and acceptance just makes this harder. Like I am letting them down by destroying my hair and going bald way before I should. I mean, my older bro has identical genetics to me, is three years older (37) and still has about 60% density. I have about 20%.

I have this ONLY because I tried to treat it. 100% guaranteed, no doubt. I suppose this is why that chad thundercock NW1 behind this quote pissed me off. I don't know him, but I would like to break 8 of his ribs so he can suck his own c***.

Anyway... merry xmas EL. you're a very sweet girl and I hope you have a pleasant holiday. Perhaps 2017 will bring us all some relief. :)

Thank you, coming from a native English speaker, that means a lot. :) Puns are games, and to know and to improve a language, you have to "play" with it a lot. Besides, puns usually make people pissed, and that's funny enough for me. :D

Posting on HairLossTalk is a great way to improve your English. My parents always tell me to get the hell out of these forums, but they don't know it keeps me (relatively) sane - AND it improves my English immensely. Win-win for me!
