Time to lay down the timeline of Generation X.

It is between 1965 - 198x (early eighties).

The reason we are called that is because we're between to largely populated
groups. The baby boomers, of course, and Generation Y (mil generation).

So, we are kind of 'X' out, ignored so to speak.

Are generation isn't as populated.

@David_MPN

Are you Generation X, or Generation Y? Believe you are at the tail end of Gen X?

I'm born in 1983, so I'm among the oldest of the echo boomers / Generation Y.

That said, I'm not sure that these labels are that meaningful.

Actually, you are the youngest (or one of the youngest) of Generation X.

You're born in 1983, and according to Harvard (https://www.theatlantic.com/nationa...on-begins-and-ends-according-to-facts/359589/)

Generation X ends in 1984.

Congratulations. You are part of the ignored/unimportant generation.

But, so am I. I'm actually close to one of the oldest.

On a side note - does anyone dislike the term millennial?

I never liked the term generation X which Hairblues is/was either.

Can you remember gen x being demonised in the press hairblues?

No, it did not bother me.

its unfortunate that was all you guys took from what i wrote.

Labels are so stupid. As if we're all born in the same environment, same genetics, sex, orientation, etc.

There are so many variables, even at birth (and during pregnancy) that effect our nature when
we are born.

I don't know how stupid they are to be honest.

Its generalizations and used to distinguish age groups.

each generation is raised a little different due to parenting styles, education evolvement, socio economic differences, modern conveniences.

These things make some difference--not to character but perhaps to what is tolerable vs intolerable.

It just took my interest - I didn't want to post about the other stuff because it seemed like a specific debate between you and David.

BDD BDD BDD BDD BDD BDD BDD - @Dante92 if you haven't got the memo yet, YOU HAVE BDD!!!!! 99% of what you post on this forum is exaggerated beyond belief, if not outright untrue. And FYI, 'privilege' comes in all shapes and sizes. Your above-average IQ (the sole compliment you're getting from me)? Privilege. Upper-middle class background? Privilege. Love of literature, art, video games? Privilege. Decently sized circle of friends (and proper friends, at that)? Privilege again. I sympathise with your struggles with your appearance, I do, but ffs man, please try and develop a little perspective. You're not the ugliest guy in the world. You're a 4-5/10 (you recently admitted this). There is no f*****g way that huge mobs of people are actively going out of their way to belittle you, pick on you, make your life 'a living hell'. I can believe a couple of guys might have whaled on you at work the odd time, but the whole of Italy conspiring against you? No f*****g way. I'm not claiming 'ugly guy discrimination' doesn't exist - I experience it every day - but I just cannot believe your situation is anywhere near as horrendous as you keep claiming it is. 4/10's do not get systematically terrorised for their appearance. I don't care how pretty the people are in Milan (n.b. I've been to Milan: they're really not all that), the whole city is not out to get you. You have BDD, depression and a massive inferiority complex (ironically, the result of a galactic f*****g ego). Go see a shrink. Your perception is fucked.

P.s. At least two members (Cope and Hairblues) have seen your pics now (with various amounts of face showing). None of them thought you were even a tenth as Quasimodoesque as you keep claiming. That should tell you something. As I've said, I have a legitimate facial disfigurement, no hair whatsoever and even I don't experience the kind of treatment that you say you've been receiving. People look at me a bit weirdly pretty often, and girls don't want anything to do with me, but if you keep yourself to yourself, people are not going to go out of their way to be terrible to you. Really. They'll shun you, they'll ignore you, but they're not going to start a fight with you. Please just see a shrink. Oh, and stop being such a c*** to everyone who calls out your fairy stories: they're doing it for your own good.
I don't know about this. I think Dante just might be a unique case.
He does articulate his mistreament by his peers pretty well.
If he is imagining all of this then he has a good imagination.. and a good memory!

Plus, he never flip flops with regard to his world view.
He passionately believes he is being singled out for looking untrustworthy, and a threat to the female peace of mind.
Also, his idiot male peers at his workplace seem to take great delight in harassing his ***.

In my opinion this all equals one thing..

His appearance frightens society somewhat.
I'm inclined to believe everything he says.

That may be true and I don't, personnaly, have any right to tell how he must feel or if he is exagerating or not.
That being said, it does not give him the right to be rude to people on the account of his suffering (we all have issues ffs!). If you don't want to have people opinion on your look, don't post pictures maybe. And even if you desagree, stop acting like you are the only suffering people on earth. No?
His reactions, IMO, are often a bit "dramatic".

This is why I used to not like Dante, but I've come to realise he's been through a lot that most of us don't understand.

I still think we shouldn't baby him however, he's not entitled to be a c***. He does jump on any situation that even mentions his looks or compliments him in any form, to near parody level at this point. It's just like, so predictable.

That's the problem with alot of people. You can't change the way he feels about himself or his situation. Not only that he does not ask anyone too. I respect Dante enough to let him be. I will continue to wish him the best as always. Help is out there for anyone to take advantage. He likes it here because most people don't judge here. Lately, I have been getting some PM's from newbies telling me how I am one of their favorite posters. Its nice to be appreciated. In a way, Dante's posts are expressive works of art. Some will appreciate his creativity more than others. By the way h.l., even if some people don't like your posts, I do. You are one of those people who's posts I will read. I actually look forward to interactions between Hairblues and David. They can be quite entertaining.

Actually, I do appreciate his humor a lot, and made him a ton of compliments. Does not mean he can get away with everything though... don't you think?
Can you be more specific with "he can't get away with everything though"?

Well sometimes he reacts too dramatically and basically just tell you to shut up cause you are just a "priviledged good looking woman"... Or his reaction when I draw on one of his pics to say the icone appearing on it was nice... he told me to never again quote one of his pic... even though I did not comment about him on it and deleted it as he asked me.
Of course, when he get's disrespectful you need to call him out on that. Does he back off or does he continue to be disrespectful?
