I don't know about this. I think Dante just might be a unique case.
He does articulate his mistreament by his peers pretty well.
If he is imagining all of this then he has a good imagination.. and a good memory!

Plus, he never flip flops with regard to his world view.
He passionately believes he is being singled out for looking untrustworthy, and a threat to the female peace of mind.
Also, his idiot male peers at his workplace seem to take great delight in harassing his ***.

In my opinion this all equals one thing..

His appearance frightens society somewhat.
I'm inclined to believe everything he says.

I DO believe Dante is ridiculed by his peers and has suffered abuse.
I have no reason to doubt him on that.

What i doubt was the specific story he told on this thread and i doubt it simply because i saw photos of his hair on another thread.

I have no way to know if he is or is not deformed because his face was blocked out mostly....from just what i saw he looked fine to me.

Again i am just speaking about the story he told on this thread--i think it is BS i can be wrong i can be right who the hell cares..

And if i was a Sweedish bikini model or a young bald incel i have a right to state what i factually believe regardless of someone getting 'hurt'.

Can you be more specific with "he can't get away with everything though"?

My issue is not Dante to be honest...>I think Dante is very good at sticking up for himself on any issue. I actually like Dante's posts.

My issue is other posters instinct to hyper defend him and make excuses for him as if he is an ignorant, damaged child.

he is a man who is highly educated sounds as if he is accomplished for his age and he is probably smarter on many subjects than most of us.

He suffered abuse--i get it. Loud and clear.

No one on this forum has abused or bullied Dante-- at least nothing i have read or i have written.

He does not need to be coddled or protected like a child from other posters.

It is a shame though he went at Pas because i think she genuinely likes and respects him. And i think he likes her although he won't admit that.

You can say whatever you want.

However it's standard common courtesy that people be diligent in how they express themselves so as not to hurt others. Most people don't say everything they think.

You are legally allowed to fart, burp, pick your nose, scratch your ***, chew with your mouth open, drool, and speak like a pig. You won't be arrested for it, it's just accepted that people won't, and most of us learn this by the end of high school.

All of us often think bad, negative, or nasty things, but most of us don't express it every single time, as that's an largely unwritten expectation of polite society.

You are right

But when someone states facts and opinions based on facts it's not an insult.

Im not going to accommodate how i speak because Dante MAY take it wrong because he MAY have been abused.

And the truth was it did not bother Dante--it bothered you.

Very true. But if you want to have a logical conversation these expectations can sometimes get in the way. Especially with super sensitive people.

An example. I wouldn't go up to a religious person on the street and tell them that they believe in ridiculously untrue things. But I cannot have a philosophical discussion about religion with these limits of politeness.

In other words, there's a time and a place to be polite, but there's also times when the truth should be heard.

I'm not sure what specific event you guys are talking about though.

By the way h.l., even if some people don't like your posts, I do. You are one of those people who's posts I will read.

Haha thank you but this is kinda like that joke "You're alright man, I don't care what everyone else says..."

If this is in relation to @rclark (used the "mention" feature so I'm not bitching behind your back, buddy) then that hardly counts, but for the most part I like to think people either find some of my posts too exhausting to read and therefore don't care (which is fine) or they get something from them.

But regardless, most of the people I respect on here have shown some appreciation back, so that's all I really care about. Case in point:

I like @h.l. 's posts. He's smart, his head is screwed on right, and he's a good writer.

I agree with you :)

Thanks guys.

I laughed so hard when he mentioned you don't know where the "period" key on your keyboard is located. You are better with that now.

Dante said he was bullied, he referenced an incident.
@hairblues said she didn't believe him.
I said it's impossible for her to know given her privileged status as an attractive woman.
She got mad.

A discussion of religion is not the same as we all make an impactful choice to be observers or not to be, which affects our lives and those around us. That's very different from shouting "liar!" to a victim of persecution. North America is also largely religion neutral, for the most part being religious or not doesn't undermine your life to the same extent being poor, ugly, disabled, or Black does, areas where discrimination is more severe.

A discussion of religion can be detached, you're not necessarily imposing and exacerbating sociological oppression.

TDKR; "religion is dumb" is far less bad than "poor people are just lazy."

Was just using religion as an example, my point applies to other things though.

If I'm having a logical discussion about poor people and I'm restricted from saying "poor people are lazy" then I can't have a proper discussion.

Even if I'm having a logical discussion about someones appearance I'd have to be allowed say "you're ugly" otherwise the conversation isn't logical.

I kind of dislike when people call other's liars on anonymous forums, it's largely impossible to determine so you kind of have to presume the truth. But there are exceptions (nameless f*****g 2000 women :p).

Yes that's a good example, I called him out on it too. He recently confessed that he made it up.

If you did tell someone they're ugly, I'm sure you would be tactful about it. I say that based upon your posting history.

Dante made a post of a specific story on this thread.

He said when he holds a door for people when wearing a baseball cap--peopel are fine
but when he holds a door without a baseball cap people shun away from him. (I'm paraphrasing)

I recently saw a photo of Dante with most of his face blocked out (photo is on this thread i t think)

his hair if you are NOT a sufferer from hair loss looks fine.

To the naked eye its fine.

I said that based on photo of him i believe him to be exaggerating THIS story. NOT his life experiences.

David took it upon himself to tell me that as an attractive woman i have no idea Dantes life experiences and that it would be hurtful for him to hear this from me.

I compared that to a far left feminist policing what men should and should not say about their specific experiences--meaning men have a right to an opinion and to say something to a womans specific experiences when photo evidences shows different..YOu have a right to say something and not have to worry it will be hurtful because that person may take it wrong.

He dug in and then compared it to white people not being able to question a black persons experiences...This is also bullshit...a specific situation when photographic evidence that say other??
we would not be able to to have mixed racial courts and juries if this was the case.

He also does this thing--often with me which is making me lose so much respect for him
whenever we have a debate--which 9 out of 10 time he initiates with me which is fine--he gets super paranoid if I am mad at him or being 'mean' to him.

Its very weird.

sure is

what a disgusting monster lol

I think he removed his pictures from his thread, please don't post his pictures here unless he allows it (which I doubt).
That said, his hair looks pretty good in that picture, I do see some thinning but not anything extreme.
His hair loss might have progressed since that picture was taken, though.

You should have the right to say whatever you like about anyone else experiences. Even someone colossally different to you. This doesn't mean you actually know what you're talking about, and it certainly doesn't mean that other people shouldn't call you out when they think you don't know what you're talking about.

But the fact that this might be hurtful to Dante seems slightly ridiculous to me. It's the internet, you're going to read things you don't like. It's nice to be nice, but as I said if it gets in the way of a logical conversation then I'd ask the 'hurt' people to remove themselves from the conversation rather than the conversation to be shut down.

I will agree with David that it's likely you have little idea what it's like, even I, as a balding average male, don't think I can imagine Dante's struggles.

It's awful when people use somebody's pictures against them,in a mean spirited way.

This Dante situation, but also there were incidents with @Baldhurts and @WhitePolarBear (on another forum I think).

It should be completely against the rules to troll somebody's photos, resulting in automatic deletion and warning from moderators.
