My Zix Experience - How B6 And Zinc Have Saved My Hair

Hi guys, It's about 8 months since adding zix to my regimen. I've been wavering with good and bad hair days, and its hard to assess where I'm at as it slow day to day progress. But I definitely maintain, that I've seen a big improvement when combining the two applied 1x day each 12 hours apart.

While my temples have receded over the past 16 years on zix, they've moved at a glacial pace, still about an inch over that time though. My hair was slowly going thinner, again at no noticeable pace.

Minoxidil gave me back about 5-7 years. Hair is way thicker and darker, my temples are solidifying, where there is hair that seems to be growing in. In ways I feel more confident about my hair than I did 12-13 years ago.

My hairline is still about an inch higher, than when I started zix over a decade ago, but the quality of my hair is in other ways better, denser. In the more recent years it looked a bit thin at the crown while on zix alone, especially accentuated when it was greasy. but now there is no real evidence of that.

I wish I had started this periment a decade ago. Anyhow who is to say how long the gains will continue or will last, but so far so good. I am hopeful I will continue to see progress in the next few months as well.
Will keep u all updated.

In a way yes but not completely, but it was way more effective at reducing the itch.

sorry to bother you but did you noticed an increase in wrinkles since using min? and do you think zix could be useull for folliculitis since it contains zinc?

dont know what folliculitis is.

It's tough to say about wrinkles, I am closing in on my mid 40's and look very young for my age. The stress of work, two kids under 4 waking constantly in the middle of the night, constant colds, kids home from daycare due to covid fears has worn my body quite a bit the past year.

I look older, but I think it's because I have very little rest. My work day, when I can get to it, is the most relaxing part of my day.

today for example, I noticed the circles under my eyes were not very noticeable (Ive always had some degree of dark circle even pre minoxidil). So long story short, I dont think minoxidil has cause more wrinkles. If anything my hair looks so much better, it in a way makes me look younger despite my constant fatigue.

So guys I just received my zinc sulphate from the UK and am ready to mix my first bottle of Zix!

I have two more questions:

1. The Zinc Sulphate from Health Aid Brand has a lot of other ingredients, I will upload a picture. Do you think this is a problem?

2. I am currently on an experimental oral vitamin stack I take everyday, also to combat hair loss. These are the daily dosages:

• vitamin B2 (riboflavin): 100 mg
• vitamin B6 as pyridoxal-5-phosphate: 100 mg
• vitamin B9 as L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate (e.g. quatrefolic): 800 mcg
• vitamin B12 as methylcobalamin: 1,000 mcg
• ascorbic acid: ~75% of your bowel tolerance dose
• vitamin A as retinyl palmitate: 25,000 IE
• vitamin D3: as much as it takes you to reach a blood 25(OH)D level of at least 90 ng/mL
• vitamin K2 as all-trans menaquinone-7: 200 mcg
• elemental magnesium in whatever form your gut tolerates well: 400-600 mg
• trimethylglycine: 2,000 mg

Do you think any of these could somehow interfere the effectiveness of Zix? Especially because Vitamin B6 is also part of the above listed stack.

Just a quick update. I came across a picture of me from 6 years ago. Albeit not my best hair day, I did think my hair at the time looked quite good. I compare it to now and think my hair looks better now. Its way more dense on top now.

So I find the addition of minoxidil to my zix has given me 6, more likely 8-10 years back. Hairline has receded some, but seems to be strengthening, so crossing fingers in that front.

Hi, did you mix it?
I ordered the same Zinc Sulphate. It's really hard to get any other Zinc Sulphate in Europe. I noticed that PlusPharma Zinc Sulphate recommended by Worm also has some additional ingredients (but far less)..

I just applied for the first time, so far so good.

At the same time I found the original Zinc sulphate that worm uses as an import from USA for decent price:

I ordered this, just to be sure.

@worm can you post a pic before applying zix and after? want to see how zix works as a concealer

Not a concealer. It helps increase volume as a follicle lifter, seems to help with cosmetic thickening (hair feels coarser)

Has anyone found pure heptahydrate powder that is high purity (not industrial grade)? I used to be able to get some on eBay but none of the old sellers still have it.

Would prefer not to deal with pills as they have tons of filler.

(And yeah I'm considering trying this again if even at low doses)

Would Zix also be effective for Alopecia Areata?

Next to androgenic alopecia I also suffer from Alopecia Areata, meaning I have inflamed, red, sore spots at my neck and sides, continued by hair loss at these spots in a circular pattern.

Since Zix generally helps with inflammation I wondered if it might be able to help with this kind of hair loss.

I will definitely test it, am already applying Zix in the respective areas (nothing else works for Alopecia areata anyway...).

I'm sorry, what?

Anyway, the majority of zinc in serum is normally bound to proteins like albumin. I assume the zinc sulphate bond gets reasonably easily broken and then the free ion concentrations increase in serum beyond the level that the body would normally allow, inhibiting enzymes and causing side effects until it gets scooped up by the albumin in the bloodstream.

When you take zinc orally, obviously it never makes it past the liver in free-form so it's not an issue.

Thank you, then I'll steer away from zix. Which treatment gave you the best efficacy to side effect ratio?
