So I’ve been able to source the B6 and the distilled water, however I’ve been unable to find zinc sulfate that comes in 220mg or ethyl alcohol with 70% or less concentration. I live in the uk.

Any tips? I would try to find an answer in the thread but as you can see it’s quite long.

Everything has a benefit/risk ratio. Dutasteride is well researched and proven to stop hair loss while most types of zinc only inhibit 5AR1 which doesn't play a role in hair loss. I have used it long enough and zix isn't worth it for me at this point. On the other hand I have gained a norwood on topical dutasteride with absolute zero issues. Wish I knew about it before
Hey, where did you source your topical dutasteride from?

You can find it on ebay, type in ethyl alcohol or ethanol. It should say in the description or on the label. And it doesnt have to be exactly 70%, you can just use different amount of distilled water to compensate. Make sure it isnt isopropyl alcohol.
Why can't you use isopropyl? It's used in some other topicals.

I would like to add azelaic acid to the basic Zix, in what percentage should I put it?

Hi guys, just a quick update. Been on zix 16 years or something like that. Hair was ok, but time was receding my hairline and it was slowly thinning. Still great hair, but not like in my 20's. Zix has been awesome for slowing the loss.

Anyhow, i added minoxidil 9 months ago, and all I can say is why didnt I do this years ago. Everything is thicker. Ive gained about 7 years of density back. I checked out my crown and there is no sign of any balding, whereas it when my hair was greasy, you could see my oily scalp and it was visibly thinning. Now it's dense and while you can see a part when its oily and some scalp, it still looks dense and no sign of a bald spot.

Hairline has thickened, but cant say it's dropped any. The increase in thickness does make me look like i have a way stronger hairline though. Apply minoxidil 1x in the morning, and apply zix 1x at night. That's it!

Are you using liquid or foam? And do you wash out the Zix before applying minoxidil?

I recall some saying alcohol isn't necessary, just distilled water, is that still the consensus? I was doing that for a while and am going to restart. Does anyone have strong opinions/information regarding the importance of alcohol? thanks

If you're not adding ethanol to your zix, then add microneedling to your regimen. Check the big minoxidil/needling thread for more information.
its a big thread.. havent found it, sorry to ask but is there a needling connection particularly if not using alcohol?

So I don’t need ethanol? I feel like my scalp will react badly too it. micro needling with distilled water zix is enough?

with the recent talk about intrafollicular prolactin and the bayer antibody...

given that p5p inhibits prolactin...

anybody tried p5p solo without the zinc?

I have not, sorry, but it is quite interesting. Do you p5p can inhibit prolactin at the follicle when applied to the scalp?

So I've been using Zix for a while now.. I seem to get a reaction on my face if I use it too much. I basically get small brown patches on my skin (near my eyes and one near my mouth). Also in some instances, there appears to be a yellow powder surfacing from underneath the skin in those areas. The areas are slightly itchy too.

I think I can only use it once every two days. Also trying to needle once every two weeks. But I don't think this is enough as it has slowed the hairloss a little but not stopped it. I'm thinking of jumping on the minoxidil train but really not too sure if I should try and add something else first before that.

I haven't tried minoxidil before - mainly 'cause once you on it, you can't stop. That being said though there's probably not a lot time before it becomes too late for me.
