Any regrowth, worm? By that I mean do miniaturizing hairs thicken back up? I realize that the last time you had massive shedding was after you dropped finasteride many years ago but just wondering. Also why'd you drop the polysorbate 80?

Well I believe finasteride can reverse miniaturized hairs, I've seen it first hand with a friend. That said I believe it's more potent than zix, albeit with way more sides. So when switching from finasteride to nothing, to zix, I did see some recovery however over the 13 or so years I've been using zix I have been slowly thinning. So by that virtue, the immediate effect may turn some hairs around, but in the long run nature will have its way, but at a virtual fraction of the pace.

Other than @JWM2 friend who has been using minoxidil and zix and has had very good results, I'm pm'ing with a user who is starting to see some results with both also. It's early for him, but my thought is that if you would like to see some more effective regrowth, it would probably be best to combine with minoxidil.

Ey bro y u dun answer muh question?

I dont know, I think when I mixed the polysorbate in, it was a different formula. Whatever it was in that formula wasnt working. Does it mean P80 wasnt working? No. I never really experimented with it tbh.

Ive seen polysorbate has had positive effects anecdotally, and so it could help zix. I believe back 20-30 years ago, there was something called the grecian formula or something, which was basically just polysorbate 80, I suppose due to lack of response it never took off. Also, I think Joe's super zix 2, has it. Ultimately, if you're interested, I see no harm in trying, compare the 2 and see if zix with vs without polysorbate works better.

man i been reading a lot old threads about zix from hairlosshelp and here. seems it was quite successful back in the day. probably big reason why no one kept it up is because they didnt see results straight away (like all drug)

i wish i found this place 10 tens years ago :(

@worm from all the testimonials youve read about zix over the years, do you think it can effective for a nw4 diffuse guy like me? for at least maintenance?

or is it too late to me, too much miniaturization has already take place for this to work effectively? do the hairs need to be in relative full health for this to work ok?

I got sexual side effects when taking finasteride and was wondering if you would recommend B6 and Zinc as an alternative to finasteride?

Yes, I would say so, I do not think it's as effective as finasteride however, but I think it'll slow the rate of loss many fold.

It's tough to say, but I believe it significantly slows the rate of loss to a snails pace, however I hesitate to say it'll have a huge impact on regrowth. However I do think it'll bring back a few months.

I would like to think it is effective when used with minoxidil, as some have reported, which imo would be a good recipe to not only maintain but also for regrowth.

I think the best thing to do is start with joe's original ZIX, add a little ethyl alcohol, and see how it works. From there, increase the concentration.

I can't say if it'll work for you as it does me and others, but there's only one way to find out.

I would say start slow, I may have developed a tolerance for this stuff, so I would recommend using 1 zinc capsule then slowly moving up .You'll see pretty quickly how you respond.

Do you have an itchy head? What other treatments are you using?

i get that typical itch most guys talk about, the feeling of little insects going nuts on your scalp. but only in short bursts. last like 5/10mins then it goes away. ive had this for the past 10 years or so. comes and goes very randomly. sometimes ill get it for a few days in a row, then it wont come back for a few months.

this itch is basically the dht attacking the follicles right? and the frequency i get this itch seems to correlate with the speed of my baldness. even though i am quite bald now lol, my loss has been very steady and gradual over the last 12/13 years. i had noticeable thinning at 18, but now at 30 i still have hair everywhere aside from my temples. if i could halt my hair now and get a hair transplant or two i would sorted.

this is why i am pissed off i didnt try any treatments when i was younger because i think i could have stopped it, or at least slowed it down with even less powerful treatments like zix.

i think finasteride was just too f*****g strong for me. it worked too well. sides were awful.

apart from this occasional itch i get i have no scalp problems. none if this crazy burning hot red sh*t people talk about. constant inflammation

i restarted min a few months ago, ill do it for a few more to see how it works out. ill add zix and nizoral to cover the other angles and see where that gets me. might add some other things too, like sods and other random things.

for me the itch was a big sign i was balding, which consequently went away with the use of zix. I had it constantly though, so every person is different. How is minoxidil working for you?

When you start on zix, make sure you start with a lower dose of zinc, 1 maybe two capsules.

Cheers!

Why you stopped use minoxidil?

It worked well for me as well and I stopped too. I stopped because I had problems with my vision and heart, because I was combining it with something that was giving it incredible absorption. Everything is back to normal, and it's been 13 years. Now I think I am reluctant to apply 2x a day, just because it's inconvenient.

Great to hear. How many months have you been using minoxidil, and what is your experience?
