I agree. It remains to be seen. It could be better or it could be worse, for the moment it is conjecture.

The thing is, they did bleed on the study, as chromeo said, "mild erythma" was an error... somebody got in touch with one of the guys doing the study, and he said they did bleed (but I'm sure not nearly as much as 2young2retire...)

I am working my temples the hardest, it seems to take a little more effort there for me also

relax. you are 35 years old, registered on a HAIR LOSS forum site. you are also a french canadian (nuff said). u also are one of the biggest **** talkers and bullies on this thread and you UPLOADED ZERO PICS. So stfu. and you are really letting my question get under your skin? im really trying to imagine you on your computer at 35 years of age pulling out what hair you have left over a question i asked. my hairline got a tad worse than when i started and 2young2retire is doing well, and i was simply asking him if his hairline got pushed back before it got better. now **** off eh?[/QUOT

seriously squeegee take a breath, you have acted like an *** a couple ties on my posts also, we are trying to do the same thing. danawhite1 weren't you having results

i thought i was, i even posted before and after pics thinking i did, but upon second glance and more "feeling" of the receding hairline (less dense and feeling less coverage when i run my fingers on my hairline) that im sure everyone here is familiar with, i took the pics down. but eff it here, ill post it and u be the judge. update.jpg20131114_032734.jpg
The right pic was taken a month ago, the left pic was taken today. same angles and lighting, but on the left pic my foreheads more tanned cuz i train mma and our coach has us running on the beach, which i dont mind. (sunlight is good for hair).

Even if the subjects in the study did sometimes bleed, from this we still can't conclude that bleeding is "mandatory for best results". The study did not set out to prove that. The amount of blood could be totally irrelevant, or it could equally be detrimental --- we don't know.

i believe bleeding helps it become more effective. blood to the follicles is not a bad thing. look at how minoxidil works. "Minoxidil is also a vasodilator.[SUP][5][/SUP] Hypothetically, by widening blood vessels and opening potassium channels, it allows more oxygen, blood, and nutrients to the follicle. This may cause follicles in the telogen phase to shed, which are then replaced by thicker hairs in a new anagen phase."

Again, this may be the case. Although the mechanism of minoxidil action is also not fully understood (normalisation of PGE2 levels is a co/competing theory to increased vascularisation). My point is that no one can make these claims with authority. Scientifically, there are unanswered questions. Which is fine as long as people are aware of that.

isnt 2.5 a bit deep?
Though 1.5 was about the max possibly 2 tops you would want to use.

just noticed something weird, after rolling I wiped my head with a wet wash rag, 20 minutes after that I go in the bathroom to see and there is white chrystal/salt looking things all over my head ,WTF???, not like skin but harder, clear, not scabs, basically around the wounds

probably just clotting, from the puss and thing blood. I will get those occassionally around like ingorwns or popped pimples when they crust over really fast.

This is simply not true. The truth is no one knows for sure --- it is early days and there are still many unknowns.

Derma rolling is not new in the Hairloss business. Do some research on here or google.. People been derma rolling with barely no results to report in the past with smaller needles.. .50mm 1.0mm Bleeding is an important factor for reconstruction. 3.0mm is used in Collagen Induction Therapy Clinics with local anesthesia. Bleeding releases platelets and growth factors needed for proper restructure of your scalp.Once again, the same subject has been discussed already in this thread. You don't believe me? Just do the **** you want. Weak rolling, weak results.

nothing wrong with being 35 at all, except ur not acting your age. you are 35, acting like an internet tough guy in a hairloss forum, talking about ****ing people's gfs. we are all helping each other achieve the same goal. if you are a professor, would you cuss your students out if they ask you a question about something you know all about? no one is going to go through 300 pages (3000 posts). this thread has become an open discussion so there will be experienced dermarollers posting good updates as well as newbies posting the occasionally newbie questions. if you arent going to answer the newbie questions then stfu and let someone else who isnt an a**h** answer them. there are plenty of patient "veterans" here who dont mind answering newbie questions, let them do it.

Like i said before, this is an OPEN DISCUSSION, not a dermarolling CULT. meaning people here have the right to be skeptical and not 100% aboard the dermarolling train without getting their head chewed off. im 24, saving what i have not regaining what i lost. and THAT is what gets me more pussy than you. btw it's "couldnt care less"

Why the hell I should act my age again? Society is telling everybody to act their ages? **** society. The same people told me that going bald is normal, I should not put a fight because it is gene related. LOL funny because I've been losing my hair since the age of 24 years old. I still have my hair on my pumpkin at the age of 35. Start reading the thread.. 300 pages.. big ****ing deal.. before asking some dumb questions.. Pen and paper.. BTW Danawhite.. your best fighter pounds for pounds is a French Canadian..

Previously, people were also rolling less consistently.

Bleeding is an important factor for reconstruction.
Do you have a citation/proof for that? In the context of hair loss.

Define scalp "restructuring". Did you coin this phrase yourself?

yes.. LOL.. because Androgen Alopecia is a result of a local chronic inflammation.. this is why Fibrosis, PGD2 is in the mix... Micro-vascularity has been damaged. This is why remodeling it with the derma roller is brilliant. It is been discussed on here already..

someone at BTT commented it looked like I had just had a hair transplant with all the blood spots, it got me thinking about what happens after a hair transplant to exhisting hairs, shock loss, hopefully going harder and deeper wont cause that unless that is happening right now and not normal shedding

Does anyone know how long it takes for Minoxidil to 'sink in'?

Meaning, how long do I have to let it sit on my scalp before whatever will be absorbed is absorbed?

I sweat a lot from my hairline in front. This means minoxidil is running down my face every time I sweat. I'm worried about long-term damage to my facial skin (the classic minoxidil side effects, described by many people in this thread).

Would be great if I could just wash out my hair after an hour, or however long it takes for minoxidil to do its thing.
There's always a layer of greasy residue, no matter how long I let minoxidil sit. I'm sure that never gets absorbed into the scalp. Might as well wash it off.

You are avoiding the question. Where is the evidence for what you are saying? PGD2 effects are mediated by the GPR44 receptor on the hair follicle, this has nothing to do with microvasculature or fibrosis. The PGD2/PGE2 theory alone is enough to explain androgenetic alopecia (which dermarolling may indeed influence).

Pretty sure you have to wait 4 hours before washing/wetting your hair after a minoxidil application

I believe I can answer that. There was one study that found that after an hour, 50% of the drug is absorbed and after 4 hours 75% of the drug is absorbed. This is a bad study because they didn't observe absorption after 2 hours, which I believe is the time at which the solution is fully dried on your scalp. I think we can safely assume that 75% is the max that will be absorbed and is the percentage absorbed after 2 hours which is the time at which the solution has fully dried on the scalp according to my observation.

yes it is, thanks. And respect to squeege? wow this is really a cult now. FOR WHAT! signing up on a hairloss forum 6 years before i did? to a certain extent, yes...he is more experienced in this area than i am and i did respect him to a point where i even private messaged him for advice on my regimen but seeing him act like an *** to people here just asking questions made me talk ****.

squeege its funny how you said earlier to people that if anyone has nothing positive to add then dont say anything at all, yet you choose to write big fonts cussing people out when all it takes is one sentence to answer questions or just not saying anything at all and let someone else answer. 300 pages not a big deal? u were a constant poster since the beginning of this thread so u didnt have to read all of it. the new people here arent gonna read 300 pages cause we have **** to do in our lives to waste time reading 300 pages when we can just get an answer from people who arent assholes. so how bout this, if u dont want to answer someone's questions then just dont reply to it instead of taking the time to write out a big essay ****ting on them. i still cant even believe im still arguing with u on this, lets just kill the beef and help each other grow/keep some ****ing hair

and for the record i am a fan of gsp. real nice guy
