Just the act of living your life is selfish. It's a truly meaningless point.

Almost everything we do is in our own self interest. That doesn't mean that someone can't be more selfish than someone else. That doesn't void 'selfish' as a criticism.

If I were to eat the last burger, knowing that my bro is hungry, he could criticize me for being selfish. This is a valid criticism.

Now if I were to leave the burger, someone could point out that I only did this to keep relations smooth with my brother. Thus it's in my own self interest. But obviously "selfish" wouldn't be a valid criticism here.

Sorry, after seeing what he looks like, I think anything that this guy wrote is probably a cope.

Seemingly deep quotes to make their feel better about their incel existence.

It's no wonder that most philosophers look like this:

Why is it that it's never good-looking people that come up with this kind of pseudo-intellectual BS?

At least their faces would halo the f*** out of their writings.

But good-looking people don't need to write and reflect to feel better about their existence.

This is how a Michel Houellebecq essay reads to me:

Cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope cope.

Yes, it's self-interest and the will to fit it, to be normal, to be seen as a 'winner' all play a role in this decision.

When my friends will be talking about their kids doing well in school, I don't want to be like "Look at what my dog can do! He's a good boy!".

Loser.

I also don't want to be a disappointment for my family, it's only natural that my mother wants to be a grandmother for example.

And before you say 'why do you care about what others think?', isn't being accepted by others one of the reasons we want hair?

Yes there is the identity component, the aesthetic aspect, but what comes third? Social acceptance.

Being at peace with how we look and liking what we see in the mirror are crucial to normally function in society.

And so is having kids at a point. I've seen how childless people were treated by society: they are mocked and seen as failures. That's just how it is. You can say 'so what?! f*** them!' all you want, I'll just reply 'so what people care about your hair loss?! f*** them.'

Of course this is not my main drive for wanting kids, there's also having someone to take care of me when I'm old, and before you get cynical about that one, I see both my father and my mother take very good care of their folks.

I also want a legacy. I want to experience what my father and my grandfather felt the day their child were born, they said it was the happiest day of their lives. Most men will tell you this.

So selfish! Yeah, we all are. I'm selfish for wanting kids, and you're selfish for not wanting them and putting yourself first. Works both ways.

You are going on a tangent that is not making sense to what i wrote.

It is ridiculous to equate the effect of what people think of your personal life choices and what they think of your appearance.

You are very defensive on this subject when no one is criticizing what you choose to do. its starting to make me wonder if thou protest too much.

I did not call you selfish i called myself 'self interest' not to have kids. Somehow you flipped it.

1--if you want kids have at it

2--if you don't want kids have at it.

3--i don't ever recall growing up and hearing people mocked for not having kids so maybe its geographical thing.

4--you are really defensive about this when no one is telling you what to do or judging you--i'm certainly not. I could give zero fucks how many kids you have or dont have.

5--who really gives a sh*t if a guy waits until he's 35 to really figure out if he wants kids or not. KJ is 28...he has a few years to figure it out. Im pretty sure he is in US--it's very common for men to have kids well into 30s.

I was not using 'selfish' or self interest as a criticism.

Its also about degrees of selfishness....

A couple wanting a child and having it--self interest

The Octomom--selifsh and a little crazy.

legit af but its not pseudo intellectual yo

philosophy is needed to question our assumptions and exercise our critical thinking

its the literal basis of civilization

philosophy led to logic and empiricism, which led to science and technology and government and economies

I've been in that kind of relationship in the past, the girl was really hot, out of my league, but I was inexperienced, had low self-esteem, and most importantly I was sporting a slick NW5, so I put up with it, until it made us both really unhappy.

I still remember the immense relief I felt when she broke up with me.

Recipe for disaster indeed.

Now I only settle with girls who are in my league and are legit crazy about me, anything less is not worth it in my opinion.

I'd rather be single than being with some of the other girls I've dated this year. No spark in their eye, quick casual sex to relieve the pressure and comments about 'seeing where it goes without great expectations'.

You will never build a solid relationship with that kind of start.

I always loose when see verb "sporting" in context of wearing some degree of norwood.

I picture a shaved guy in sport tracksuit like this:

Yeah I wish I could be this picky.

Went on two dates with a nice enough girl before. I knew she had a few guys going. She didn't try and hide it whatsoever. We fooled around a bit in the car and the next day I asked her if she wanted to get a hotel on the weekend (I was living at home and so was she). She said yes and I couldn't have been more excited.

She was texting me, dirty mouth, flirting, everything.

Weekend rolls on and she ghosts me completely. Luckily I hadn't booked anything. No doubt she had made a few arrangements and picked the best.

Anyhow, a week later she texts me again. Horny, pathetic me texts her back. She makes up some clearly bullshit story. I could see on her facebook that she had some fight with some other guy. I ask her out again. She made up some bullshit excuse on the day.

I told her to f*** off, she was like "haha why are you so angry we only went on two dates???". I could tell she was enjoying my anger in not getting to see her.

All part of my learning process. One cancelled meet = f*** off. One "Oh I'm texting this other guy as well" = f*** off.

Even if it's just for casual sex. Not playing these f*****g retarded games. sh*t like this is why I'm so sick of Tinder.

Unbelievable. In the upper pics he looks like as if he is in his 40's. Can steroids change someones face so drastically in just few years? People should steer clear of that poison if that's the case.

I have the same hairline - I just grow mine out, don't wear a tracksuit, and I am not a slav. But this kind of hair loss women don't care that much about at my age. Its significant hair loss that really kills your game
