Realistic Expectation From Follica's Treatment

I feel like most vets in here realize that Follica looks to be one of the most promising treatments that will likely be released in the near future. My question is what exactly are you expecting? I know @Noisette has shared several posts with all of us about Follica, their approach, and their results using minoxidil. We know that Follica was able to yield 19 terminal hairs/square cm with minoxidil+wounding, and 16 terminal hairs/square cm with only wounding. We know they are currently preparing to perform a pivotal trial for phase 3, and that could possibly consist of using FGF9 as a stimulant for hair growth. That being said if FGF9 is used what could reasonable expectation, or hope be for terminal hairs/square cm regrowth? I'm hoping there are some out there with knowledge of FGF9 that could help us out on possible expectations from using this growth factor?

I don't know about Follica's final protocol, FGF9 will be most likely just a part of their cocktail
But the good news is that the process can be repeated to build density over time.

You think Norwood 7 to Norwood 1 density?

This is why we need NHL11 back, because of fuckers like this.

I just cant reconcile that "wounding is backed up by science and studies bla bla bla" argument and them still delaying and not having a marketable product after all these years. it doesnt add up.I would really love it to work since it would be relatively cheap and could provide increase in density, but I cant get optimistic about them despite that.

dont people feel silly repeating how follicas concept is proven to work for years, and still getting balder and balder every day?

We will be lucky to get sparse regrowth on areas that have been barren, in my opinion. I really doubt slick bald areas will have dense regrowth, no matter how long you repeat this process. Hope im wrong, but i dont think anyone past a nw3 is going to see nw1 again with follica alone

Did you know that the concept of wound induced follicle neogenesis has been known since the 1950s? Also Follica has been around since 2006, what have they been doing in the decade since then? Is it really that complicated to create some needling device that can trick your scalp into growing new hair? Follica will probably only be able to regrow bum fluff and you might need to keep doing it for it to stay. But in freaking 2017 these hair regrowth companies haven't even been able to figure out how to create needles to regrow some temporary hairs. Really makes me pessimistic about their chances of perfecting hair cloning.

Amen.
Unless they have a secret chemical concoction up their sleeve, im not banking on this being a cure all

at this point it looks like they are waiting for someone else to come up with a scientific breakthrough, similar to the lactate one, which they will then incorporate in their protocol

They said they are creating some sort of topical solution to assist in the regrowth. My bet is it will be about as effective as Regenix.

Why? It's not possible to create a new thick hair in a area with not healthy hair around? We have absolutly need healthy cells for good results with Follica? I'm DUPA. My whole scalp is a disaster

University of penn (cots) is business partners with a few different companies that are in the beginning stages of developing a treatment for male pattern baldness. I believe we will not see any of these beginning stage products for a good decade.basically cots is handing his patents over to these different companies to try and come up with something. This will take a very long time with the fda.

If you doubt that dermarolling + agressive antiandrogen cannot fix slick bald areas check somebody's thread, his videos and think again. He used to be legit diffuse NW3 with a receding hairline. Now a thick NW0.

Everything is ready the device, the mobile application and the patents (which are not cheap). I think it will go to the market soon.
