Has anyone considered that a noticeable loss of hair since getting this threading done might be a good sign? Like follicles under repair ejecting their current hair shaft as part of their recovery?

My dht went up after taking duta. I’m sceptical about its mechanisms of use for dht inhibition
It's interesting you mention this. My libido has increased beyond what was natural before, yet I am maintaining and have had slight regrowth in recent months. I started on Oral Minoxidil around the same time though. Perhaps it's that?

Hmm That's not very encouraging, but I've heard of plenty of finasteride cases where shedding came before regrowth too... I just think it's a little bit early to be writing this one off just yet.

Did the oral minoxidil cause any side effects that were worrisome?
Well for me, I can’t go above 2.5mg orally because I get really bad water retention and I end up looking like the f*****g muffin man. Also chest pain and some dizziness.

That's exactly what I was afraid of hearing you say. A little frightening if you ask me. Be careful with that crap

I don't know man I'm on finasteride dutasteride minoxidil and now this threading crap and nothing has helped. If I had to do it all over again I never would have started dutasteride as that's when I started noticing more loss. Could have been coincidental but I'll never know.

I'm in the exact same boat as you brah. Nothing ever worked for me and it feels like everytime I try something to address hair loss it just results in more shedding. Tried finasteride for 11 months and had nothing but heavy shedding almost the whole time. Tried all different kind of topical oils (emu oil, castor oil, coconut oil), revivogen, 1% and 2% ketoconazole but it seemed like they only made things worse. I'm afraid that if the big cure ever did come through I'd be the only guy that it didn't work for.

Sorry to hear that. But now i'm curious about your situation.

Have you ever gotten on the big 3 and actually documented it with pictures, at the very least on a monthly basis?

And did you give the Big 3 a try for 12 months?

The most important thing I want to know is if you documented it with pics, for at least 6 months, with 6 months worth of pics? Same haircut, same lighting, angles?

Your eyes can play tricks on you, so you need a timeline of pics for perspective.

Have both of you tried dermarolling vie the Dhurat 1.5mm roller protocol ?

The interesting thing about that study was that it was tried first on minoxidil and finasterdine NON responders ! i.e the most difficult paitients and i think most of them responded ?

you just may need more modes of action at the same time as its more severe in your case to just use minoxidil finasterdine.. i would add dermarolling strait away as their is no sides.. and possible Topical vit d AND CETrizine for the Mast cell - PGD2 angle as well. then you have 4 different modes of action.

Never tried minoxidil because I heard it can cause dark circles under eyes and I already have dark circles and am aging pretty badly to begin with. I have tried dutasteride but only for about a month. I didn't feel it was doing anything and I figure with something as potent as dutasteride I should have at least experienced a reduction in shedding, although I admit one month probably wasn't long enough. I have tried a pre-mixed RU formula from Anagen and it felt like I was shedding more hair when I was using it. Maybe I should have bought the powder and mixed it myself? I also have allergies so I tried using zyrtec because I read cetirizine may help reduce hair loss. On my 4th day on I experienced the heaviest shed I ever experienced in my life so I discontinued. I just figure my hairloss is way too aggressive at this point and there's nothing I can do about it but hope that maybe a new treatment comes out soon (brotzu, replicel, etc). Of course, there's probably a good chance I won't respond to those treatments either. I'll still be more than willing to give those a try, though.

@Jk1, how do you mix the cetirizine into a topical formula?

I could be wrong, but from your explanation, it doesn't sound to me like you gave hair loss treatments a fair shake.

First of all, 1 month is nowhere near enough for dutasteride or finasteride, at the very least wait 3 months to see anything, preferably 6 months.

It sounds like you are trying out treatments for 1 month and since they don't work in 1 month you chalk it up to being a non-responder.

Imagine you're overweight, and you exercise for 1 month, trying out only one method of exercise, and you don't see any changes in the mirror. Would you say exercising just isn't for you? That it will never work because that one exercise you tried for 1 month didn't make you look better in the mirror? You have to try different exercises for a certain number of months, take pics, and be patient. It's the same with hair loss treatments, even harder, growing hair is more stubborn.
