What you said about your father only goes to show that everyone is different and being as such, take balding differently. Guys like HatPrisoner and myself can't deal with it too good. Maybe your outlook might grow pessimistic once you reach NW6 status, maybe not. From your picture, you look like Freddy Lunjenberg, who played Fred in the live-action movie for Scooby-Doo. If I looked like that I would feel pretty good about myself and I would for sure as hell not be on this site. At the same time you wonder why guys like HP and myself are on this site, since you in your youthful arrogance assume we are beyond help. Well who is actually more qualified to vent about hairloss than someone who is is bald. And what does my age have to do with anything? I'm not supposed to let balding bother me past a certain age because I'm already obsolete? Young people are always saying how when they reach thirty that they will have achieved this list of ambitious life goals, and some of them do but I can tell you that most will be lucky if they can accomplish even just one by the time they are 30.

Well it's just how it is. Most people are age 21, think "30" is so far away. Let me tell you, that after age 23 or so, until late 30's, you pretty much look the same. Most people who meet me tell me I look like I'm in my 20's. I don't see any difference in me now from lets say 7 years ago. But I also know this is a very individual thing.

I just want/need to get to a point (in my case) where hairloss no longer bothers me. Otherwise, it will continue depressing the hell out of me. I did all the "other things" that people suggest and it didn't help.

I mean anyone should be able to vent about hairloss. But someone who is a Norwood 2 or something has no business trying to "relate" to someone who is a NW6.

Someone mentioned they know a "21 y/o NW7". That should illustrate the point. Its mentioned like saying "i know a guy who is a hunchback". They exist but it is pretty rare.

really? wanna know what makes me laugh?

34 year old men who still live at home with mommy and daddy, havent had a job in ten years, are afraid to face the world with a bald head, make pathetic whining posts on the internet about how horrible life is without hair, would rather lose a leg than be bald, and think that the answer to their problem is to go to a tanning salon and paint their head with fake hair.

yeah. thats what makes me laugh.

As I asked, why do YOU care so much about me? Simple question.

If you are trying to "get at me" with your statement, it won't work. I put it out there so I am prepared for idiots to react that way.

I also know you wouldn't say any of what you are saying to my face as you would like to see the year 2009.

Thanks.

Think about it....you are already bald...so no worries. Take that as the men, deal with it and life goes on....play tennis...go to Tibet....sing in military...
While all of us who are in the phase of blading must worry all the time how does the hair look...

Relax man....there are 7 billion of us, no one cares do you got or you don't got a hair.

That makes no sense if being bald is so easy then why worry about balding? The fact is its better to be balding than bald and if your worried about hairloss in your 20's it does'nt go away in your 30's or 40's or ever.
There are men in their 70's getting hair transplant's!
IMO anyone who is bothered enough to research on the internet and join a m.p.b forum is going to always be bothered by it.

Nah, I'd like to believe that most men will adjust to the situation in say, 5 years after realizing they're balding. One has to be extremely unhappy with himself to dwell on hairloss for longer than that. Dunno about my situation in 3 yrs time, it's been only 2 years for me.

I very much disagree. I've just turned 23 and i've noticed that I've been losing hair for 2 and a half years now and its been a very quick process (diffusing in the nw6/nw7 pattern) but I'm honestly finding it easier and easier to deal with everyday. I'm honestly glad sometimes that its happening now because once I totally get over it, I'm gonna have my whole life ahead of me. The only real thing that bothers me is how people i grew up with and my family members from across the country will react. but whatever, I know i look good with a shaved head and its a huge motivator to stay in shape and excercise every day. before hairloss i used to eat like sh*t and snort coke and drink booze all the time. now ive stopped all that sh*t. so if you ask me, hairloss is almost a positive thing in my case

LOL look back at the history of this poster though. Look at how he speaks to people. He "offered me some job" to go work in some mountains in Canada and when I didn't jump at it, al of a sudden he acts like this. GO back and look if you don't believe me. The guy is clearly off the ball.

US? I know your hairloss bothers you but you cannot group your hairloss to someone who is bald. It's not even in the same ballpark.

Yes emex, I said it to you. Just because you don't agree with what I say or think, you don't need to act like a total douche about it. And you do. But I"m glad my situation is something you think about so much. By your little "synopsis" of things I have posted, it proves you have been following my posts in different threads all of this board. I wonder why that is?

And please refrain from sending me any more private messages telling about what you enjoy "doing" anymore. Thanks.

I still agree with what he said, though

You will learn to get used to it and get on with life, but your desire to have your hair back will not go away.

Don't you think that depends on the individual? For many, this will happen. For others, it will not.

I'll reiterate what I stated earlier, I believe us guys on here are not the norm.
The vast majority of young men losing their hair just look at it and think "this sucks I dont want to go bald but I cant do anything about it". Then they just buzz it off. But even these guys will miss their hair to some extent whenever they think about it or their appearance.

Then there is us : We have been so affected by it that we have taken the effort to look for treatments and join this forum, there must be something different about our thinking that makes this a big issue. Most of the guys on here have other body image issues going on theres plenty of discussions about working out and height and other aspects of appearance discussed on here. Dont be thinking this is purely because most of us are young. Believe me there are plenty of middle aged or old bald guys out there for whom hair is a serious bone of contention.
I believe that nearly all of us will come to terms with dealing with life without hair but forgetting about it altogether and not caring at all about something that has been such a big issue is another thing altogether.

Oh i agree with that. But there are also those who killed themselves, end up living in poverty, become criminals and so forth. There is no way to "measure" it totally. I mean the one who shave their head and live their lives can be measured as we see them out and about more often.

I mean I won't deny I have body issues. But none of them (and yes some are notiecable) has every made me like "go into hiding" as I did with this. This was just too much for me to handle.

I just had my 3rd hair transplant, I'll have 5 more before I walk around bald one day. As fate rears its ugly head in my direction, I fight back with science. So far, were even.
