I would warn you to net use it, I was on finasteride for seventeen years with little to no side effects. It stopped working for me so I switched to dutasteride and it was the biggest regret of my adult life. It cognitive slammed the crap outta me, I'm still recovering a year later. It starves your brain of 5ar which is necessary for all your neurosteroid conversions. It put my amygdala into hyperactive anxiety mode which takes a long time to reverse, and remember the long half life of that stuff. If you react badly it will take months to leave your system. Best part is tho I didn't need it, i desperately tried a new regimen and to my surprise I grew everything back I had lost plus some. It's more expensive and time consuming but it works . Good luck to you whichever path u choose.

Just chiming in since I just popped my first dutasteride today and saw this thread. Already experiencing increased libido, same as when I started finasteride.

Good luck buddy, keep in touch with me we can document this together. Your current Norwood? I'm currently Norwood 2.5, and I'm adding in minoxidil 15% soon.

I don't really fall into the norwood scale. I am diffuse + bald spot + recession. I have been on minoxidil\finasteride for like 10 months now with pretty good results though. I just want more!

Dude please use dutasteride for at least a year. So many people quit early because the shed is rough.

For what it's worth..... I'm on Dutasteride for the last 7 months 4 times a week with Finasteride on the off days. I was on Finasteride for the last 7/8 years with decent success. I use min once a day and ket everyday too. In the last year I started to shed and itch like a mofo. Since I jumped on Dutasteride the itch is completely gone (except when I sweat from running weirdly) other than that zero itch. Hairline has definitely taken a hit. Plan is to stick it out until the year mark and reassess. Dutasteride is a strange one such polarised views....... except when you look on hair loss cure 2020 the majority seem to have success. Last roll of the dice for me. Good luck in your venture Kombo!

There's all sorts of crazy reports about dutasteride, finasteride, and min all over the web. One thing to keep in mind is that these boards draw many people who are hypochondriacs or have body image disorders. I think this accounts for the large variety of strange anecdotes about these drugs.

I realize I am only one person, but I have found just about what you'd expect - these drugs have very minor side effects, won't cure your baldness, but will help regrow a decent amount of hair if used correctly. And that's basically the state of baldness treatment.

Well could you tell us what your “new regimen” consists of then?
Your post isn’t really much help, like many on here you just seem to be scare mongering . You didn’t mention how long you were on dutasteride for either.

Yes, for 5 months. Hairline got destroyed & I’m shedding all over the head. Itch is still there. I’m not gonna lie, it’s bad. I will go through it for 6 months but probably will drop it and try finasteride with ru or cb. I still believe duta is better drug for majority just not for me.
You think duta is responsible for that? Could just be a shed before things really start to improve. You hear that a lot before the 1 year mark with finasteride+duta.

I don’t know to be honest. My opinion is if there is still itch when you’re ‘shedding’ that’s a bad sign. Will wait a little bit longer and will see.

Maybe, not really sure what the whole "male pattern baldness itch" is myself. What exactly does it feel like to you?

Some have it and some don’t. It feels like constant burning sensation on my scalp, itch is constantly moving up and down and when I scratch I get small white bulbs quite similar to pimples. Sometimes i get hair out that sticks together. Can see this in my thread here: https://www.hairlosstalk.com/intera...f-hair-sticking-together.114329/#post-1675461

I actually made a thread today about the whole “duta helps except in the worst areas” thing. I have recently noticed that the back of my head seems to have gotten thicker and I do grow more darker hairs around my hairline, but in the 7 months that I’ve been using duta, the top of my head has become increasingly worse. Whether or not it duta has sped that process up or it would have been like that regardless is anyone’s guess, but I can certainly say that I have not grown any new hair in my “pattern” zones.
