David, my main point that never came about in my failed post was don't ever give up on yourself. You are way too valuable in my eyes to do that. You can try to figure out why you fail, but just remember those who don't appreciate you are just losing out, not you.

I fail because more desirable suitors are widely available.

Not really. If that were true, I wouldn't be here. Knowing that I live in a world where people mock you and treat you like crap is not a picnic for me. You don't deserve that. No one does. I got news for you Dante, this world is hell. I really don't like too many people nor have too many friends. So you and I are not much different in the way we think.

True, I can't argue with you there. However, if you believe the saying that there is someone out there for all of us, then you might keep looking. David, I failed in relationships because I always thought I could do better and ironically I had low self esteem at the same time. The irony of that is pathetic. That's on me. Hope you don't think like I do.

Not much, no. I'm above average but not wealthy.

Pro: Assets exceed debts, credit score was comfortably over 750 last I checked, full benefits, flexible hours at job, opportunity for advancement, salary is comfortably above the median personal income of $30,240/year and even the median household income of $51,939.
Con: Salary is less than 100,000/year, assets less than 100,000, I'm unlikely to ever clear 250,000/year in real income.

So as with my social skills, it's enough to do adequately once people get to know me, but not enough to bring people in in the first place by flashing wealth.

Same as me, one of my anxiety triggers is the "what if", I was never able to overcome it, even when I had low self-esteem I still thought I could do better, still do even as a short balding guy with no social options available.That's why it irritates me so much whenever I see those wimpy good looking guys with terrible women (both looks+personality) as if they were their reason to live.

Resu, fear is tough to conquer. I wish I could help you out more to overcome your anxiety but you have to keep searching in ways to deal with it. I was surprised you have never dated anyone in your lifetime. I hope that changes some day.
