I agree, but it's easier than ever to find forums and support networks. I think I literally just typed in hair loss forum and this was one of the first ones to come up.

If balding is affecting someone to the extent that it affects many of us here I'm sure one of the first things they would do is jump on the internet and do some research. People are a lot more informed and take more ownership for their health and wellbeing these days.

But what does a little research yeild in terms of hairloss solutions? After wading through all the snake oils and proposterous theories, only to find a small handfull of mediocre treatments/medications. For a young aggressive balder it can be discouraging to say the least. So we have no choice other than the razor and a pathetic self affirmation.

Most men/women would agree he looks SO MUCH better in the after picture than before. If a survey was done, that would be the response. This isn't just some forum talk. In the first picture even if he shaved off his horeshoe, he would not look anywhere as good as the after picture.

I agree the worst things a guy can do which will make people mock him are wigs, concealers or a dodgy combover. However, in this individual's case he clearly does not have a major combover and considering his age, most people won't think twice or laugh at him.

Basically I am not bald, Norwood 2.5, but I know how things work in human behaviour due to my background, common sense also tells me to look your best attraction wise, 99% of people need a hairstyle.

It's very strange. After being on these sites for close to 2 years I still don't get it. Obviously we are here because we don't like the fact that we are losing hair, why not try to do something to help ourselves?

They played a 20 year old video advertisement at a meeting here the other day.someone yelled out "look Bill (combover guy) has hair" and hilarity ensued.

On a side note, try doing this to a woman by mentioning anything about her appearance and see how long you keep your job. It is totally acceptable for everybody to joke about balding and if we even have the nerve to complain about it, we would get it even worse.

I will never understand the guys who look at hair transplants, which are an amazing solution when done by a top surgeon, and say "meh, lame, I'll just remain bald."

I am keeping the transplant option open to do what you did when I lose more hair. I was thinking of filling in some of the thinning spots, but changed my mind.

Once this misery is gone, what are these people going to use as an excuse to why their life sucks?

I've said it before, it's quite scary, now that I somehow have hair again, I don't have a cop out anymore.

If I stay idle, if I don't improve, if I'm negative, and if as a result my life sucks, I can't say my lack of hair is the cause.

I see it with some patients. They use their disability as a reason why everything sucks. We rehab the patient and they return to their pre-admission mobility/function and they find another reason to be miserable.

I honestly think some people just need something to complain about. In a strange way it gives their life more meaning.

Because there is not much you can do about it. They only approved treatment for hairloss is the big 3 and for most people it just postpones the inevitable. For some they get sides like gyno or something else and then there is almost nothing they can do to prevent it. A hair transplant can give you some hair "back" but I believe that for many the results are not worth the prices. I think that people here have the everything or nothing mentally aka the hair greed. Or like me believe that someone in his twenties should have at least a nw2.5 hairline or it is mostly no use anyway. Getting out of the "bald" zone is still a big win though.

For most there is something we can do about it. I would be the first to say that our treatment options are not the best, but there is something that can be done to slow down our hair loss. Although there are some that will not benefit from taking finasteride, most will have some type of positive response. Even if the Big 3 isn't a permanent solution, so what! Is keeping your hair for another 5 or 10 years not worth it? Even a couple of years would be worth it in my eyes. The internet has helped me in my fight against hair loss. I would be close to NW6 if it wasn't for the info I was able to find. Though many others have been harmed with all the nonsense they have read online that has kept them from treating their hair loss.
