That's exactly what I meant. Lol thanks Joan. I have to say I feel quite privileged. I have also seen Evil Locks, she is exactly like you described. Nordic looking, full lips with cold deep beautiful eyes. A face with a lot of personality and charm. Hope both of you win and nail the hair loss battle! Now I know you could choose a lot of good looking guys Evil.

I think the same. I almost never consider someone irreparably ugly.

I have one friend who is really ugly, so much that all our friends will regularly say "thank god I don't look like him!"

But he also dresses very badly and has a bowl haircut. He could improve his appearance a little but doesn't seem to want to do it.

Lol, who has those these days? I thought that was a 90's thing. Anyway at least he has a hairstyle...

And I know a few on this forum she could pick from.

She is a beauty, for sure.

I told her that the hair loss wouldn't bother me personally in either of you, you both have attractive faces and there are ways you can disguise your hair loss. I appreciate the identity thing is a big deal. Joan, you can flaunt that long face, always been a sucker for that.

Good friends if you're lucky enough to have one/them will build (operative v.) us up, not knock us down.
There can be a grey line between encouragement and what behavior therapists love to call enablement.
Observing how an alleged friend treats strangers or fellow associates around you can be a fairly accurate method of assessing a future friends core integrity.
Now I know we all have our subset of standards when it comes to choosing our friends or the crowd we run with.
Maybe it's because I'm a year older that it's become more apparent that virtuous qualities are becoming less and less valued/ fashionable?

Actually, his real name was Fred Gwynne. My boss looks like him (attractive).

Keanu Reeves? I've always thought he was really good looking. I think you said you won't let yourself go gray. If you look like Keanu, gray wouldn't take anything away from you.

Fred, you left out what Wolf Pack said after "it wouldn't make sense": "Not her type/doesn't do it for me is more common." I don't think he would find it inconceivable that a woman wouldn't find him attractive (I would, though); I think he meant that they wouldn't use ugly as a descriptive word. He is right: Ugly is harsh, and I don't think I've ever seen someone I'd consider ugly. If you look like Edward Norton, then there are some good-looking guys (and a girl) on this forum. I think a lot of you are way too critical of yourselves.
Joan, I was actually kidding around with saying Herman Munster and saying he was a stud muffin. I was a big fan of the show so I know the actor who played him too.

Pretty obvious what the response will be from Tinder when it's essentially based completely on looks; a mug shot of your balding disfigured face. Nothing to be surprised about here.

What if you put in the bio that you have lots of confidence though :p

You think people on tinder or other dating websites bother with reading bios? LOL.

Haha no I was joking, anyway point of the thread was I do good on tinder (matches and getting numbers, dates) and I am fairly bald, (my main pic on tinder clearly shows it), and my conclusion is its about looks as a whole, you can have a full head of hear but ugly face and will get nothing on tinder, vs handsome tall well built bald guy.

An ugly face even topped with a full head of hair will get us nothing. I know I may be coming off the context of this interesting thread, but do we think this statement might apply to the social attitude(s) of mainstream life in general?

If someone is ugly, there is nothing thats going to save them. Thankfully, I am not... well, apart from the hair balding bit.

The best advice I could give someone who is down about going bald is: Hit the gym and get big. All your problems will fade away.

^That's not an understanding of how debilitated a lot of bald guys (including myself) feel when it comes to motivation about our appearance, I find it hard enough to go for a jog because I get home and see the thinning and it's like what's the point? Never mind putting hours into the gym "getting big" which takes a lot of dedication.

Not that it's bad advice at all, because if a guy can do it then by all means it's good to look after yourself and be in tiptop shape (whether bald or not really) but yeah, I'd say bald guys suffer from confidence and insecurity issues more than guys who have normal hairlines well into their 20s, other issues such as being motivated towards something like exercising would effect this as well.

EDIT: Just in consistency with the rest of my posts I should point out that I'm not considered "bald" yet but thinning and receding, though I'd understand if some people thought I was bald under harsh lighting, for the time being I'd probably be described as "balding".

I wasn't being serious. The whole "hit the gym" thing is way over played and oversimplifies our problem. Hitting the gym by itself will rarely result in most guys becoming "huge".
