Hello Gascoigne,Where have you been?...I have missed your pearls of wisdom, gathered from the years of life experience as a fully bald man.

I've read a lot of your posts, and whether I agree with you or not, you are probably the most interesting poster on this forum. [...]

Absolutely.

I believe UCman is brilliant and I read everything he posts here.

UCman: You really shouldn't worry so much, you look great. I won't lie to you, you'd look much better if you were still a NW0 and you know it, but you look good now.

Thank you Belemondo. I've poured my heart and soul into this site for years. But I disagree about me looking good. If I had hair I would look good but right now I am just another weird looking bald guy.

I find it hard to disagree with anything UCman says, and ya I read all of his posts. Its just that, he looks at absolutly everything with a "glass-half-empty" point of view. I'm really trying to balance it out, I don't want to be delusional like the Slybaldguys, but I also don't want to be as pessimistic as UCman. Gasicongne is also pessimistic, but the difference between him and UCman is that everything he says is uniformed. UCman is right, but he is like the "Magneto" of baldness. I can understand where he's coming from, but he takes it way too far.

Also UCman, I think you look pretty good bald. Not saying you wouldnt look better with hair, but you are by no means an ugly guy. You remind me a lot of my uncle, except hes the total opposite about it personality-wise. He's almost turned his baldness around, and almost has this "urban" and youthful look about him. Being bald will certainly make a guy in his 20s looks older, but in your 30s-40s, when people are used to you looking bald, it can actually keep you looking younger. I mean, look at Stone Cold Steve Austin. He pretty much has looked the same for 10 years.

LMAO!

Yes, being a full blown NW7 like gascoigne surely must suck.

Agree x10.

There's a poster called sandovalusa whose 24, slick bald and it doesn't affect him at all other than the initial reactions people got when he shaved his head completely. Have you seen his thread in the tell your story section UCman? I don't know if I'll acclimate as well if and when I'm bald but it's a wonderful example of severe male pattern baldness not being an issue at all.

UCman, I have a question for you. Would you prefer to have this hairstyle, or stay bald.

(BTW this is just a joke question, not intended to offend haha)

Also, you never mentioned, what is the history of baldness in your family?

Haha, oh wow, it's amazing how much of an influence hair has on someone's appearance, isn't it? Looks like a completely different person there.

IMO, UCman is at least one of those lucky ones who still look good without hair. It's not that he wouldn't look better with hair, nearly all men do, but still he pulls off the bald look pretty well, at least if that avatar photo is anything to go by.

you should look into hairpieces to see what you look like with hair, check hairdirect, it can be a fun experiment for you

If I ever go the hairpiece route then I open the floodgates to improving the rest of my body/lifestyle. That means quitting smoking, excercising regularly to the point of getting the body to match the hair. Basically it's all or nothing. Be a genuinely miserable self-destructive, self-loathing bald man or be a fake but healthy stud.

Doesn't sound like a reasonable excuse. You must have typed this for irony sake, amrite? Are you more consern that your acquaintances would notice the sudden change? Or you won't be 100% happy with the fake piece of hair on your head?

wtf you dont need to have a perfect body to match a perfect head of hair.

having a full head of hair in your youth, is normal and expected in society, no one is expecting us to have a great body to match it.

i dont get this all or nothing mentality.

Absolutely. In all reality if I got a good system I wouldn't have to do anything and wind up looking ten times better than I do now just for the simple fact that I have hair on top of my head. The converse of that would be that I would get too comfortable with it, making my reality feel ten times worse. Then everyone you know will know so you will be forced to admit it and no one will look at you the same way since there is a huge stigma for wearing. But yes, it would be a huge mental transition for me to go from socially unacceptable to socially acceptable again.

U.man,I think its too late in the game for a hair piece for those such as you and I.I think in the long term, the mental/emotional affects would be worse than trying too accept what we are,a 30s+fully bald social outcast.

I don't have the budget for it anyway. The harder you fight it the worse it becomes so it is best to just shave it and leave it alone.

Anyone watch the South Park episode "The List"?
The girls make a list ranking boys by beauty.
Kyle is usually the sane one, and here also, he says these things dont matter.
And then he finds out he is last on the list.

It affects him so much he decides to burn down the school. :woot:

what the

socially unacceptable?

i thought it was socially acceptable to be who you are, but wearing hair is socially unacceptable.

but yeah the budget for a hairpieces isnt that high, it would only be $600 most.

do you think its not socially acceptable to be bald in your late 20s onwards.

UCman why don't you try to get on a regime right now? I understand you are a NW5, but if you could return to a NW3 or a NW4 I think it would already make a difference. NW4 in some cases can look good with some concealer. You could give it a try I think.

I mean, who knows how you'll respond to it?
