The article starts of with "she" but switches to "he" in between. Interesting.

I have no beef with legitimate transitioning people wanting pro nouns used if they ask but this expecting ALL of us to be gender neutral because a small tiny fraction of people are unsure is ridiculous.
If that is what it is even about I have no idea...things like this are not really on my radar as important happenings in world.

Love being a woman--you guys should try it sometime :)

This is the problem with 6 year olds...no hip-to-waiste ratio.

6 year olds also don't dress like that where I'm from. Maybe it's a Canadian thing

What??
Not a lesbian trapped in a mans body?

No, I have to work hard in the gym to be passable as a man.

On the other hand, I like shopping and chocolate, so ....

Shopping and chocolate is an actual example of gender being socially constructed.

Men definitely like chocolate for one.

Shopping yes, but maybe not indecisive browsing.

Controlling speech, which drives people to do the opposite in Belgium.

When they say "Winter fun" (yep) for the Christmas Market in the media, people immediately "scream" their contempt for such denomination and write "It's the Christmas Market, and that's how we all call it, deal with it Muslim-friendly PC media!" in the Facebook comments and gather hundreds of likes, and of course, a few comments from radical leftists that tell them that they're racist for calling a spade a spade.

Don't force people to use words that they don't want to use. Don't force people to lie to themselves and to others. It's the Christmas Market, it's the Christmas Holidays, deal with it!

lol @ eurocucks as always

When I was a kid we had this old, grumpy neighbour that had a cherry tree in his garden of which the cherries tasted like heaven, especially in the hot summer time. He wasn't very fond of the fact that we stole his cherries, so we climbed as high as possible so that he couldn't get to us. I remember that feeling when I climbed on that tree, I never wanted to get off off it. This picture reminded me of that feeling :D

First, you're a wonderful man. You often intervene at very strategic points, and you know exactly what to say. I do feel that you relate to some of us sometimes and that's appreciated. We cannot easily do the same for you, as we don't know as much about you.

I agree with you on the mixed tone of the website. It is often constructive and supportive and informative, and it is often hostile. I'll say that I'm not sure if it's worse or better than other places I've been at though ... The internet in general is swamped with angry trolls. YouTube comments sections for example are notoriously mean-spirited. So in a way, as bad as this place can be, it's also an island of scholarly tranquility within a dark sea containing where here be dragons.

You know, off the top of my head I can only recall one online community that was free of hostility, and ... they closed down.

But, it's still nevertheless mean-spirited place regardless of being gentler than YouTube. I don't think it's good for me to be here. I'm largely here out of addiction, and sometimes the negative energy is overwhelming. Separately, I've also had a sense of deja-vu from a lot of my own posts, which suggests that I'm no longer learning and growing here, overdue after an embarrassing 7,200 posts in 20 months. So I'm considering moving on as well.

To be honest man, I've been thinking it might be a good thing if I were to move on from this place as well. Lots of regurgitated ideas over and over, to the point where it's lost much of the enjoyment I used to get, but I still continue to check in regularly and read the posts out of addiction I think more than anything. It's been a sanctuary for me at many times when I needed it, but I don't know how healthy it is to constantly reinforce the lookism side of my worldview by continuing to read and affirm very similar rantings over and over. It can become obsessive and although I am glad to understand these concepts it makes interactions with other people just feel kind of dark sometimes.

If I were to somehow permanently leave, which I don't know if I am capable of at the moment, I would certainly miss characters here, such as yourself, and our Belgian friend @WhitePolarBear amongst others
