No such studies so far but you have to consider that Follica is placing all their bets on wounding and topical. So, long term must be safe.

Wasn’t really thinking about the safety, more results but that’s a good point

I think alls follica are doing is trying to make a derma pen look more sophisticated so people don’t just see their device and think well I can just buy a derma pen

Just had my first microneedling session with the device that the reddit guy uses.

At 2mm/full speed. Only did like 2 minutes over overall scalp, was uncomfortable on vertex area (also area that's worst hairloss wise with me). Overall it's not that bad. Did not bleed at all too.

How long do you guys microneedle and at what depth/speed?

I do exactly the same 2mm with the same pen as that

I’s say I spend about 5-7 minutes overall, I go over the same spot about 15-20 times with the pen at full speed

So what I mean is i’ll chose a spot and go over and over it in different directions and then move onto another spot go over and over that and then back to the previous spot, and go back over, all in all about 15 brushes over with the pen

I think we can see that this is at very least maintance for most people...going off both of the studies and progress that some of us are already having with some really good pics

That is it’s self is HUGE and if full heads who are prone to male pattern baldness start rolling it could be the end of baldness maybe? Or maybe it helps the people that have male pattern baldness for a certain reason and not where blood flow is not the only problem that is causing male pattern baldness

Okay, I only went over the same spot 3-4 times max. I'll cover it more next time.

That is just what I do mate, not a clue if it’s correct, but my hair is getting better so it does seem to be working, I just wanted to make sure it is well covered and everywhere is wounded

Well considering no one in either study lost ground then yes you can consider it a pretty powerful therapy but I still think they might need conventional therapy like finasteride that deals with dht.

Result from MyThinningConfidence. He's getting even better results now. I believe he will end up at NW1.5

Most people trying this are not on finastride tho and it still seems to be working, finastride is such a sh*t option, and not even an option in my book, even if you don’t have sides that you notice anyway, doesnt mean you wont get them later down the line

How long untill the pain/irritation of the needling session subdues?

My first session was the worst, just felt like my head was pulsing for about a couple of hours, nothing unbarable tho, my sessions started getting easier and less painful, although the pain doesn’t matter to me because of what it’s acheiving so maybe thats a factor

Here is another great result. This person claims that he added 1mm dermaroller 3 months before the after picture shown below and the results sped up. This is 9 month results.

This is f*****g Norwood 7!

He states that his hair growth was vellus type at first and it improved after 6 months but after adding dermarolling he started regrowing terminal hairs directly.

Started losing hair at 21 and is now 32. This is old hairloss and it's still coming back.

This confirms my previous research I did a year ago. Hair follicles do not die.

how long has he been doing it for? Ive started to see these new black hairs on my hair line to....im 8 weeks in.

You can check out his thread because it is pretty f*****g amazing. He only started with microneedling and he started regrowing. He also used mechanical stimulation(massage). But I read the thread and he was having results without finasteride or min but later he added finasteride to his regimen and the recovery has obviously sped up.

I'm starting to really think we got the whole hair loss thing wrong...

I think we just get used to the discomfort.

I am taking cold showers because I literally don't have the time in the morning to mess around with hot water and cold water forces me to take a shower really quickly. Not only can I tolerate the cold out in the open much much better, I also want to lower the temperature of the water further because it does not feel cold anymore.

No studies yet, but there is a guy here who has been needling for over two years. He says he is still getting some regrowth, although gradually and at an extremely slow rate. So there you go, one anecdotal account. Still not enough to generalize, but better than no info at all. In absence of such studies, I hope we all keep doing this consistently for life so we can have a clearer picture of the long term efficacy of this. It will be helpful not only for us, but insightful for the incoming generation of baldities.

Yeah that's what I am thinking. Some might even need more than a year to see proper results (especially if you are a nw7), but if you are seeing progress you should just keep going.

Okay, what in the sweet f***.
I'm starting to really think we got the whole hair loss thing wrong...

The guy used a 520 needle dermaroller. That sh*t would have hurt like hell. I'm searching for more and more proof of this working because we need to post it here. This can help us look at the long term picture if we do not get results straight away. Outliers who respond really late and are slowly responding are as important as those like MyThinningConfidence.

I did a sh*t load of research(real scientific papers and not random bro f*****g science blogs) that confirmed the hair follicles do not die no matter what. You would have to f*****g scoop them out to kill them. They lie there dormant and the older they are the harder they are to "reawaken''. So, I'm thinking if this guy has results like this because of dermaroller boosting his growth, and if you look at the pattern of his regrowth then there is no doubt that over a longer period of time, say 2 years he might regrow a lot more because our body does not run out of growth factors does it.
