Ok, so using a quick eyeball test, it seems as though people are getting better results with rollers than pens. Please correct me if im wrong.

im inclined to be leave opposite is true as every one used rollers in 2013 and it was disaster as far as mirroring studies results

Roller or pen? Any results?

I am using pen (the wireless pink one :D, it is quite convenient for me and I think it is better than dermaroller, which I used some time ago).

As for now it was just a 2nd completed needling session for me, I can't say that I got any results.
However, if I start going with my hands over my head, I am shedding around 20-30 hairs, I would say.
But, overall, I think that once I started needling, I feel my scalp better. It became less oily and I don't have that much dandruff as before. I hope it will go on like this.

p.s. Guys, by the way, who is diffuse thinner with wavy hair and has NW2-2.5, how do you cut your hair? I feel so annoyed that hair on top is wavy, and it looks bad, I can't comb it in any way, so I am just trying to make it lie straight, so it covers my temples (more or less). If I try to make a combover to the side, then my temples become more visible to everyone. I am still thinking now to cut my sides with fade, though, and leave the rest of the hair on top. Hope that it will look okayish. The small miniaturized hair is also annoying me so much, but I can't do anything about it..

Because they didn't stick long-term to it?
duno human psychology may be bigger factor than the roller itself i quite enjoy my pen sessions so sticking to this will be easy as its no hardship i reckon the roller worked in the Indian studie with a greater success due to second person applying the roller pressure so my pen is my second person . Im just guessing from everything i read and hoping i got every aspect covered

This os an old post from 2014 from this forum:

So, what do we have.

People have been dermarolling for years - never seen or heard of any great results.

New study comes out. It reports MIRACULOUS results from dermarolling. Turns out there may have been self-interested behavior behind the study (one of researchers may have owned a dermarolling clinic). And since the study, hundreds of people have been dermarolling hard for months, and no one has had results even close to the study. I have yet to see ANY pictures with real results even REMOTELY close to those from the study.

People in the threads are now asking "what are we doing wrong? what can we do differently?"

I feel that this is just another passing fad where a few excitable people go out, claim they are having results, others try and it doesn't pan out, and it is to be resigned to the balding dustbin.

Yet we have numerous users making near full recoveries.

Who is that guy that butchered his scalp so hard his head was a pool of blood (and all of his hair grew back?)

Well we’ve heard results from multiple people recently...
don’t know how you can deny that, it’s been all over Reddit too

1.5mm. 192 needles.

Moderate regrowth on temple area about 2 months in. Thickness improving rather significantly.
Sounds nice. If you can tolerate the pain, I'd advice you stick to this roller and length.
Especially since it's working...

How do you know? Have you tested it?
You compared results between two persons? Two half of a scalp?
You checked it in a lab or any other scientific method?
Or you're just answering your with your opinions as a fact, misleading new comers?
Careful with me, people. I WILL mislead you by telling you something that you can't comprehend by yourselves and that requires a lab test to know: that wounding with a machine is a more effective way of doing it than manually.
And no, this does not mean you won't get results if you do it manually. Plenty of people, 7 included, have had results with a roller. But it's gonna be harder for people to wound as effectively.
You can tell this is what I want because I didn't tell him to stick with the manual stamp if that's what he feels most comfortable with and forced him to buy a pen.
Oh, jolly hockey sticks... But that's exactly what I didn't do.
Are you sure you're not projecting here and it's you who want to mislead newcomers by making me look like the bad guy because I laid some serious pipe on you earlier? Cause it sure sounds like it.
This is the last time I take sh*t from you.

Honestly, whether it's true or not, unless there are a lot of people here faking results we have enough evidence to at least give it a shot.
I wouldn't worry much about those old posts.

@2young2retire
If you read his thread, Fred said it was all Minoxidil and that he would lose it all (despite dropping Minoxidil after a month and continue to make progress). You have PrettyFly too. The same guy (Fred) said something like PrettyFly had a transplant and that he was there to make fun of them or some sh*t. Goes to show the type of loons roaming these places.

The pain is a b word. I was doing it with some signficiant pressure and my whole scalp was bleeding every week (not super bad, but it painful).

This weekend I wussed and only went until mild redness. Next week i have to continue my regular regimen.

So many words without getting to the issue.
I'm asking again, why do you tell people a pen is more effective than a roller?
Based on what?
That was the question. Now you are welcome to answer on-point.
