You are right, they are deeper than 1.5mm. But in the microneedling study they used a 1.5mm dermROLLER, which doesnt go really deep. And they said "gently roll over the scalp" and they said they didnt cause any bleeding. And it was still effective, which means you are already causing wounding with 1mm dermSTAMP + bleeding. Its good thing though. It means people can increase they needling sessions to get more hair growth.

But i was focused on the front (60-70% of minoxidil and DermaRoller activity), to the crown i paid less attention (30-40%)
Im pretty sure that needles played a huge role in my progress (increased absorbtion), a lot of black hair on my face and hands confirm that

Today is the first day I dermarolled my donor and the Norwood 6-7 area. I'm a diffuse NW5 with a visibly weak crown, but also diffusing into a Norwood 6.5, which is apparent when buzzed.

I needed for a year. First a dermaroller for 6 months then a pen. I'm at my limit now. Although earlier this year I was showing some regrowth, all in all my hair is much worse.
