Yeah but who's to say you wouldn't have lost it anyway? I went to army when I was 18, was very down and depressed and stressed the whole time -> no hairloss. The hairloss started like 2-3 yrs after in unstressful conditions.

yea stress DOES NOT CAUSE F*CKING HAIR LOSS

jeez just give me ONE study that suggests this, please?

i'm waiting :)
stress itself not but stress causing high blood pressure, and other health problems that also effect the hair. Not to mention that I was hours inside a frikin hot as he'll tank that literally cocked my head, that turned my hair to become oily and that is the number one cause for hairloss and I didn't had nizoral.

Nope, cause they didn't had the baldness gene, I didn't sayed the army caused it, I said it rushed it. Ironically my dad same as me went bald in the army also in a tank, only that he was in an actual war, and my grandfather went bald in the ghetto in the age of 19. so yep we generation by generation loosing our hair young during stretfull times.

The army has nothing to do with that, its all written in your genetics, personally i dont think there is a "trigger", some homeless men who live very stresfull lives have some awesome hair... and some guys (like price whatever his name) who live a life with a golden spoon up their who lost it very young... all genetics.

This is what I find ridiculous on here people are always blaming their stress or diet or some other mild influence as the cause of baldness.
And when you point out that this can't be proven then their simple response is always "well it also cant be disproven".

Its like me saying that if I had been born and lived in another country I might be 3" taller due to enviromental influences. That is of course nonsense, however it cant be disproven.

As for the trigger theory thats also nothing more than a unlikely event. Baldness is like any other bio mechanism it kicks in when its geneticly programmed to which is why some people begin puberty at 10 yrs old others at 14 or why some people get grey hair at 18 others at 70.
The fact is no matter how stressed people believe they are these days we have never had less worries on a day to day basis.

For 99% of human evolution every day was a daily struggle just for survival (as it still is in some 3rd world countries). And yet baldness was/is no more common in those enviroments.

How do you explain the differences in height between generations?

Also, when it comes to puberty, with the girls there is a link between body weight and the trigger of puberty. Ie, an undernourished girl in a place like Somalia will reach puberty much later than a Western girl.

Of course it's genetics that determine how we turn out to be, but the environment has a huge influence on it.

I think stress could trigger the balding if you had it in your genes to begin with. calling that statement ridiculous is the same as me saying stress DOESNT cause baldness is ridiculous as well. The truth is we dont actually f*****g know.

Yeah I agree, the stress arguement is absolute nonsense!

In London I have alcoholic and crackhead tramps coming up to me and begging for change everyday, and while their skin may look awful from years of drug abuse and malnutrition, their hair often looks much, much better than mine :woot:

I'm a very fit and healthy 25yo NW3 who lives a very clean lifestyle, yet my 32yo brother, who abused his body terribly in his 20s with bad food, alcohol, cigarettes and drugs, is now only a NW1.25.... if that! :woot:

He inherited the good hair genes, so he can have all the stress he wants, his NW1 ain't going anywhere soon.

That's how male pattern baldness works and anyone who thinks otherwise, needs to take they head out their arse!

This is very true. Nice post Primo.
Hair can EVENTUALLY go gray in situations of severe and extreme stress, or in endemic examples can thin ( but all over the head, not just front or vertex) just for short period and then it grows back again.

Once you lose you're hair, you are deemed by the majority of society as a loser anyway(especially if you go sly).

I have a question related to the subject.....

I don't particularly feel like a loser at the moment, but there are so many things I want to do with my life and I'm not doing any of them. I just sit in front of my computer and do f*ck all.

I feel like I'm stuck in a rut and I can't break the habit.

For example, I've been thinking of starting a company for the last two years but I haven't even taken the first step.

Another example, it's been 8-9 months since I broke up with my ex gf and I haven't made the slightest effort to date again. I sort of had one date, it was actually good fun and she wants to date me but I'm not interested. I've been in touch with another one on FB, she was also interested, and again I didn't make the effort... I even had one stalker, I think she finally got the message..

It feels like I have a mental block that stops me from taking the next step... I don't know what it is...

Maybe it's a sign of depression???

PS: On a more positive note, this week I started taking the bus to work. It gives me the chance to walk for about 40 mins a day...

Do you know what would be good for a guy like me?Just to be in a f**kin coma.Nothing to do all day, except sucking through a straw and crapping in a bag, safe from humanity.

what's ur height and norwood status?

I'm 184cm (6'1/4"), NW3...

Why are you asking?

I've been thinking about what I wrote yesterday. I've come to the conclusion that it's a sign of early depression. As they say, the first step to cure is the admission of a problem. I know I should make an effort, but I keep procrastinating...

You can take my life if you want... I have a very easy job, I work for about 20-25 hours a week, and I spend the rest of my time at home sitting in front of the computer doing f*ck all...

The only time I get out of the house is on Thursday evenings when I attend a dance class...

lol another peasant eh?

i stay in a upper-middle class home which is like a palace to a subbordinate like you.

i dont work, i recently bought myself a car and spent £2000s on wigs over the last 6 months.

i also spent £6000 on dental veneers last year, money supplied by mumsy.

despite this im really depressed over having no women in my life, my life sucks.

I would genuinely be depressed if I had a load of money and didn't work. You should get a job.
